He did a really nice job.

I found Ray years ago when he ran Ray Webb Restoration. At that time, he gave me advice on some issues, but we never hired him. Six years later when I found I had a leak in our basement, I called Ray for advice. I learned that Ray Webb Restoration now operates under Ray Webb Inc and Ray Webb Inc still honors all the warranties and service work for Ray Webb Restoration. Same company, just a new name. I was glad to know it was the same Ray, who was able to guide me through my issues again.

We had our basement leak for about a year before we were able to source it. Throughout that time, Ray consulted with us over the phone to help us diagnose the source of the leak. Once we found it, I called him and he came out the next day to inspect the problem. He told us our existing french drain system was clogged and we need to replace it. He said to fix the current problem, we needed to replace a portion of the basement. If money's tight, that's all that needed to be done. But, to do the job right and be thorough, we could consider replacing the entire drain system. We didn't want to wait for the other half to eventually fail, so we went ahead and booked Ray to remove our entire old system and install a new system. But we did appreciate his honesty in that the whole thing wasn't necessary at that moment to solve the leak. But we felt that we should do it all at once, rather than repeat the intrusion and headache of a second leak and repair down the road.

Ray's team worked HARD to do this work. It was hot and it was August. They jackhammered the cement and carried it bucket after bucket out of our house. Then, they laid in the new system and made cement outside on the driveway and carried it, bucket after bucket, into the house. Backbreaking work. But the team was happy, friendly, and always working. The entire job took 4 days.

A week later, hurricane irene hit and put the new system to the test. It worked perfectly. We lost power and the battery back-ups that
Ray installed also were tested. We made it 18 hours on our battery back-up, before we plugged into a neighbor's generator. We were thrilled to get 18 hours out of it. And the pumps barely rested. They were literally going with about a 20 second break in between. The water poured into our basement, was collected by the new system Ray installed, and was pumped out.

Since August, Ray's been out a few times to look at some minor issues. His team handles everything very well. The only negative thing I can say is that Ray needs to be called a lot. He means well, but he doesn't always call back or respond as quickly as I would like. I don't hesitate in recommending Ray. His advice is spot on and he tells you what you need to fix the problem. He doesn't do the upsell at all. My advice would be to be patient and keep calling him. He's worth the wait.

One more thing. The message by Angies List on his page of the site has a warning about Failed Licensing Audit - Incomplete Compliance Plan. It's a little scary to a homeowner needing work done. But I looked into it. As best as I can tell, the warning means that Angies List thinks he should be certified to work in NJ, but Ray has chosen not to work in NJ. So, he's not paying Jersey licensing fees. He's fully certified in PA (I checked).
I own a 50 year-old brick and stone twin in NE Philadelphia. We had noticed some water staining on interior walls during the past winter. The exterior brick wall on the side of the house where we noticed the problem faces north and west, and takes the brunt of the weather during winter rain/snow storms. We called Ray in the Spring to inspect the suspected wall. He came out within a day or two and did the inspection and pointed out some obvious defects in the deteriorating brick pointing. He offered to patch the problem areas if we were dead set on keeping the cost as low as possible, but said he could not guarantee that this would correct the problem. He suggested instead re-pointing the entire wall, in which case he would offer an extended warranty of his work. This is what we decided to do.

Ray scheduled the job within about 10 days (it required two full days of work). He notified me on a Friday that he could do the job on the following Monday and Tuesday if I was agreeable. I gave him the go ahead. He and his crew showed up early on Monday Morning. They worked hard for two days and got the work done as scheduled. They ground down the old pointing, re-pointed all the masonry, and calked all the windows. It was dirty work, but they did an excellent job cleaning up. The work looks beautiful and has held up through all the recent storms with no further evidence of leaks. Ray and his crew were courteous and respectful of my neighbors.

Ray met my three most important criteria for home contractors: He showed up when he said he would, he did what he said he would do in a professional manner, and he cleaned up afterward. The fact that he is also a nice guy is just icing on the cake. I would definitely hire him again.

