I don't know just yet. On 7/14/17 I paid the initial special through Angie's List of $239 for 200 sq.ft. Because my deck is 385.50 sq.ft. more than that, it will cost me $460.67 additional, which is perfectly understandable. I finally met them on 8/16/17 and paid them $345.52, which is 75% of the additional work. The owner told me they would do it the week of 8/20 starting on 8/22. Completely surprised upon returning home from vacation that it hadn't been done. I didn't hear from them until 7/31. Owner explained it by saying he had been injured on the job, had a non-fatal car accident and had 2 employees quit. I try to be understanding, but the communication from them/him is not good. Hopefully, they will start and finish week of 8/27. I can't comment on the work quality until then. Update - I have still not heard from the owner by email, text, or phone and it is 9/7/17.

The provider took months to call me back. He finally did a week ago. He came out to wash my decks and set an appointment for yesterday to stain them. He never showed up. The washing they did do stripped wood off of my deck, all over my deck. I have paid him $104.00 of my own money.
Response from Quality Services
"Miss [Member Name Removed]David chernow here with quality services I'm sorry if you feel that your deck wasn't pressure washed properly sometimes wood over age rots really bad also along with the old paint that your deck was painted if I remember correctly I recommended for you to have your deck replaced due to the damage it's taken over time and said I really didn't feel pressure washing it was best for your deck ( we always leave it up to the customer ) and per your instructions we did the pressure washing and you came out and inspected it and because we pressure washed it so lightly it didn't take much time to do I just charged you for the pressure washing and said I don't believe we can stain it because the age and damage to it but if you want us to we will and you moved to have it stained so I set you an appointment up for Thursday aug 24th"

Great. They were respectful, responded to all of my questions and issues. I initially purchased the deal they had on Angie's list and cancelled it when I didn't get a call back. They eventually reached out to me and apologized for the delay explaining that the weather had put them behind. I was very happy with their work and responsiveness when they were able to work with me.

I was con-ed into giving a deposit for additional work to paint my fence. The kept canceling and will not proform any work. I have requested a refund of my deposit and they will not answer a phone call or a text. I went to the address on file and it's a run down home.

The work was not completed. Partly because I did not want to have that mess coated/sealed. The owner would not make it right. He would not provide a license number or a contract for any further work. Then had the nerve to ask for a 75% deposit to buy stain and two deck boards that needed to be replaced. He was paid $169 and was not professional enough to complete the service. Don't use this company! They are not run professionally and don't show any integrity or pride in work. He doesn't have any licensing. Look it up for yourself.

David showed up on time and did some extra work like pick up drywall for me and deliver it , but the fence work was so-so. They didn't cut the bottoms of the new fence pieces off evenly with the old fencing, so I had to call them back to fix that, which they did. They installed a new gate handle and it was flimsily made and after 4 months, has now broken off, so I have to go replace that one. Nice guys overall, but workmanship needed a little polish.

DO NOT HIRE! David installed the fence in our new house. Once installed, we noticed quality issues with the work - large gaps between the pickets, warped and bowing boards, misaligned boards, pickets with no nails, the list goes on. Very poor craftsmanship. The fence looks so bad that multiple neighbors complained to our HOA and filed complaints about our fence! I called David to come back out and he has yet to return a phone call or email on the issue. The first call regarding the issues was made two and a half weeks ago with no response, multiple calls and emails since have gone unanswered. We made a huge mistake to hire and trust him - he never emailed me an invoice, did not send all receipts from our payments to him. We even paid him in full prior to the completion of the fence because he said there was an issue with the materials. That was our fault for trusting him, but don't fall for it!! His website states he is licensed and insured and from our research, he is not. His website says he offers a 1 year warranty which he does not, he won't return your call! We now have to call a different contractor to come out and fix the mess David has left us with. However, I've talked to multiple contractors who are unwilling to come behind and correct issues like this.

