About us
Raven Pest Control is a pest service company operating in Northern Virginia (3 employees). We are licensed, insured, and certified in all pest control related areas (VDAG Business #10912). We do not use subcontractors. All technicians are state certified. We have a Certified Entomologist on our full time staff to serve your needs. We have been in the industry in a technical level for over 20 years. Before starting the company, the owner trained technical personnel in large companies. We specialize in bed bug services, and difficult problems that may require an in depth understanding of pest biology. Our first inspections are always free, with no obligation (WDIR reports for realtor's have a $35 fee). We offer both general pest control programs, as well as combination termite and general pest programs. The initial setup fee for homes under 400 linear feet is $155 for a general pest program (for homes above 400 LFT, fee is based on size). Maintenance fees for homes under 400 LTF is $95 for general program on a quarterly schedule. All programs have warranties of unlimited, no-charge call back services for any covered pest. We respond within one business day to any need. We stand behind our services. So we use agreements, not contracts and services may be canceled by the client for any reason without penalties or additional fees. I switched over to Raven Termite and Pest Control after being a customer with another company for 15+ years. I wasn't happy with the services I was receiving with the other company and finally decided to make the switch. Our previous pest control company was supposedly "monitoring" an outside bait system at our house for mice, but there was never any activity in the trap (according to their records). Within a week of working with Raven, the outside bait system they put out revealed evidence of mice activity as did the inside traps they put down. The folks at Raven are top notch and I feel confident that our mice problem is finally getting resolved. Raven is a family owned business that truly cares about their customers and provides excellent service. I am so happy I made the switch. I just wish I had done it years ago!

I called and they were able to come out the next day. Rodent bait stations were set up outside, sprayed the exterior, and sprayed the interior for insects. Answered all of my questions. Polite and clean. I signed up for the quarterly service. They will come back if I have issues with pests before the next service.

We had a large hornet nest on the side of the house. I contacted Raven Termite & Pest Control through Angie's list and got a detailed and informative response within 12 hrs. After the message exchange I called in person and spoke with the owner Joe Stuart, made an appointment for the next day. Joe arrived on time, got to work right away, removed the nest that was located on the outdoor lamp on the side of the house and answered all my questions. He is very knowledgeable, has a degree in entomology and knows everything about the bugs, their behavior and will offer the best resolution of the problem depending on your specific situation. I recommend Raven Termite & Pest Control to anyone who is looking for knowledgeable and honest pest control provider. <br /> <br />

Contacted Raven termite and pest control thru Angie's list and got a response with in 24 hrs. Called in person and spoke with the owner Joe Stuart. Very nice, made an appointment for him to come out on Wed. He arrived on time and after a couple of minutes of letting him know what i needed, he was on the job. Joe was very knowledgeable about what he was doing and answered all my questions. When he was done i signed up for the quarterly services, the pricing was very acceptable. It is the next day and am very happy with the results and will continue to use Raven. <br />

<p>I had an issue with crickets in my basement and I started seeing them in my upper level. I also started seeing more and more stink bugs. With the mice, I knew there use to be mice issue when I moved in because I saw mouse poison in the attic. I did not know whether the issue had been resolved until I started hearing scratching at night and saw a pile of papers and insulation neatly arranged in a corner. I set up a few mouse traps and killed a few. I figured I could live with them in the attic, but when I saw one scurry across my kitchen floor, I conceded that it was time to bring in professionals. </p> <p>I found Joe and Raven Termite and Pest Control through Angie's List and tried them out. Joe came out promptly and showed us signs of infestation as well as area he suspected they were coming in. We trusted his judgement and let him do his thing. He was upfront with us and let us know that it would take some time for the stink bugs go away, but the treatment for mice and crickets would work much quicker. And he was right.</p> <p>I like the fact that we were not obligated to any service contract. He maintains a schedule and calls to check to see if everything is going ok and if not, will come out upon request. If all is good, there is no visit unless you want one.</p> <p>Joe is very professional and an all around nice guy.</p> <br />

We received a termite inspection as part of our home sale by another company, after they recommended an expensive and apparently unnecessary expansive treatment plan and were unable (or refused) to show us the damage we called in Raven for a second opinion. Joe was able to fit us into the schedule in a pinch and set us up with an appointment next day. He arrived on time, and was extremely friendly and knowledgable about our situation. He was able to quickly provide us with an opinion, recommended repairs, and came back to evaluate the repairs quickly afterwords and provide us with a professional report of the evaluation. <br /> We have worked with several pest control companies over the last few years, likely much of it a scam or worse.. I wish I could go back in time and hire Raven Pest control company. <br />

