In 2012 Gregg installed a $995.00 reverse osmosis unit. It did not yield water so I was then told that I needed to purchase a $300.00 water pressure pump. When they finally got it in several weeks later Gregg's assistant installed it. I had water for only a week, at which point the water pump broke for reasons unbeknownst to me. Gregg then replaced the filters and lo & behold I had drinking water. In other words, I never needed the pump, I only needed filters that were not defective.
Unfortunately, Gregg ignored all of my calls asking for the $300.00 refund for the pump which I never needed but was told I did. I only found this out because it broke within a week's time.
Within one month of working with him, I was sold two defective products.
A year later I had to move out to do renovations. Because Gregg was recommended by an acquaintance, I foolishly decided to give him another chance to install a replacement unit when I moved back a year and a half later. I left several voice mails telling him that I would like the same model installed again so long as I was credited for the $300.00 pump I clearly didn't need but was told I did along with the free filter change that was promised to me in my contract when I purchased my first system since I didn't have the chance to claim this offer due to needing to move out. My messages were ignored until I called the Puronics headquarters, (Gregg is a distributor from what I understand.)
Finally he called me back and said he would agree to my terms, "Only to make me happy and because he was a nice guy." He didn't actually think he owed me anything and kept saying that he was, "Doing me a favor," every time he did one shady thing after the next and I called him on it.
I paid him for the second unit and he got in in stock for me but then installed it at someone else home because he couldn't wait just a little while for me to make sure everything was okay with my plumbing first. As a result, he had to order another for me and this time it was on backorder and I had to wait several months more. He never apologized. He only said that he was more upset than me because the backorder was hurting his business. He saw nothing wrong with giving my paid merchandise to someone else.
He saw my new faucet prior to ordering my system and I sent him a photo of my countertop and faucet as well. I have a beautiful satin nickel vintage style faucet. When he finally showed up to install, he only brought with him a chrome modern one that was much too tall for my small kitchen. He tried to tell me that matching spouts were not on the market which was a lie because I later purchased one to go on another system from someone else, I will get to that in a minute.
The nail in the coffin was when Gregg installed the system under my sink and tubing first and left unscrewing the countertop hole cover for the filter spout till last. Because I live in a very old building, the hole cover stuck. He sprayed WD40 all over the area. The spray covered a rack full of clean dishes sitting a few inches from the hole cover. The underside of the sink was also contaminated with WD40, some of which I swiped off the next day and my paper towel wreaked of it. He didn't bother moving my dishes, nor did he bother protecting the open end of the tubing which was installed directly into my filter spout. He claims that the rust and WD40 will wash out and they are non toxic anyway. The MSDS claims that the WD40 is potentially fatal if ingested.

"Dear Ms. [Member name removed], as we stated in our email date May 11, 2015. On April 1, 2015 I installed a drinking system (Micromax 6500) at your residence at the above referenced property. All work was completed in a professional manner according to standards of practices. During the installation, your sink hole-cover on your kitchen sink was rusted and too tight to remove. I used a rust release spray directly on the cover (pictures of the rusted out parts were included in the original email) The spray was not sprayed nor applied to any other surfaces other than directly onto the hole-cover. Please see the pictures below of the hole-cover removed from your sink. The rust on the hole-cover was pre-existing and was not caused by our drinking system nor does it affect the filtration of our drinking system. Your request for a refund has been denied as the drinking system is not defective and was fully-operable. If you wish to have the drinking system re-installed the cost will be $99 (discounted rate, normally $175.00) assuming the plumber that removed the drinking system did not damage the system/ parts/ lines. In reference to the water pump, you failed to state that you had plumbing issues therefore a water pump was required at that time. After that we never heard back from you even after we sent out many reminders for filter replacements, until you called again asking for a new installation of a new system. We hope that this has addressed your concerns about the pre-existing rust under your sink. Thank you for being a valued customer, please don’t hesitate to call us if we can be of further assistance. Sincerely, Gregg Stewart"

We've been a customer with Puronics for over 4 years, and this is a trusted company that, unlike many companies these days, still has excellent customer service and follow through. We live in Westridge where the water quality is very poor (hard water) so Gregg is always diligent in making sure that our water treatment system is properly maintained and that our filters are serviced and replaced.
