This is a continuation of my earlier review and the company's false statements. As stated before, the guys actually doing the work are very hard workers however the water running down the ledge is not going into the pipe...instead, it appears to going behind and under it, the sump pump has not seen one drop of water. There is seepage in the middle of the floor so the water, while not pooling in the basement has been redirected. We paid to have a system installed that would function...not to have water redirected under the floor. We stand by our review. We have not asked this company to do anything different for free, we have wanted the situation resolved. Both husband and wife are on the same page. The husband is an experienced builder and actually used this company in a previous job which is why we hired them for our own home. The company response stating that we did not pay promptly is an utter lie and speaks to the way they treat their customers. The company was paid half up front on 12/12/16 and another check was sent right away after the job was completed. When the company didn't receive that check, they started to harass us with phone calls at 8:30 at night. The owner actually came to our house on 12/30/16 at 8:30 in the morning and received a second check which he deposited on 1/7/2017. Full payment was received well before 30 days. The first check was ultimately received by the company and then returned to us. Every single subcontractor we have used on this property has been paid promptly and continues to work with us. One thing I have corrected is the price we paid. Originally I had said it was @ $4,000. Since they commented that it was way below that I looked through our documentation. It was actually $3,500.

"This is so sad, We agreed to do extra work and when we went out, the husband told the crew to do work we had not agreed upon. As for harassing the customer it is patently untrue. In fact we did go out at 8:[Member Information Removed] am in the morning to collect a check BECAUSE THE HUSBAND TOLD US TO !!! This couple is completely dysfunctional and can never seem to communicate with each other."

The work was not completed to specifications, the water is not going into the pipe and sump pump. We think it may have to do with the way the pipe was installed. Charlie, the owner has promised for the past 10 MONTHS that his crew would fix it, and they have not done so. His crew are very hardworking so our complaint is not with them. It's with the fact that the owner of this company has not honored his contract or his word. I have never, ever written a negative review on anyone. Sometimes things don't work out due to no fault of the contractor. What is important however, is how that contractor addresses the situation and do what they can to make the situation right. Be aware that this contractor operates under a different set of principles.
Response from Quality Dry Basements Inc
"Here are the facts: They have not had any water since we installed their system ! 1. The basement used to flood every time there was more then a moderate rain. 2. We installed our system, having to cut through rock and ledge, an extremely difficult job. 3. The basement has never leaked or had a drop of water since we finished.. Because of the ledge the water now is redirected and does not go to the sump pump and may never unless we have an extreme storm. It really dosen't matter as the basement is now bone dry! The cost of the job was under $4,000 and it took us over a month to get paid, with excuses such as the check is in the mail, no stamp on envelope etc. We offered to come out do additional work, eeven though it was not needed ( which was agreed upon with the husband ) at NO cost to customer. We arrived and they decided they wanted us to do something entirely diffeerent. The husband and wife are never on the same page nd they constantly change agreed upon work to be performed for free."

THE guys were using my spray can of brake cleaner to breath in fumes. While the oil furnace was running, which could have blown up my home. The work has an undesirable look big chunky stones make the cement they replaced look like a 4 year old did the work. The drain pipes they put through foundation are tilted inward so water just comes back in to sumps I had to drive to 1 hour to put down payment then drive another hour to give final payment .Then drive another hour to get the lids for sumps It took him 6 months to get lids for them I WAS promised them in 2 weeks .I am still waiting for the transfer of the warranty for when i sell my home
Response from Quality Dry Basements Inc
"Mr [Member Name Removed] had his system installed over six months ago. His basement is bone dry and he never complained about anything after the install, in fact he raved about our work. My foreman is a retired police officer and we are respectful to our customers and their homes. He was not present at the time of completion so he did not pay the crew. therefore we needed to arrange collection of final payment. He offered to meet my assistant 20 minutes from his home. It was his idea, not ours. Unfortunately we did not have the lids to his sump pumps. We offered to bring them out when we got them. It did take us a month to get the lids and we called him numerous times to arrange a date to install them. It took him months to respond to us, evidently he had a fire at his home over the winter and was living with no heat. He finally got back to us and we got him his lids and warranty transfer agreement. In fact Mr. [Member Name Removed] has been texting my assistant with actual death threats towards me. I believe the man has serious problems beyond our work, which is working perfectly."