He used to advertise in the Angie's List booklet. I wrote enough checks out to him. He did not give me a contract. He did not give me a bill. He did not give me a warranty. He even told me that he could raise his price and then give me a discount. He didn't do what I expected him to do. What he did do I don't even know was necessary to be done. The front window had something rusted in it. He came out and said the bar that reinforced the bricks had to be replaced. They took out the bricks. I should have watched them more to see if they put in a new one. After all the mess on the window, the rusty thing was still in there and he didn't even try to hide it. Whether he put a new one on top of it, I don't know. I know I am not having any leaks. Maybe he put a bar across it. He was supposed to power wash the bricks because I have yellow bricks. At first he said it couldn't be done. He power washed them, but the streaks are still there. I wanted the outside sidewalk to look appealing. The caulk looks like pancakes with too much of it in certain places and is starting to peel away. I could have done better. He left everything for his sidekicks to do so he could disappear. I am not happy with the work. I did give him a call but he never answers anyway. He does things and does not accept any credit cards. He divides his jobs into sections. He does one phase and he wants us to pay for it by check or cash. Then he does the next phase and wants us to pay him and so on. He didn't follow through. He does not give a contract with a break-up of the cost, does not take credit cards, and does not give an Angie's List discount. The power wash did not turn out the way I thought it would and I still have dark streaks on my yellow bricks. That was disappointing. Then he put a waterproof coating on them and now I can never get them off.

The work he did was fine. He was punctual. He came out and gave us an estimate. THe final price was right on the estimate. He talked to my wife about the kind of work she wanted done. He wasn't pushy. He does good work.

He was very difficult to pin down as to when the work would start. It was not done in a timely fashion, and we had to call several times to have him return to do the curb. It finally took an e-mail with an aggresssive message to get that work done. Having said that, when we had a leak in the back of the house two years aftet the patio was installed, Ray himself came out and sealed the patio, insisting that the house leak was not related to the patio. He was right, it was our roof. He did come out shortly after we called about the leak, and he did a good job with the seal, and there was no charge.

I was redoing my basement..and when I removed the old drywall..I saw that the rear stone wall was destroyed by water leaking from my old windows. I got Rays number from a neighbor and gave him a call. He was punctual and gave me a fair quote. His crew arrived on time on the day I had an appointment and within that very same day had my rear wall finished and looking better then new. The cleaned out all the old mortar, sealed and refinished the entire wall that day. They cleaned up and removed all trash also! Fantastic job

Originally, the job was done well. The workers were prompt, although they did break one of our windows. They didn't even leave us a note on this... just taped up the window. Nonetheless, we were originally happy with the job. Now, four years later, the masonry painting is peeling and flaking off the house in strips. In a number of places where this is happening, we have interior water damage. I called Ray to ask him to come out and he said he would... but after two months I haven't heard back from him. I called him again today, but all his numbers are out of order?? We would very much like Ray to come back out to our house and advise what he could do to rectify the situation.

Ray came as promised. He and his men started the job. They called to inform us that the prior people had installed the piping incorrectly. He quoted the job at $1500 the additional charge was $400. We agreed and he completed the job. He and his men were professional and cleaned everything up. Mother nature has tested it many times over..with the rains and all the snow we have not had any issues so far!! I would gladly use Ray again and I would definately recommend him.

Was pleased with Ray's service. Always promptly returned my calls and was very easy to deal with. His workers were prompt, polite, and professional. I was very happy with the final result and would work with him again. There were some minor issues with clean-up but I am picky, so do not hold that to him too strongly. I am confident that if there are any problems, he would come back and promptly rectify them. Would definitely use him again.

