They did roof. It was shoddy. They re-did roof because I held back the money. Thought it was done right second time, but they didn't replace all the plywood that was delaminated and now 4 years later, our roof is leaking. We paid $10,000.00, was overcharged, later found out could have had it don't right for $7,000.00. We have to have another new roof done. Attitude was terrible and had to fight with them to do it a second time. BUYER BEWARE !!! THIS COMPANY SHOULD BE SHUT DOWN.

Reasonably well. Kind of felt like I got oversold on the need for an attic fan, when additional vents would probably have been sufficient. My bad.

It was perfect. I hired Roger because I trusted him. His company did work for me in 2013 and I was very pleased then. I am even more pleased now! I thought I needed to replace the siding all the way around my house (it's 40 years old). A neighbor painted his and, while it looked okay, the painting was so expensive that I thought I'd see if there was an in-between solution. Roger said he could replace just the south side (first and second floor) and match the existing front and back. I got home tonight and the work is PERFECT. The south side (attached garage on lower level, my office and a bedroom on upper level) have new siding that perfectly matches the 40-year-old stuff AND everything looks new. They did a wonderful job sealing up everything tightly and I couldn't be more pleased. Roger visited this house twice to look at the work as the job specs changed (I kept asking questions and I had some brick work done in between). He was on time, charged a fair price, and confirmed last week that he would be here today. I didn't call or expect a call yesterday, and I had an early appointment at a client's place this morning. Roger called me first thing to say his crew was at my house and he was heading over to check on things. We talked about the job and he informed me that my office window had some messy caulk - he cleaned it up and made sure it was sealed tight for winter. I would hire this company to do any sort of remodeling work and I'm thrilled.

Actually, it was a terrible nightmare what they did to my roof. And I’m angry that they got such high reviews from others, not only on Angies List, but even from other computer reviews. AND...I laughed when I read in your little magazine that Roger McCauley, the owner, said we ‘would deal directly with him’ if we chose to use RAM. Ha ! Of all the fricking problems that developed when they worked on OUR roof, he never bothered to call us. So he’s trying to create an image of caring about his clients...which really are just empty words when it comes down to it. Plus...from the talk I heard among the workers, there’s a high turnover of employees...which says something not good about the company. THEY might have told me they’re weeding out ‘poor employees’ (when I called & complained to them)...but the fact that I had TWO major problems that were unacceptable, each from different workers, I tend to believe the company is just BS-ing their way onto jobs, and saying what they feel people want to hear. I had two of those employees with ‘poor attitudes’ working on my roof.... One of those two workers had a TERRIBLE attitude, and he just slapped the flashing onto my chimney, and side door over-hang, which was very obvious when walking past the house. The other guy had obviously not been properly trained in how to ‘pull old shingles up’...and dug HUGE holes in the plywood base all over my roof !!! Even I would know not to shove the shovel INTO the roof to dig up the old shingles...but rather try to pry them up, going in the same direction of the slope, etc. And shame on his coworkers for letting him DO IT ! There were 3-5 people on my roof at different times; didn’t SOMEone see this kid doing it wrong ?? I’m disgusted with them all...except the guy who had to come back to ‘fix the problems’ created by the other employees. Zach seemed to be the only one who took pride in what he was doing. And, he had to be pretty darn creative to make the disaster job of the flashing look good by the time he was done. And I didn’t know about the holes in the foundation of my roof until I went into the attic to fold up the tarps I’d placed over stuff stored up there. I expected there’d be ‘crumbs’ from the tar paper, or whatever, like the previous time we’d had the roof replaced. What I found was shocking !! The largest hole created was roughly 6” by 4”...and there were 6 other holes that Zach had to come back to patch up. I mean there was chunks of plywood, splinters, & nails sprinkled all over the attic. Zach was also the man who had to cover up the flashing that Archie had done a slip-shod job on. And Archies attitude ? As he’s pulling out of the drive way, he said “I hope you like the job…because I’m the one who will have to come back and fix it if you don’t like it”. Well...THAT made me look at everything closer...and let’s just say that my 8 year old granddaughter could have done a better job...because she’s neat and would have taken the time to figure out what to do ! ‘Neat’ is obviously a word not in his vocabulary, at least not when working on our roof. I haven’t taken the time to write out the ‘proper review’ yet, except for all the info above, for several reasons. First, my husband passed away in Feb...between the time when RAM contacted us that they would like to replace the roof because of hail damage, and, when they actually did the job. After losing Rich, I truly didn’t care about piddly things like reports & surveys...for 7 months or so. I knew I’d get to it eventually, but that definitely was NOT my priority. But since I’ve received two emails from Angie’s List in a very short time about RAM, I thought I’d take the time to respond...as you’ve read above. Plus, I don’t want RAM to receive such ‘perfect scores’ because from what they did here, those scores are bogus. Sadly, I truly feel RAM residential does not represent themselves accurately, thru Angies List, or otherwise. Our oldest son was told (by another contractor) that they’d get $500 off a job done at their place...IF our son “wrote a positive report for Angie’s List”. The work he had done was done decent...but as he said he’d be GLAD to twist the truth a bit to save $500. This was NOT a tactic used for me...but...I suspect they’re doing something along this line to get so many positive reviews & marks... I’ve only talked to 2 other neighbors who had work done by RAM. One was satisfied (after Zach came back to do “the fix up work”) & the other neighbor had a “RAM nightmare” like mine to deal with. Oh ! I’d give them an F-minus for their workmanship, and attitude, AND lack of training.

