"Thanks a lot"
"got a work order on 09/23 for this job. Visited the customer on 09/24. Carried out a soap solution test. There was a minor leak near the gas valve. I then asked for deductible which in his case is $150 and he paid. The gas valve ordered was backordered. I asked the warranty company if they could look for it. When I got the part, I called and fixed an appointment with the customer. Could not reach there in time as I was stuck at some other customer's job which took long (I did not blame the customer for the delay as claimed by [Member Name Removed]). I called [Member Name Removed] and told him about the situation and asked for a new appointment. He told me to come next week. I tried to reason with him stating it has started getting cold and he should allow me to come sooner. He did not budge. I literally had to beg him to allow me to come the next day. During this discussion I also told him that it may not take long for me to complete the job. After he agreed, I went the next day and checked the line using the gas leak meter (which he calls as a cheap $10 instrument). I could detect the leak between the pipe and the valve. Tried turning the pipe and then checked again. No leak. It took me about 30 minutes to do my job, the time [Member Name Removed] spent in 5 minutes. Asked him to come down in the basement. I used the same instrument to check the entire gas line in the basement in his presence and told him that all is fine. By the way, the instrument I used to check for leakage is one of the top 8 rated instruments in the market. Gas detectors are designed with certain color codes and it kind of looks like a toy. Told him to call his gas agency and get it checked which he did only when I called him again 3 days later and requested him to do it just as a double check. I have a feeling that some workers of the gas agencies are not honest. they have ties with some techs and they create phony leaks to get some work for out of job tech. I am not even going into the details of what piece was found missing from the valve. A figment of imagination on someone's part."
