With over 26 years of experience and over 9 years of owning my own business I have the training, knowledge, and skill to complete your project in the most professional manner, creating results that are not only good for the environment, but the best work you can have done. I have experience in all phases of landscaping and hardscape for both residential and commercial. My professional landscaping is not comparable to an average landscape contractor or many other gardeners and general contractors that are looking for side jobs. I am looking for a lifelong business and environmental relationship. That was not too good because I thought they were giving me, actually make me wait a long time. They could have been more responsive to me and quickly. My plan was very simple and like a draft because I'm thinking if I pay that price I should get what I have for my plan. I was made to wait a long time. I tried to reach them three times. They would say okay we will get with you soon. It's no detail. I think that money flew into the water. The first time they came on time.

He initially came out and was on time, however, he was supposed to come back out and deliver my landscaping evaluation and plans but never did.

He spent 15 minutes measuring around the house and left. A few days later there was an estimate for some work in my mailbox. There were no plans, designs, or anything included in the estimate it just said $3048.00 for what I had said I was interested in. I spent $99.00 on a Big Deal for a 15 minute estimate.

"I understand how requesting to reschedule our initial appointment may have started us off on the wrong foot. I had an emergency situation at a client’s home that had to be taken care of immediately before the rain came. Once we did meet the next day, I came by to do an evaluation of the property and spent as much time on the property as I deemed necessary. There is no mandated amount of time required to spend during a landscape evaluation. Some appointments take longer than others based on the size and complexity of the project. Once my visual evaluation was complete, I informed you prior to leaving your house, that you would receive your written evaluation and plans within 7 business days. I sent the estimate for your project via email once it was completed. This way you would have an idea of the financial costs involved with the project. I sent the drawing seperately, but you received it on the 7 business day. If you needed the plans sooner than the 7 business days that was mentioned during our meeting, then you should have informed me of that from the beginning. Outside of the initial rescheduling, I upheld my part in delivering the plans within the specified timeframe, and quoted your project below market value. I am sorry that our exchange ended the way that it did, but I wish you the best of luck with your upcoming project."

All went very well at first. The crew gutted the backyard and the cleanup was fast and efficient. I spent time with Raymond picking out plants at Miramar Nursery and he extended his discount to me. Eventually the patio, walkways and pergola were built. I did have problems with the painter of the pergola that was hired by Raymond. He managed to get paint on my new patio furniture. My opinion of this job was it was too big for Raymond Torres. He is a good landscaper and gardener, has a lot of energy, but running a business is another thing. He was constantly out of help or laborers and Raymond had a hard time ending the job and his promises weren't always kept. I finally took his business sign out of my front yard months after the work stopped. He called me one year after the job ended and promised to rebark the backyard for free and have some professional pictures taken. He called me 3 more times, but never showed up. Raymond's final bill for his work, which he told me over the phone was around $500, arrived in the mail, 19 months after he stopped working at my house and it wasn't $500.00. He started the job in March 2011, stopped working before June 1, 2011, final bill arrived January 2013. Raymond should be running a crew of landscapers, not a landscaping company.

To Whom It May Concern: Raymond Torres and Daughter Landscaping have provided landscaping services for me since fall of 2009. Upon our first meeting I was impressed with Raymond’s knowledge and enthusiasm for his work. Once work commenced I was pleased with the crew’s efficiency and attention to detail. Raymond has good vision and strives to look at future needs and plan appropriately, which ultimately has saved me both time and money. He does not take short cuts and makes suggestions to maximize the results of the finished project. As a result I have recommend his company to family, friends and a condo HOA. In today’s market there are many companies that claim to have high standards and want work. It is rare to find a company that communicates well, follows through in a timely manor and is proud of their work not to mention a family owned and operated business. Although I have limited knowledge about plants and landscape design, I feel confident putting anything from the smallest tasks to ornate plans in Raymond Torres and Daughter’s hands. Raymond has provided nothing less than quality, affordable landscaping services. It is without reservation that I recommend Raymond Torres and Daughter Landscaping for any and all commercial or residential landscaping needs.