These guys worked HARD! They tried their best to keep the dust from the jackhammering of the basement floor to a minimum. They were pretty punctual. They arrived and got right to work. They moved the appliances and some heavy items. They tore out the paneling and got rid of it. They disconnected the old toilet (not ever used) and capped it as well as the sink. They dug the trenches all around the perimeter of the house. They discovered a broken pipe (no surprise to me) and fixed it. They laid the perforated pipes in the trenches with stones for the french drains. They covered over the pipes with concrete. They installed a vapor barrier. One of the guys was a registered plumber, so he could manage the toilet, broken pipes, etc. Ray's electrician came and installed new outlets for the sump pump and battery. I was surprised that this big, messy job was mostly finished in 4 days.

It does make for a wonderful experience, when the work is performed by a professional. He was informative, honest and punctual. The work was completed in 2 days. I am extremely delighted with the finished product and looking forward to doing a lot more business with Mr. Webb and his polite, experienced crew.

Ray arrived for the estimate on time and gave complete estimate of job and prices at the time of his first visit. His team arrived on time and work was performed as estimated and promised. The job was a large one and took approximately 2 weeks to complete. We would definitely use Ray again

Ray came out and gave a quote. He was very professional, knowledgeable and gave what seemed like a very fair quote. He was able to start the work in a couple of days and updated us regularly when the work had to be pushed back a day due to weather. It took 3 men nearly 3 full days to chip out all the old cement and replace for approx 100 ft long wall. They also repaired a spot where the stones had fallen out. The work men were friendly and professional and cleaned up all of their materials before leaving each day. They had to cut back some overgrown trees to access the wall and also cleaned up and removed all the trimmings. The wall looks fantastic.

Ray and his crew installed three starbolts on my home. There were some questions and concerns regarding the placement of the bolts and Ray and his crew were quick to offer possible options and patient while we waited to hear back from the engineer. I was under a tight deadline and Ray worked with me to make sure the starbolts were installed before I moved into the house. He was patient and willing to answer any and all questions I had about the process. I highly recommend using Ray Webb Masonry!

Ray was responsive and on time for our appointment. He provided a detailed, itemized estimate. The crew showed on on-time and the work was completed in a timely manner. I wish all contractors were so easy to work with and most importantly, my house looks great!

Overall, it went well. Ray explained what he thought would be the best plan and we chose his over others that wanted to work from inside the basement. A sewer pipe through the basement wall, which we were sure had been sealed by a plumber after we had the excavation done by a handyman, was found to be leaking slightly, so Ray made the necessary repair and treated a previously undetected crack nearby without additional cost to us. When the job was finished we paid Ray the second half of the agreed price, but asked that a further clean-up be scheduled when subsidence and weather would make that worthwhile. Ray came back with a crew and did most of the clean-up before his power-washer got broken. Then he had to schedule still another visit to complete the washing of driveway and cement path, which was done very effectively.

Ray was very prompt in scheduling an estimate to have our basement (AKA "The RMS Titanic") waterproofed. We bought our house less than a year ago and quickly discovered that every time it rained we had 2-6 inches of water in the basement! He was prompt and professional. He was different from the other contractors that we contacted because he was willing to give us an estimate on only doing the portion of the basement that was causing us the most problems. In the end, we decided to have the whole perimeter of the basement waterproofed, but this was entirely our decision and we did not feel pressured to have more work done than was necessary. They cleaned up everyday before they left our home. Everyone was courteous and more than willing to explain exactly what they were doing every step of the way.

I thought they were expensive but have not had any problems since they did the work. They were on time and did the work professionally and well. They cleaned up nicely outside. I had someone out last year to fix the problem and the repair did not hold.

They returned my inquiry call in a timely manner. Tony set an appt. for Ray to meet with me to provide an estimate. At meeting, Ray explained he prefers not to perform the type of work I required because he can not guarantee these type of repairs. However, after he was convinced that I understood the limitations of the work, he agreed to perform the work. He provided a very fair cost estimate and agreed to work my small job into their schedule within about 2 weeks. The work was completed to my satisfaction within one week. I was impressed by Ray's honesty and professionalism, and could immediately tell he would be dedicated to ensuring a job well done. He took the time to explain the procedures and answer all my questions. I am a happy customer and am now considering using his basement waterproofing services.
