They did the job correctly both resealing the deck and replacing a broken board. I saw the workers come into our yard with the replacement board and thought all was going well. When I returned from my basement office I realized the deck was restrained in the wrong color. The company (Bill) admitted completely that they had made a mistake. The color we had chosen was not the color on the deck--not even close. He apologized and offered a discount which I accepted. A few days later he called and offered to do the the deck in the color we had chosen which I thought was a wonderful offer and agreed and I would pay the difference subtracting the discount basically going back to wear we started. When I tried to schedule the restaining he went back on his word and said he would lose money and could not do the new stain. Let's start from the very beginning as Julie Andrews told us a very good place to start in The Sound of Music . THEY DID THE WRONG COLOR TO START!
Response from Queen City Pressure Washing
"This is basically a bold faced lie. We agreed on a discount to make up for our mistake. The customer was in agreement. HE CALLED ME and suggested that he would pay the rest of what had been discounted if we changed the color. I told him I would lose money and reminded him that we made good by doing the discount which he had suggested. Now he was trying to go back on his word, I countered with him paying me back the discount plus the cost of the stain which he declined. and now he wants to give us a bad review ??? No wonder we stopped using Angies list."

After having these guys wash the outside of the office building where I work, I gave them a shot at my house. They washed the outside of my house and were able to remove about 4 years worth of algae and the house looks great again. Our deck was heavily neglected for about 7 years and they washed it, replaced some wood and made sure all of the nails and screws were tight. What a difference just washing it made. On the second day, they came back and sealed it after I had picked out a color. I had doubts as to how good it could look again because of being neglected for so long. When I got home from work, I was surprised to see the guys just finishing up and could not believe how well the deck turned out. Its not new, but I never thought it would look as good as it does. I will deff use them again when the deck is due to be done again.

The job went very well as expected. Bill came out and did a thorough walk around and gave me a detailed estimate. The work was expected to take 3 days but was however done in 2. The guys were on time both days, and were very polite and professional. The outside of our building looks almost like a whole new building again except for the aging of the brick. We will deffinatly use these guys again. They were also able to get rid of the horrible smell around our dumpster area.

After some weather delays, they did an okay job power washing our deck; They started staining the deck and then began the repairs/modifications. At this point, we paid them what they had estimated for power washing and staining. The repairs/modifications were not up to our standards at all. Spindles were crooked. Walls were not plumb. Mitered joints did not meet . . . and were filled in with extra wedges of wood and inches of wood putty. We called the owner and told him of our dissatisfaction; he offered to find some different carpenters; but we decided to call if quits with Queen City and not have them come back or pay them. We ended up doing all the repairs/modifications ourselves, and then staining those repairs/modifications. We would not recommend Queen City for anything other than power washing, and like we said, they really only did a "okay" job on the power washing.

"The deck received a good washing. It has to be washed well in order for the stain to take. As for repairs, customer wanted a new piece of privacy fence put on an older deck. New and old sometimes don't work well together as was the case. It was explained to the customer at time of estimate that we did not do some of the types of repairs that he wanted. at his urging, we decided to try to help him out. We did not accept any money for the attempt at any of the repairs. He was out nothing. The only thing we charged for was the washing and sealing of the deck which in the pictures the workers took, look great. Every company has a few bad reviews because you can't please all of the people all of the time. However, we try to make all of the customers happy."

Deck stain was not done completely. Old color bled through and parts of the deck not stained well.
Response from Queen City Pressure Washing
"customer was advised to go with a darker color due to the amount of stain that was currently on there. he did not want to put the extra labor into sanding the rest off as was described to him at the time of the estimate. He was advised that with a lighter color, some of the old may bleed through. A heavy coat of stain was put on the entire deck. when our guys left, they took pictures to bring back to the office and this was a fine job well done. The customer walked around the deck with them at the end of the job and approved the work before paying."