Terrible, the owner showed up once, wrote an estimate, when we agreed he sent over a contracted company that wasn't him, didn't know what i want, screwed it up multiple times, had to come fix it 7 times to be exact, got mud all over our entire basement, ceilings, walls, floors, wouldn't clean it, after 3 months of yelling and screaming to get it done, we thought we were finally done, then one of the pumps went out while under warranty. Charlie the owner stalled and waited 3 months to make an appointment for a new pump to tell me it wasn't in warranty anymore, of course not if it takes 3 months to get an appointment, IM now filing a lawsuit against these guys-DO NOT HIRE-THEY ARE FRAUDS. Ive been using craigslist for years, and this is literally the only company IVE HAD ANY ISSUES WITH.
Response from Quality Dry Basements Inc
"Mr [Member Name Removed] took one year to file a complaint. In fact he paid $8000 for his project , not $12,000. also please note, he has never been wet since we installed his system other then leaks s from the middle of the floor caused by his contractor finishing the basement The reason for his complaint is he refusal to pay for a service call. We did install his waterproofing system in November 2016. After the install the customer did not complain about any mess. Unfortunately we did have to return twice to fix leaks caused by his contractor shooting nails into the floor when finishing the basement. We fixed these problems at no cost to the customer. About two months ago he complained about one of his pumps not working properly. We sent a technician out and found a tennis ball, which his dog probably dropped in the sump pit stuck ,in the pump . Obviously this is not our fault. We removed the ball and guess what the pump runs fine. We sent a bill and he has refused to pay."

"This is a very unfortunate case. In fact we have an At rating with the Better Business Bureau. We occasionally have to go back to difficult jobs and fix small problems and we always do, promptly and with out charge. We stand by our work and have thousands of installations and they ALL work. This customer signed a contract with us previous to the work we performed and cancelled her contract due to a lack of money to pay the contract. A year and a half later she contacted us and signed to have her basement fixed. We did install a system for this first time home owner over a year and a half ago. The customer has an old house with crawl spaces and a basement. We did a large amount of work , and tore out a rotted old basement that flooded. In the early fall of 2015 the customer called and told us she had moisture on her floor. It was 96 degrees and it rained a o 1/4 of an inch . There is noway the system didnt work as we where and still are in a severe drought.: It was condensation that had caused a puddle in the middle of her floor as her space is not air conditioned.. She refused to believe us.She also claimed her pump was not working We sent a technician out to check her pump. which she claimed was not working. It was working and we showed her it was working. Without ever calling us back, she cancelled her credit cards . She never informed us she had any type of problem after our service call. The credit card company just gave her her money back. The judge told us, he had no choice but to rule against us because we the credit card company ruled she was due the money. We stand behind our product and in fact if anything was actually wrong we would have fixed it. However we were not notified of anything wrong! The customer found a way to get a system for free!"

lWell. The basement was a damp dungeon prior to installation. Now, it's dry and usable. We also had a contractor install a new powder room and floor and lots of closets. We can now use the basement for extra living space.

The first step involved trenching the inside perimeter of the basement slab, which was relatively new and required substantial work with jack hammers (very dusty and noisy). The trench was about 18" wide and 18" deep to accommodate the perforated pipe and the surrounding material consisting of hard plastic "peanuts" to facilitate drainage. Workmen also installed corrugated plastic on the vertical wall surfaces so that should any water enter higher up on the wall it would be directed into the trench. The trench was then covered with a clear plastic vapor barrier, after which cement was floated over everything and leveled with the rest of the slab. NOTE: the trenching is very destructive and the workmen will remove any finished elements - baseboard, sheetrock, framing, carpet etc. - to access the walls and foundation. Be prepared to budget repair work on any already-finished areas once the work is done.

The team was invariably punctual, thoughtful and kept the work area clean. Charlie stopped by regularly to ensure the project was moving along as planned and helpful throughout. When finished, the crew cleaned up well and left the site in good shape, although it took some time finally to get rid of the dust. My only disappointment was that the backup batteries were left in their cases on the floor, when it seemed that they should have been up on a shelf away from harm.

The good news is that our basement has not seen any moisture since the system was installed. We've experienced some bad storms combining rain over frozen ground and snow and water clearly was getting through the foundation. We saw the pumps moving significant amounts of water out of the house and the system has been completely reliable. Finally we were able to finish the basement as we'd hoped because we're confident the drainage system is protecting the investment.