Based upon the information that was included with the package, we didn't feel we got our money's worth. The package was supposed to include some basic repairs, none of which were noted or performed. However, when we had the roof replaced less than six months later, the roof vent stacks flashing were all worn. That should have been noted when we had the inspection done.
Representative showed up on time and advised he would check the attic. I showed him where the attic access was located. He went up into the attic and i could hear him walking around and then talking on his phone for a few minutes.
Then everything went quiet. I could then smell cigarette smoke. I couldn't believe it. My wife and I are not smokers. I went to the attic access and I could smell the strong odor of cigarette smoke. I yelled up to the inspector to see what was going on.
He came down shortly there after and said I needed more insulation and left. He never provided me with a written report of anything. I find it disturbing that this guy just hung around up in my attic for 15 minutes smoking and talking on the phone.
What a waste.
I was very impressed with the service! The technician that came out made some suggestions when I informed him of a problem I had been having and his suggestion turned out to be the solution. They gave me a really good deal and honored the original quote despite it not being in writing, they were very honest. The work was done efficiently and timely.

I was able to get an appointment fast but it took three tries before someone actually came out. The last guy did show up on time and did the attic inspection to my satisfaction. It was in line with other inspection I had.

The proposal for the attic insulation was way to high. I had two whole house insulation proposals which were only $600 to $800 more than there attic only insulation.

