Horrible experience. Never arrived at stayed scheduled start times, work was sloppy and it really seemed like they had no idea what they were doing. It was like they were figuring it out as they went. The skylight framing is actually crooked on one window, the paint job is shoddy, and they had big gaps (1-1.5 inches) inside the frame they tried to fill with caulk. Had to chase them down for the caulking along all the outside edges because you could see light through them since the frames weren’t covering the edges fully and it still wasn’t done right. When I did the survey afterwards rating low, they wanted to send the exact same people out to fix it. I reluctantly agreed. The day they were supposed to come, no one showed up, no one texted or called. A few days later the project manager asked to come and didn’t acknowledge the no show until I asked about it. Total waste of time and money and now I have to pay someone else to fix it. Do not use this company. When I asked what the vetting process for hiring workers I never got a response, and the project manager I met initially was not present for the work, leading to me having to tell them when things weren’t correct/finished.

"They didn't drill holes for locks to go in, they just put a metal plate with a hole in it, anyone could break in. Not secure. They didn't put insulation in, i have to redo bottom and sides of doors. They said they would cut old door in half, never ended up doing that. They had me sign off on completion before I looked at final product. I called them and they sent a couple guys to look at it, they agreed about the lock not being installed properly. They said someone would come out to fix the issue but no one has and its been a week. If they had just said i need a new door frame i would have paid more to have it done. Wasn't even suggested The girl that came out WAS very very nice, did the job. I was just unsatisfied with overall experience. I shouldn't be able to see daylight when the door is shut."

Very well. Tony was knowledgeable and practical. He did everything I needed and explained every step along the way. I was very pleased. Overall, I think price was a little high, and I would prefer if I just had a regular handyman who I could call when I had a small job rather than waiting until I could meet Pronto’s minimum price. However, I do not have a regular handyman and using Pronto was quick and easy and they got the job done. No regrets

Fine except they did not haul away the old steps debris; otherwise site left very clean; Because they "don't do painting" I need to start again to finish the job

The guys were friendly and respectful. They did pretty good work, including picking up some stuff for us from Home Depot that we’d ordered on our own. However, they were not great at listening, being adaptable, and making sure the jobs were done to the highest standards. Example 1: we had noted that there was some rot in the doorframe of our shed, and so fixing a few specific places was part of the work order.... but during the repair, additional rot was discovered, and they wouldn’t fix it because it hadn’t been pre-approved. Example 2: we had a drainage issue off the roof, and the estimator had thought it was a problem with the pitch of the gutter — but after the work order had been written, we discovered that the problem was slightly different. The actual repair guys went ahead with the work order, even though we’d explained that the problem was different. I think the biggest problem is the rigid business model that doesn’t allow the actual repair people to adapt to the needs as they see them, but instead relies exclusively on the initial estimate to determine what work gets done. Finally... they didn’t remove the waste building materials as part of their service, so now we’re stuck hauling off rotten doors to the dump.

Our first two projects with Pronto went smoothly. The third project had some hiccups, and though it took some back and forth they did come through and make it right in the end - which we greatly appreciated.

I contacted Proto Home repair for a quote to replace my interior door. A gentleman (TJ) came out to do the estimate on September 7. He told me it was a standard size door and I asked if he was sure because I was told it was not a standard size. He insisted it was (though he didn't measure it) and it would be an easy replacement. He provided the quote the same day, took a $50 deposit to set up a repair date, which was September 14. On September 14 a different man (Viktor) came to do the repair. He took one look and said it's not a standard size door. He took measurements and left to check at Lowe's (close by) just in case, but was convinced Lowe's would not carry the proper size. I talked to the estimator again the same day but he could not tell me how long the special order would take or what it would cost. He said he would get back to me, so I said ok and assumed they were ordering the door. By September 19 I had not heard from them and I sent an email through their website to inquire about the status. At this time, I was told they had ordered the door and were waiting on its arrival and they would get back to me. Around the end of September, I found a buyer for my condo and we set a closing date for November 1. On October 5, I realized I had not heard back from Pronto and I called to check, as I told the buyer I would take care of the door prior to closing. The person I talked to at Pronto had no idea why I was calling and my original estimator was "no longer with them". He offered to have the manager call me. The manager called and said he'd look into the project and would get back to me. Later on October 5 I received a text (they tried calling first but I couldn't answer at the time) that asked me what the status of the door order is. So I replied and told him that as far as I knew Pronto had ordered the door. At this point we exchanged a few texts and I realized I would have to start at the beginning again with a new estimator, they'd still have to order the door etc. I told them to please refund my deposit and I would find someone else to do the work. They did refund the deposit. I wasted a month waiting for them to do work that they said they were doing and now I cannot replace the door before my closing and it puts my condo sale in jeopardy. The gentlemen I dealt with were all polite and timely but this situation has guaranteed I will never hire Pronto again.