I guess I’ll start at the beginning meeting David Chernow after getting a fair quote for a fence for my back yard. He said he was a little backed up and it would be about a month before he would start on construction. Needing a fence for my dog in a hurry I hesitantly agreed because I didn’t have time to be told the same thing by other contractors. Being Spring and tax return season I was sure that would be the standard wait time. I deposited almost $2k on March 8th and waited, and waited, and waited. The contract David provided included construction start date range and a 7 rain day buffer which I thought was reasonable. After missing the due date of April 18th by almost 3 weeks I decided to call and see what was up. The gentleman who answered said they were behind because the 811 utility marking (Before you Dig) services were backed up by over 3 weeks. This sounded strange to me so I called 811 services to confirm and was told there was absolutely no call in to them for my address. Lie number one. I called back and told Quality Services this and he said they didn’t call 811 and they batch them somehow which was almost believable. So I asked that he send me evidence of that and I never heard back. I’ve reconfirmed with utilities that that was another lie. After waiting a few more days I was called by Quality Services who apologized on the delay and asked if they could come out on the May 10th to start. The contract stated they would begin construction by April 18th and finish by April 25th with rain delays. I had previously rescheduled vacation to accommodate the original date range so I could be there to show them where the property lines were after getting an official survey done. Some of my neighbors were very sensitive to the lines and I wanted to be home if any issues or questions arise. May 10th was a Wednesday so I took a vacation day to make it happen. By Wednesday afternoon it was clear they were not coming so I called and left a message. I got a call back with another apology and was told David and his crew were working a previous job until 10pm the night before and still hadn’t finished and could they push until the 12th which was a Friday. At this point I was upset and let Debbie who was obviously the scheduler/back office person know that a courtesy call would have been appreciated so I wouldn’t have wasted a vacation day. Point of fact I would have appreciated a couple of courtesy calls at this point. She apologized profusely and agreed this “wouldn’t happen again”. So for some reason I accepted the peace offering and decided it was worth going forward if they would commit to being there on the 12th. Friday the 12th. Another vacation day taken. Another empty promise. Another missed opportunity to give me a courtesy call. I waited until 10 am and received my “courtesy” call the day they were supposed to be there that they wouldn’t be making it again. I demanded my money back and asked to speak to David. He listened to my complaints like it was the first he was hearing of them and said he would be at my house the following morning, Saturday instead of the Monday they were trying to re-schedule me to. Since I was talking to David I felt like maybe he was trying to salvage his companies’ reputation and a client so I relented and said “let’s build a fence!” Saturday came and so did Quality Services!!! However they had forgotten to call 811 and have utilities marked. They proceeded anyway and all of the post holes were dug and about half of them got concrete. So Monday comes and goes and you would think two days is enough time for concrete to cure right? Why weren’t they here on the day they were trying to reschedule me to in the first place? I get a call around 7pm Monday evening from Debbie that they weren’t going to make it on Tuesday. What about Monday and we are already talking about Tuesday? Debbie says they had to reschedule a job they had on Saturday to accommodate me, so Monday they are working that job and apparently Tuesday as well. I mean what was the original plan here? Am I even on their schedule or are they just trying to squeeze me in between jobs that are important to them? Debbie tells me they will be working all day Wednesday on my fence. Wednesday comes and goes and it looked like they did about a solid hour’s worth of work for one man and hung a handful of rails (2”x4”s) between a few posts. I remember fondly and chuckle when David told me this would be a two day job. To boot, instead of stacking all the lumber in my yard yet to be nailed up they’ve thrown a haphazard stack in my neighbor’s yard on fresh soil he had recently seeded with Bermuda and completely tore it all up. My neighbor came knocking my door understandably upset and I had to call Quality Services and complain again. Thursday May 18th a lone guy was here for a few hours and left as soon as I showed up around 12:30. He never came back. I called and nobody at the office at the time had any idea where he was at 3:30pm. I got a call back from Debbie that the single man crew went home with a bout of heat stroke. At this point I am considering reporting Quality Services to the BBB. Two months and 10 days since signing the contract and I didn’t see the end in sight. David Chernow called me later that night because he heard I was concerned. I asked him when construction was supposed to be complete. He said it would be finished on Saturday the 20th. I expressed that if construction wasn’t finished barring bad weather I would be walking away from our agreement. He committed to having it finished by then. Friday appeared to be a pretty full day of work. Hard to say as I was working, but most of the pickets were hung when I arrived. Once I showed they began to call it a day. I did a walk around and was very concerned with a large number of issues. Four to six posts still had no concrete at all and were just stuck in a hole and covered with mud. There was 10-15” of play (movability) at the top of these posts. Looking down the long side of the fence it scarcely resembled a straight line and between two posts had between 4-6” of deviation of a straight line. I found a number of posts twisted at almost 45 degrees off of square. I found the gate not close to square, I found pickets that were off center and even overlapping. I found rails not having an adequate number of nails barely attached to the posts, I found many pickets and rails with nails that had missed their mark and were exposed, a safety hazard for my young daughter. Cosmetically there were some things also too. Destroyed patches of grass from gasoline spills, torn up yard with no attempt to repair, unfilled empty post holes, etc. David arrived alone Saturday on our agreed upon finish date. He worked for about 10 minutes then knocked on my door. He said he noticed the non-straight fence to which I proceeded to show him all of the other things I’ve listed in the previous paragraph. He blamed it on his employee, but said he wanted to make it right by some form of discount. I told him I wanted to pay the agreed upon price and do the job correctly and he agreed and said he would make it right. I felt he was going to make the effort to salvage the job and I felt what other choice did I have at this point!? Monday the 22nd: David and his helper were onsite to what I thought was correct the issues and scallop the tops of the pickets. The radius they used for the scallops must have been freehand, because I’ve never seen such shoddy work. The arch which should look like a slight curve sometimes resembled something closer to an “S”. Every single issue I had pointed out to David was not addressed. The posts without concrete were not pulled and re poured. I dug and found mud, rocks, and some wood scraps had been crammed into them an attempt to hide that no cement was used. The twisted posts were not addressed, nor the overlapping pickets, nor the exposed nails, or problems with things being remotely square. This, I found was after David had left the job and left me a voicemail saying they were done and we needed to settle up. He said they would ad