I had a termite problem last year and contacted Raven Termite and Pest Control for the treatment. They came out and treated the problem area and around the house. A year later, I asked them to come out for an annual inspection and there was no sign of termite. However, there were quite some ants spotted in a few areas of the house. Mr. Joe told me about it and treated it without charging me. He is very friendly and professional - knows what he's doing. I'll ask him for annual termite inspection again next year. <br />

Just moved into a new place and noticed we had some ant, spider, and moth issues. Called on a Friday and Joe came out on a Saturday. Being an etymologist, he definitely knew his stuff! He got to work right away and detailed each pest he came across. He quickly came up with a plan and gave an outline for a non-contractual quarterly service with no pressure whatsoever. He was in and out in about 40 minutes. He was even great with our yippy dog. A true professional and as he was highly recommended to me I would highly recommend him to anyone.

We were replacing our back door and when the contractor pulled out the old framing, one million ants. Raven was onsite within 2 hours to spray down the area before we had to close back up the walls. Service was prompt, and progressional. We had an emergency situation and the owner of the company showed up in 2 hours with no previous service relationship. He also sprayed other areas of the house that he thought may be problem areas as well. <br />

Joe was very knowledgeable, professional and really cared about the work that he performed. He knew all of the bugs that we had in our home, why they were there, and how to get rid of them. Its unlike anything we have experienced with any other bug service that we used in the DC metro area! If the service stays at the same quality level as we've experienced, we won't go anywhere else. Joe was punctual, professional, friendly and most importantly EFFECTIVE in dealing with our problem. Also, he wore slippers over his shoes when he came into our home. One of the companies tracked mud all over our stairs. We will continue to use Raven, and we will continue to recommend them to our friends. They are a great value and very effective! <br />

I called Mr. Joe Stuart (Owner of Raven) on Saturday afternoon to discuss an urgent need of an WDIR inspection. Joe scheduled me for that Monday. He did a very thorough and extensive inspection. Explained the WDIR process to me, completed all the paperwork, and gave additional and quot;rules of engagementand quot; of submitting the WDIR. On a related note, I showed Joe an area of pest concern and he explained to me, in lament terms, what it was nothing of importance. He didn't try to sell me services, like other pest control companies. Overall an awesome experience. Joe was very professional, knowledgeable, and more importantly not a salesman working off a commission. I recommend Raven Termite and Pest Control and plan to work with Joe again prior to spring of 2013 to aid me with dealing with our annual ant problem. <br />

Joe (owner of Raven's) was referred to me by a colleague also in the pest control business. But, Joe is an entomologist and the person who referred me felt we needed an expert to troubleshoot the problem. Joe called me the very next day; came to the house 2 days later on a Saturday morning; and performed the service 5 days later. <br /> Please note -- ours was not a straight forward, easy to diagnose problem as more than one thing was going on. But, Joe worked it through after inspecting several areas of the house. <br /> Joe's knowledge of the pest control business is impressive. His patience with responding to questions and explaining all the solutions is also impressive. Once Joe had given us the options and pros/cons, we knew what to do and hired him on the spot to do it. <br /> Joe called me the day of the apptmt to keep me informed of his arrival time (Joe was more than willing for me to go to work and he'd give me a 30-minute departure call to let me know he was on his way so I wouldn't need to miss work). He came; did the job; and then walked me through everything so I was fully aware of the entire process and the outcome. <br /> We now have piece of mind that we've done everything to keep termites and ants out of our walls and house. I contacted Joe Stuart, owner of Raven, on the advice of someone who was familiar with his work and reasonable charges. Raven is on Angie's list but didn't have a review. Joe is a certified entomologist who knows his business. He did an inspection and provided an estimate on a Wednesday. The next Tuesday he treated around the house, a 16x24 shed, an 8x12 shed, a section of fence connected to the house, my deck, and along a wooden retaining wall connected to the house. He was thorough, provided an excellent explanation of his work, and his price was very reasonable ( even beating an Angie's List Big Deal for termite treatment ). I would definitely recommend Joe's Raven company for pest control.