I need to point out that this was a difficult review. Mainly because it reflects two different aspects of the job. The first part, the free quote: it was handled by a very friendly and warm young man. However, he did not have experience with the actual work to be done. And the only tool he had was an iPad with an app for calculating the cost of the job based on measuring the approximated size of the area affected. Hence, the quote was off by a lot when the workman came to assess the problem. So things started off badly with my dismay over the miscalculation. However, the company and we came to a middle ground and we went ahead with the repair. Part two: the workmanship by the pro was very good. He worked quickly and efficiently. He was courteous and kind. I rated him highly based on the final job done. The only other problem we encountered was the improper disposal of the materials removed. They were not bagged properly for our city waste company and he did not do a very thorough job of cleaning up the work area. I would hire them again because now I know the pitfalls and will make sure I address them up front. Overall they seem like a good company.

The price was expensive so I thought they (the company) did the work themselves but they subcontract out the work. The deck stairs were supposed to take a day and a half but it took 3 days. The reason was they sent one guy when it was a 2 man job. He did get the stairs up but the workmanship was not A1. The price below does not include supplies.

Not good. The post was not replaced as specified in the quote. The pricing was discounted as a result. It is not what I requested and what was initially quoted. The fascia and soffit work was done but instead of replacing pieces in some instances wood filler was used instead. Materials were left behind in my driveway as well as spent nails. The materials receipts were illegible so I am not sure what exactly was spent for materials. I also asked for some siding to be replaced which was quoted and that was that. It never went anywhere. They send out one man teams when two would be more efficient. Ricardo did the best he could but based on poor direction, work is not completed as quoted. I am disappointed to the say the least.

The worker was hired to install a fence gate and to create 2 steps from a porch to the ground. A view of the work indicated that the worker did not use a builder's square or other squaring device to square the materials before cutting those materials...he "eyeballed" it and the predictable results are not square. A post that was installed to accommodate the gate had rot on the upper surface. One step of the two steps was installed level and now collects rain because it was not installed with a slight cant to let water run off. At this writing, 2 steps are lifting. In effect, the whole job was slipshod. Mistakenly, I complimented the worker on his work quality and should have inspected the work before it was done. Lessons learned! The images tell the story. I do not recommend Pronto home repair.

Service was sloppy and very poorly done with incredibly misleading quote stating “color matching is very easy and almost never an issue”. I made it clear I believed the entire ceiling would likely need to be painted and they insisted a patched paint repair would suffice. The paint didn’t match (of course) and now they won’t come back unless I pay again for a full new repair. Completely unfair and unprofessional.

The person who came out first did an easy fix that didn't fix the door lock. True to their promise, the company honored the problem and sent someone out a few days later who earnestly repaired the lock. The first person also did not clean their messes, left dirty fingerprints on the wall, and didn't measure where to hang the curtains, so width and height are not consistent for four windows in the room. I will say, he put a screen that had come off back in the window, which took less than five minutes, as an extra. I think it all depends on the person you get. The second person was much more detail oriented. Prices were probably fair for the work done and travel to the job, but even the first person admitted these were easy jobs.

It was a disaster. The first person became ill after being here 2 hours, so they sent another person. He was slow, messy and tried to steal from us (we are expecting the money to be refunded). They sent a third person to finish the job. His work was much better but he had quite a mess to fix. I only gave a "D" because he was better, but otherwise would have rated an "F" A 2 day job turned into 3 weeks and delayed us on the other projects. Under the circumstances as soon as it started to turn bad they should have sent a supervisor here, and the money they owed us should have been handed to us rather than a transfer. Therefore the "F" rating for professionalism. Also, a partial refund on the work would have been nice for all the problems we had. And the mess that was left from the second person is causing us to to quite a bit of repainting. I would never recommend this company!!

When their name starts with "pronto" - they are definitely that! I sent them a message on Angies List and within minutes I got a call. They have set- up people who just set up your appt. so they immediately set me up at a time of my choice. The person was right on time (they give you only a 1 hour time span which is great ie: mine was 8:00 AM to 9:00AM) He was very efficient and knew exactly what to do - he was done within an hour and it looked great.