Shoddy workmanship. Can't get them to answer their phone. It has been over four months to get this done. When they completed the job they bullied my wife into paying the last installment saying she was in breach of contract. Even when I said they needed to redo the fence. Still trying to get them to redo all the problems. All I get is excuses. Still waiting on them to reply.

As this was my first ever pressure washing of a house, it is hard for me to judge comparatively. They worked hard and removed all of the algae and most of the dirtiness. There was still some light staining on gutter sides and eave parts, and they readily acknowledged it - but I honestly don't know if that staining can be removed by any efforts - they did remove most of it. Overall, I'm pleased with the work. For those not readily able to calculate square footage of a house's exterior surfaces, such as myself, it is worth noting that my 1900 floor square footage home had 3800 square feet of siding, so unless your house is extremely small, be prepared to pay much more than what the Angie's list deal is for (2000 sq feet). Mind you I'm not complaining, the cost was worth it, but this is just a warning for others so they won't get sticker shock. $200 for the deal through angie's, plus $450 surcharge. Without the deal, it would have been $950 total

We signed a service contractor agreement on 25 April 2017 with Owner of Quality Services of Simpsonville to construct a 4 rail farm fence on our property for the amount of $1931. At signing, the owner of company collected $965.50 as a deposit (50% due now, 50% at project completion) and both parties signed the written agreement. We were looking forward to having this project completed within the 14 day window which was agreed upon in the written contract. Project completion was expected by May 14, 2017. We received a phone call on May 4, 2017 informing us the project was delayed due to the weather impacting previous job sites and delayed our project until May 6th, which was also acceptable as the contract allows 7 rain days. On May 10th, we received a phone call stating the project would be delayed until May 19th. Verbal approval was given by us to the company to reschedule even though it was out of the written contract period. Then again the project was rescheduled, this time for May 26th. Then on May 26th at 2:42am we received an email from the company informing us of an injury to the Owner on a different job site which the doctor placed him out of work for at least 2.5 weeks. On June 1st, 2017, I emailed the Owner asking for a refund since the project had not been started or materials ordered as of that date. The owner has yet to respond to the email. On June 2, 2017, I tried to reach company by phone and left a voicemail. The company has yet to respond to either the phone or email.

Did exceptional work, but postponed three times. Owner, David was very nice and helpful. Owner was not aware of the trouble I had. I had given someone at office the stain number. Once had postponed due to weather and then postponed due to someone at office did not follow through on indicating the stain color I had chosen. Then received a call they found email that I had sent with stain number. David came out and the stain was transparent which would not work on my deck, he assisted and was very helpful in picking out a stain. He went over what had to be done to reschedule and assist with stain to get the job accomplished. He came out memorial day to do the job which was a holiday, only issue I had was he was late in the morning getting there and with previous experience I was not sure he was coming, tried to call but mail box full and could not reach anyone, needed to find out if he was planning on coming. I do not want to give him a bad review because he is very pleasant and helpful and indicated he has addressed the issue of scheduling appointments. He also upgraded the stain since I had experienced the trouble with scheduling.