After a horrible job done by an incompetent contractor, we called several companies for estimates to correct the job. Very happy we chose Quality Dry! It's been over 6 months since the completed job and not a drop of water in our basement. We went through Hurricane Sandy and plenty of rain this past year and we have not had any issues. We did have a faulty pump that quality dry came and replaced immediately. No complaints as of yet. And if we do, im sure they will take care of it as their customer service is very good. would definately recommend.

Outstanding all-around! Owner was professional, responsive, caring, and interested. Price was very fair. Workers were neat, barely noticed they were there. It has been nearly a year and we have not had a drop of water in our basement since. Not bad for a basement that used to flood every big storm! We even finished the basement because we finally feel we are safe from water invading again. We would higly recommend Quality Dry Basements to anyone looking to have their basement waterproofed.

Owner personally came to my house to give me an estimate and details of the entire job. The crew was in my house within 2 days. The job was completed in 1 day.
With all of the snow we had back in 2011, not 1 drop of water entered my basement. The pump worked like a charm when the snow started to melt outside my home.
A great job done. I can sleep at night even during the most severe rainstorms thanks to this company.

The work performed has so far been perfect. The process only took a couple of days. Quality Dry took care of taking up the existing floor and baseboard. The workers were very efficient and the clean up was excellent. They were very attentive and explained the progress throughout each step of the project. We have not had anymore incidences of water, dampness or mold. The system they installed takes care of any potential flooding issues. Our room is now useable at last. I would definitely recommend Quality Dry Basements to any one requiring this type of work.

On September 5, 2011, I had an appointment with a representative from Quality Dry Basement. His name was Jesse Goldstein. This was the second estimate I received. I also got an estimate from midatlantic but they were too expensive. I agreed to go with Quality Dry Basement. The work began on September 29th and was completed on October 1st as discussed. After everything was installed, the back up pump didn't work. The installer(Glen) told me he ordered me a new pump and he would have it by Monday, October 3rd. Glen told me he would call me on Monday to set up a day and time to come and install the new pump. A week went by and I didn't receive a phone call. I called the company and spoke to the owner, Charlie. He said he would have to speak to Glen and he would put me on the board so that he wouldn't forget. Whatever that meant?? Charlie also told me it would take 7 to 10 days to come in because no one had pumps. Two weeks went by and I called and left a message about the pump. No one returned my call. After 3 days, I called and left another message. The owner finally called me back the week of October 24th and said the pump came in and Glen(the installer) will call me to come out and install the pump that week. I never received a call. I called and left a message on Monda, November 4th inquiring about the pump. I received a call from the secretary. She had no ideal what was going on. She took my name, number, and what the problem was and told me she will get back to me. Today is Friday, November 18th, I haven't received a call from Quality Dry Basment and I still don't have a working back up pump. The installer left the pump that nonworking pump. I will never use or recommend this company to anyone. They don't value their customers and are very unprofessional. I left another message on November 16th and still have not gotten a response.

"We did have a problem getting backup pumps after Hurricane Irene. Our supplier but us on back order. We did receive pumps several weeks later, but we then got slammed with a snow storm and power outages which put us on delay for service calls. We apologize to the member and we definitely " dropped the ball " on exchanging her defective pump. Fortunately she was never without a working pump and she has never had a drop of water since we installed her system, and we have had some very bad rain storms!"

many many phone calls the actual work main part only took two days once3 started Two months later some cosmetic finishing touches still waiting
Response from Quality Dry Basements Inc
"The work to be performed was a total waterproofing system, including sump pumps and mold remediation. It was completed in three days , in a timely fashion. Our company was to put back some dry wall and molding. We sent a contractor out to this work 10 days after our work was completed, due to the fact that the concrete needs to cure before the finish work can commence. The home owner met with the contractor and asked him to estimate the moving of a bathroom and other items not covered by our contract. This additional work, not disclosed to us, unnecessarily prolonged or completing our work and getting paid from the client. We waited over one moth to get paid. The client eventually hired our contractor for her "extra " work at her expense. The entire delay was due to the customers change in work to be done, outside of our contract. The customer has a fully functioning waterproofing system and is bone dry for the first time in 10 years."