The product was good, the installation was OK, the overall experience was disappointing.
First, these windows were ordered on March 13th. We were expecting a baby in May. We thought that two months was a reasonable amount of time to order windows and have them installed. The salesman told us that 4-5 weeks for ordering and installation was typical. We thought we were in great shape. A month passes and we have heard NOTHING. On April 22nd we finally call to see what was going on...we had expected to be contacted about installation by now. We learn that the windows have not arrived yet, and were told that they would look into it. Several more phone calls, and returned calls, and un-returned calls later, it is now the end of May and we have a baby. And still no windows.
So June rolls in and we are all a bit frazzled by bringing a newborn home, so it is nearing the end of June before we realize..."Where are our new windows?" (by this time I have stopped tracking the phone calls). We speak to the installer and are told that they are way behind because of various family emergencies. (Ok...I get it..stuff happens.) We tell them the two weeks that we'll be out of town and unavailable for installations during the end of June/beginning of July.
We get one, maybe two calls telling us "Sorry, we're really busy, thanks for your patience, I'll call tomorrow to schedule you." And then no call.
It's now the end of July and I text the installer that I NEED the windows done in the next two weeks. We schedule for August 4th, and finally, we have our new windows.
But that's not the end of the story. Our windows were hard to remove, and basically had to be broken and pried out of the brick surrounding them. This left a huge mess of glass, which was not cleaned up. The installers left without letting me know, or I would have asked them to clean up better. (The foreman came several days later and cleaned it up for us after we called to complain. That gesture was appreciated.) I also didn't have a chance to operate the windows before they left. One of them slid great. The other barely opened. After I got it open I saw the cause was a broken plastic piece (balancer spring cover?). I mean, at least I have windows, but only one of them works. (Not sure how that was missed by the installers.....)
When I called about the glass I also mentioned the broken piece. I texted a picture of it to the foreman, and was told it would be ordered by the window manufacturer and someone would contact me when it was in.
Now it is the end of September, and I called last week to inquire about getting the window fixed. That call hasn't been returned yet, but I cannot wait to post this review any longer. When there is some kind of resolution I will post an update
Honestly, this might be a one off bad experience where all the stars aligned and we just got caught in the middle. Everyone has been friendly. We were given a $100 discount for the delayed installation. But it's really disappointing when there is not effective communication with your customer. Call me and update me if there is a problem. Return my calls when you say you're going to return them. I'm a busy mom of three, I won't always remember or be able to play phone tag, but I'm PAYING for your company to provide a service.
This company uses subcontractors to fill order defficits. I wanted an estimate on roofing and when i asked for one , he asked me if i wanted a angies list price or a non angies list price. I believe he was trying to p*** a side job from RAM. It was a akward moment. He never got back to me about a roofing estimate. I will not consider this company again unless I am met by a contractor that is paid by and works for RAM services.

They did a good job installing the shingles.
But the rest, new fisca end trim boards, not so good. They did much damage to the aluminum trim when they removed the end face fica boards. In fact I paid them with out even looking at it. Well first of all, I had to call them to remove the dumpster. They then asked is every thing else ok? I said no, and no response. So I put a stop payment on the check. And still no response after a week. Finally a got a call that they will send 2 of their top repair men. They did a excellent job repairing the damage. They had to go to Viking aluminum, for trim. It was at least a 3 hr repair. Also I had another weapon, go to city building permit dept. And report , they did not get a permit. They told me give us their name and we will fine them and make them get a permit, and inspect, and the job will have to done right. Well I did,nt do that. Any way no follow up call after the completed the job. The worst experience I ever had with a contractor in all of my 83 years.
The company did not call me in the time frame specified when the coupon was purchased. They did call me the following week. The fellow came out and attempted to fix the downspout which was leaking from the top connector at the roof level. He patched it and said if it didn't work he would come back to fix it. He said that it probably needed to be replaced. I asked him what that might cost and he gave me a price. After he left we had a heavy rain and the spout was leaking worse, sending water against the house and upstairs window. I called the company and they said they would give the fellow a message. I never got a return call so I am not sure if they gave him the message. I found the repairman's cell number in my phone and called him directly. He came over immediately and replaced the spout. He found it also had a clog in the bend. He couldn't remember the price he quoted me and didn't seem like he was happy with the price I said he had told me, but he accepted it.
When the project was finished it was fine. However, I did pay for the coupon and the gutter was not properly repaired. Then I paid an additional cost when he replaced the gutter and that was charged beyond the coupon deal.

Mike contacted me promptly, showed up on time and inspected and repaired my siding, gutter and downspout placement, sealed the windows and even matched up a piece of missing siding with the proper color. Mike was professional and knowledgeable about his craft. I would certainly rehire and I recommend him to others. Thank you Mike!