David and his crew performed the installation of a driveway gate for us. I procured the gate, posts, automatic openers, accessory systems, wiring, etc. ahead of the installation. It took us a while to find a quality contractor that was willing to perform the “labor only” and didn’t force us to purchase the gate materials as part of a package. We appreciated David’s willingness to take on this type of working arrangement. We consulted with David along the way right up to the installation date. He was courteous responsive with his guidance. Overall, we found the timeliness of work and pricing to be very reasonable. We had a some subtle changes to the work scope along the way; however, David was able to maintain his original estimate. We needed to trench about 300’ of wire from the house to the road. David and his crew were willing to pick-up, use, and return our rental equipment for us – we appreciated this. In the spirit of full disclosure, here are the reasons I’m unable to give an “A” rating. (1) The cut in the driveway is not parallel to the gate … so it’s a slightly diagonal cut. Recommend snapping a chalk line, etc. Measure 2x, cut 1x. (2) Burial of the 300’ of wire was done somewhat quickly and the wire was a little taught … I’ve had to take time to re-bury several sections, (3) Misalignment of holes drilled into the gate posts (off by 3” … this is a lot) … this was done in haste by a crew member, not David. I did have to plug/paint the area for aesthetics and rust avoidance. The posts are 100 pound, 4”x4” steel which I had procured separately … more care needs to be taken with the accuracy of measurements.

Unfortunately things did not go as to plan. My wife and I are very disappointed in the quality of work/ workmanship that we received. In the beginning we purchased our own material for the job and was give a quote/ contract based on this. We were told that the job would take 3 days to complete. However after 3 weeks the job still hasn't been completed to our satisfaction. Looks like more material will have to be purchased and someone else hired to help fix and finish the job. We will not use Quality Services again.

It is still not done. We first want to point out that David Chernow and staff/partners have all been pleasant to speak with when we have had to contact them, but it has taken a very long time to get the work done. He is not to be held responsible for the horrific weather we've experienced lately, but it seems that other jobs have jumped in front of our job after we were promised to be first in line after the rains passed etc. If it rained on Monday, they'd be at our house on Tuesday...or Wednesday or the first non-rain day on the calendar. We've waited patiently for "need 24 hours" and "family emergencies" and "someone will be there at 6 pm" several times now. On Monday, April 3 David finally showed up and bleached the deck. He had visited a week prior to assess the work (we were told he would be there to begin work) and as it turned out, he didn't have bleach on his truck or the appropriate pressure washer. Hmmmmmm. I offered a gallon of bleach we had just purchased for other house maintenance projects, but he had more important things to do. There are 3-4 grocery stores in a 3 mile radius from our neighborhood if my bleach wasn't the right kind...A promise to be there the next day was made. Well, it rained. He gets a pass. Then the promise to keep us first on the calendar etc. Finally on April 3, David and another staff member showed up to bleach the first layer of grime off of our deck. He noted that we needed to replace 4 boards and for a very reasonable price and an agreement to take a check, he would return after the tornadoes passed the next day. No show on Tuesday and Wednesday brought more horrendous storms. Thursday was Carolina blue sky clear. no show. Friday we were promised a 6 pm visit for the second pressure washing and the sealant to be applied. No show, no text, no email. No dinner plans either. After we emailed Monday, April 10 to see if we would ever get on the calendar and get to use our deck and get our money's worth, we were promised someone would be at our deck, pressure washer in hand with sealant and (we thought replacement boards as discussed Tornado Monday) at 5:45 pm I was wondering just how scathing I should be or not be. The UPS delivery guy arrived the same time Quality Services guys arrived. Not sure if UPS didn't deliver them to us. No boards to replace, no bleach, no notes in our file that these things were discussed, only a "it wasn't part of their original plan offer." This crew agreed to use our bleach, were honest enough to tell us that if it wasn't clear this time, it wasn't going to get any clearer looking and more bleach would indeed damage the wood. God Bless them, they worked for an hour to make it shine. However, it was then too late for the sun to dry the deck and we were promised that they would be back "tomorrow after the last client" to apply the sealant. We will be sealing over boards that will most likely survive another couple of years, but wouldn't it be grand to have it done right? I think Quality Services has the right idea and price point. In general, I would restate that they are very nice, just overwhelmed with the work load they've taken on and unable to manage their own up-sales and calendars.