We called for a quote, asking specifically if they also did the eaves trough, and they called back within a half hour and gave us the quote for the house and eaves trough. He said he pulled up a picture of our house online and quoted it that way. We were a little uneasy about this because our house is a Cape Cod in the front, but the back is a full-size two-story house. The quote sounded reasonable, so we hired them. They came out within a few days, and were actually early. The two-man crew was very nice and friendly. They immediately told my wife that there was a problem, that they may not have enough hose and asked if they could use our hose, which was fine and they did. When they were done, my wife went out and looked at the work with them, although that was her idea, not theirs. A good part of the eaves trough was untouched, including one of the end caps which was still black with dirt and mold. When she asked about that, they told her it was "staining" that wouldn't come off. On the side of the house that was the worst, with the most mold, they told her they couldn't get some spots because the slope of the land made it unsafe, so the bottom half was done, but not the upper half. The dormers on the front of the house are done, but there are places that were missed. Unfortunately, I wasn't there or I wouldn't have paid them the total amount. I know that the eaves troughs can be cleaned better because I did them last time, and got almost all of the mold off--it just takes a little elbow grease! There are parts of the eaves trough that you can see where they cleaned and it looks good, but just missed another spot further on and left it like that. We expected a professional job because of the good reviews we read on Angie's List, but I could have done a better job myself, for free! Maybe it was just the team we were sent, but we were disappointed in the result. These people were totally unprepared to do the job. They did not have the proper hoses, ladders, etc. Our house is not what you would consider a really large house, so how do they do other, larger homes??
Response from Queen City Pressure Washing
"It is not uncommon to use google earth to see a house in order to price a house wash. A lot of companies do it now. It was explained on the phone to the customer that there may be some staining if the algae had been there a long time. This turned out to be the case. We always ask the customer to do a final walk around with the workers to make sure everything is satisfactory. As for the slope of the ground, that is never a problem as we have the right ladders to do the job. all areas of the house were washed which did reveal some staining. The customer did walk around the house with the guys and approved the work before paying. We have been in business for many years and strive for customer satisfaction"

The workers were friendly and professional, and showed up when they said they would. They performed the required services, and when I asked if the staining might be a little uneven, they redid the entire deck. They also pressure-washed the algae-stained brick at my request, which was apparently not included in the original price, but needed to be done. They told me that the doors on the shed were rotting at the bottom, and for a very reasonable price, repaired the doors before restaining them. The doors would not rehang properly, so at my request, they moved the hardware around a bit so the doors worked. They also cleaned up after the job, and left the worksite in good condition. They did request partial payment after each phase of the job, and were faithful in completing the job so that we were happy with it. Because they were so busy, we did have to wait a number of weeks for them to apply a second coat of stain, and it turned out very well. The thing I liked best about this company is that they made sure I was happy with the work, and if not, they did whatever necessary to satisfy us. They were also reliable in doing what they said they would. I will try to post a picture of the deck if it ever stops raining.

It went super well! he was quick to help us pick out the best color to go with our house and super informative about each step he took, from the type of bleach he used to which paint/stain would go best for the wood on the deck.

Queen City Pressure Washing built my front porch/deck working with local building inspector from pre-build approval through final product at a cost of 40% what another local contractor quoted me and that was using over 50% composite instead of all treated wood which what was the other contractor's plan . The lead man on the job was very personable and showed me several times details of how strong the deck would be engineered with support beyond standard requirements .  We are very happy with both the appearance of the deck and how solid it is now 14 months after completion. We would highly recommend this company .

Very well. Bill Jones is a first class professional. One of the rare people who shows up on time and delivers what he promises. Fair price, punctual and stays in touch. We had one area which wasn't right due to faulty stain (not his fault) and he honored the warranty and remedied the situation as he stands by his work. Great guy, great company.

The price was very reasonable. The crew showed up when they said they would be there. They were professional while on site. They paid attention to detail. This was a 10 year old deck. All of the wood that had grayed due to years of weathering looked fresh again including all the railing spindles. I would definitely recommend Queen City Pressure washing for deck maintenance.

I had this work done s few months ago and just found out that they are on Angie's List. I called their office and Bill was able to come out the same day for an estimate. he walked around the house and gave me a fair price and I agreed to have it done. While doing the washing, ( I was watching ) there was a lot of wood rot that was found. I called Bill and he came out to check on his guys and loot at the rotted wood. He gave me a very fair price to replace all of the wood hat was rotted and the work was all done over the next few days. After the replacement he had his guys paint the new wood and you cant tell where it was replaced. Just goes to show, there are still good guys out there who will go the extra mile to make a customer happy. they are coming back in a next week to wash my driveway and sidewalks,
