The drywall seams done 14 years ago were very poorly done. We are remodeling and repainting. Reggie Spooner assured me he would make it all look as good as it could, and he was right.
Reggie calls when he says he will call. He comes when he says he will come. He does what he says he will do.
His prices are very reasonable.
I've never been more pleased to pay a contractor.
He didn't come out but he did give me a solution that I could use to get into my safe that worked for me. He was very helpful. I wouldn't hesitate to contact him again.

The work was excellent. He did a great job and our garage looks awesome. He had a special going and we decided to try him out and we were pleasantly surprised. We were knocked out by their responsiveness and punctuality. Their quote was right in line with what we were wanting to pay. I am fairly picky when it comes to work in general and they did a great job.

They showed up on time, did a wonderful job - filled holes for me, along with painting. I'd definitely use them again.
It turned out pretty good. He was punctual and did the job when he said he’d do the job. He did a pretty good job. He came out in less than 2 weeks. I guess the price is pretty much like everybody else.

Our only complaint is that he did not protect the large window in our entry or the items inside our closet when he sprayed the paint. We had to take everything out of the closet and clean it, though thankfully it was not difficult. For the window, I had to scrape all the overspray off with a razor blade. Still, we are happy with the result and it looks very nice.

It started off shaky because he had to reschedule once - that was fine. Then he tried to reschedule a second time. I had to put my foot down because we were working around my day off. The paint job was excellent and he was professional. He needs to stop overbooking and get himself an assistant.

He is horrible. He didn’t know how to set a door. He didn’t know how to do electrical. He is not a handyman. He doesn’t know how to do anything. It took him 8 hours to take out a door and put a door in which should be a 3 and a half hour job. It’s not really worth it. I won’t use him again. I even had one of my other handymen who were working on something else to tell him how to set the door properly. It was a complete waste of money. He is a nice guy but he doesn’t know what he’s doing. He got the job done but it took way too long.
Response from Quality Prep & Paint DBA
"the reason this job took so long is because of the security device that was there and the door was not put in properly so I had to repress opening in order to put the new door in .he called me the next day and said his neighbor told him that he needed a fireproof door there and he got mad at me because I could not get right back to change the door outand was mad because they was going to be another charge for switching out the door I got the door that he told me to get just like the one that was there never told me to get a fireproof door I honestly don't feel it's right that he gave me this kind of report my past reviews show the type of work I do"

He did an excellent job, very thorough and ensured that wall was sanded to perfection and ready for paint. He even went way beyond the job to mount a door stop for me to ensure door could not hit the wall again.. I was very pleased with his professionalism and attention to detail in ensuring job was perfect! Punctual, and appreciated his understanding of timing with other contractors to ensure work completed on schedule. Highly recommend!!!
.

The job was good, however, he ended up charging more than the big deal - he applied the coupon price to the total price. I didn't like that, but I was in a bind and needed it done.

"the big deal handyman for a day was for exterior rotten wood repairs and paintingit took me a day and a half to do this and there was no additional charges the additional charges came with her husband asked me to repaint the whole interior of the housethere must have been some lack of communication between the two of them her husband seemed very pleased and happy with all the work"

We purchased a Big Deal from Angies list for so many man hours of work. He called us and asked us what we would like done. We explained that we had investment property that needed sheetrock and various repairs. We made an appointment for him to come look at it. He was late arriving to our investment property. We were just about to leave when he called my husband's cell and told us he was at our place of residence. We gave him the address of the investment property, yet again, and he arrived there in about 20 minutes after his phone call. He got out of his van and proceeded to tell us that he never makes any money on "The Big Deal"! Then he tried to sell us some kind of vitamin juice, gave us pamphlets on the stuff and proceeded to tell us that his wife was bitten by a recluse spider and that she never had to go to the doctors for they treated it with this vitamin stuff he was promoting and she healed up nicely, and he had the pictures to prove it, so he said. He came in and gave us an estimate of $3,000 to tear out the OUTSIDE walls and put in the insulation and re sheetrock, all of the materials were supplied by my husband and I. The walls that he wouldn't tear out he would fill in the holes and repair them to as as good as new and he would re sheetrock the kitchen and living room ceillings. He also said he would trim out the doorways and windows and remove a window in the kitchen, all which was included in the price. He came with his team, two other men, who were his sons. He had one of his sons insulate the ceilings, which was also included in the price. When my husband came to inspect the insulation of the ceilings, he noticed that the insulation was put in BACKWARDS. AT this point, Reggie showed up and seemed a bit agitated with his son. My husband voiced the mistake made by Reggie's son, that the insulation was put in backwards, and Reggie said, he would make sure tol fix it, and they did! We gave them the key to our investment property so they could come and go easier without waiting on one of us to open the door. Reggie spent 1 to 2 days sheetrocking the rooms after tearing out the outside walls, the trim around the doors and windows and insulating.they left for the week and came back on a weekday the following week. We showed up to view the progress. Reggie was complaining of having no money to pay his sons. I offered to give him a check for $1500, half of the agreed quote and he accepted. He came back another day to do some more work. When my husband asked him what about the window he was supposed to take out. Reggie said he didn't recall this in the quote. Then my husband asked him about the trim, and he said that wasn't in the quote either. I explained to him that I had a vacation coming up in two weeks and that I would like the work done by then. He said okay, left and never showed up again. My husband had a few things that he had to touch up before Reggie and his crew could finish the kitchen sheetrock, he explained this to Reggie and he voiced he was fine with that. Reggie never showed again. He did call my husband about 6 weeks later asking when would be a good time to finish up. My husband and I decided that their work was shoddy and we would not continue with them. We consider our loss and moved on.
"when we went and looked at the work for the bridges I gave them a quote of $3000 to demo the house insulate the house and re hang the sheetrock that's what the $3000 paid for I told them that we could finish paint and trim the house they said that they would get back to me I waited four to six weeks and then I called them to ask them if they wanted me to finish the workI actually tried calling several times in that six week.and at that time they told me they were out of money and wanted to finish it them self so I moved on to my next job my past reviews in grades should speak for their self I don't know how $3000 and demo and remodel all hole inside of a house that is not possiblethey were obviously confused wanted to finish their work but they did not have the money I can not work for nothing"

Overall, we were satisfied with the end results. The ceiling and paint were done well and the stairs are a vast improvement. The only small issue is that there were a few times that Reggie called to say he was running a few hours late because of another job which was not a huge deal for me since I could leave the basement unlocked and didnt have to change my schedulembut it would have been annoying if that weren't the case.

The service was excellent. Reggie was on time every day. I appreciated how he used his own paint, and did not even charge me anything extra for that. It was an emergency call situation, and he was out there right away. Afterwards I decided I would ask him to come back and paint my living room, ceiling, and hallway after some electrical work was done. He came back out, and was able to get that job done within about 4 days. I could tell he really took his time with preperation to make sure everything was done correctly. The job was fantastic. His lines were precise, crisp, and clean. I would recommend him.
