Asphalt Shingle Roofing Repair
$3,898
they replaced the shingles on top of a bay window where there had been an ice dam and added underlayment. The siding on the house is pre-colored Hardie board, while doing the work two of the Hardie boards broke. They replaced the broken boards with two primed but unpainted Hardie boards . They never asked if we had more pre-colored boards in the basement. We did! I asked them to make this right by pulling off the two unpainted panels and putting in the factory painted ones - The asked for an extra 650 which seems like a lot Before the job the communication was great, lots of pictures, but they did not say Hardie board is likely to break - which would would have gotten me to point out where the spares were After the wrong boards went up they were responsive and polite but not helpful The contract that i signed said they were not responsible for painting any siding, so they were technically right but they left me on my own

Farina did a great job installing our new shingle and metal roof. Wagner, the project supervisor, communicated clearly and promptly, making it easy for us to follow along and offer input. We really appreciated the smooth and transparent process.

Farina roofing just finished installing new edpm roofs on my 2 triple deckers . Cleison and his crew did a terrific job, took care of every detail - the workmanship was outstanding. Lucas, the supervisor was available throughout the entire project to answer questions and keep things moving. When an unforeseen plumbing issue occurred with a very old damaged roof drain Lucas was able to connect with a plumber who immediately responded and quickly replaced the damaged section without delaying the job. Farinas pricing was very competitive, Paulo the sales rep was able to quickly respond, estimate the job and start the permitting process within a few days. I would definitely recommend this company to anyone in need of a first class roofing job.

We were very happy with the work done by RB Farina’s teams. There was good on-site communication ensuring we were provided updates of the progress and any additional time needed. The finished work was done with high quality. Their teams have a lot of expertise and provided good advice throughout the process on how to fix our roof leak issue. Would recommend to anyone needing roof work done and we plan to use them again.

Victor did a great job with his crew getting 2 flashing sites repaired around 2 chimneys. After setting up some safety equipment, they worked diligently all day in the cold and ice, basically non stop to get the job done which required time consuming, detailed skill sets for this specialized work. Although it hasn’t been tested by the weather yet, he assured us a quick response if the seeping problem persists. We are very pleased with Farina and their professionalism and with their customer communication.

I used Farina twice this year, for a commercial building in Norwood and a residential building in Cambridge. Rodrigo did a thorough job scoping both jobs, providing details and advice beyond what we got from competitors. In Cambridge, our on-site manager Wagner and head carpenter Luiz were committed to doing the work correctly, and keeping me informed along the way. In the office, it was a pleasure working with Sarah and Beatriz as we worked to schedule the jobs before snow flew and reconciled the final invoices. Don't hesitate to engage Farina--they are as professional and competent a vendor as you'll find in the Boston area.

I had an excellent experience with RB Farina's work replacing old wooden gutters and old wooden fascia and soffits with new aluminum gutters and PVC soffit, fascia, and molding on my small house. I must have caught things at a good time, in late winter, because it was just 8 days between my posting my job description on Angies List, and the dumpster leaving my driveway after the work was completed. The original bid was completed at the original price, with some extras (significant touchup painting, and a quick repair on the 2nd story shutter of my neighbor who was kind enough to let us use her yard for ladders) done with no upcharge. I did not seek multiple bids so I cannot say whether the price was high or low; I counted on the fact that the bidder could expect competition. Weather was good for working and we had no ugly surprises from my very old house, so the work went pretty smoothly. I had the pleasant experience of finding that for each of the materials and methods that I either knew about or researched, in every case the Farina team was using top quality. They are good about communication: calls to the office, or by cellphone to the estimator, always were answered live or resulted in callback in a few minutes. The onsite crew was polite, responsive, and very professional. (They also looked like they were enjoying their work, which is always a good sign). The office was very proactive: the written bid arrived quickly, and every check I wrote resulted in an emailed invoice/receipt within a couple hours. For this they are using a platform called HouseCallPro, which automates the workflow considerably. (Why shouldn't buying this kind of services get as good a workflow and email trail as, say, ordering a toaster on the Internet?) . I worked hard to make the jobsite easy to work in (moved stuff away from the house, took down my window screens before they came, ran a wire out the window to provide 20amp electric power, provided a map of where the electricity and water are on outside of house, provided outside access to a bathroom), and the crew was appreciative. Day 1 was demolition, Day 2 was carpentry, Day 3 and 4 were gutter hanging, sealing, and painting. Once they got the gutters up and sealed, they ran the hose into the gutter to check for leaks and flow before they did their final cleanup and left. After watching how they did this work and what materials they used, I have pretty high confidence that their work will last a long time,. I plan to sign up for their annual gutter/roof/chimney maintenance program so that my gutters get cleaned and somebody I trust looks at my roof.

Leo and Ricardo showed up to look at the job on time and they were very professional. They evaluated all the troubled spots and took pictures. They provided a comprehensive quote within a day or two complete with the photos they had taken. I had a few questions on the quote which May in the office tried to answer. Once she was unable to answer some of these questions she had Leo and Ricardo call me. May is very easy to get in touch with but Leo and Ricardo are a little more difficult to reach since they are out in the field all day. Once I approved the quote the were at the house the next day to erect scaffolding. They also were expecting a deposit from me which was never made clear so there was a little confusion there. Our house was built in 1884 so after they started work they discovered the roof was in worse shape then they originally anticipated. They were quick to send photos of the condition of the roof but I was never given a firm price as to what the additional costs would be. They completed work in 3-4 days and clean up was done professionally. The additional work they needed to do was significant and I was never fully made aware of what this was until I received the final bill. I trusted Farina that the price Farina billed me on the additional work was fair. This is based on the other quotes I received from other roofers-all of which seemed either too simplistic of a fix or far too comprehensive and expensive considering the size of the leaks.

Fantastic! They called me back the Monday after my Saturday evening call, did an estimate on Tuesday (identified the reason for the leakage and offering two different options – we went for the more complete, ideally longer-lasting one), and squeezed this admittedly small job in between other jobs within a few weeks. We have already recommended them to our neighbors.

Ricardo, the crew leader, is friendly and knowledgeable. He came out to provide an estimate and then supervised the 2-day job. The team was on-time and professional, and they cleaned up thoroughly as well. Their work was immediately followed by several weeks with sustained and heavy rain, and there were no leaks! We were completely satisfied with the entire process: estimate, scheduling, job, clean-up, and quality.

Crew of 4 to 6 guys would arrive before 7:30 AM and completed the job within three days. Cleaned up every night before leaving. Very professional. Also the manager/supervisor Ricardo was honest and a gentleman.

I first called another roofer who never came inside to look at the stains or went up on the roof. That roofer said by visual inspection he could tell I did not need a new roof and his company only dealt with replacements. But, he hazarded a guess at what was wrong and said if anyone actually went up on the roof, it would cost around $800. I then called Farina who scheduled an estimate; they arrived on schedule. The gentleman came inside and took pictures of the stains. I received an estimate about a week later and was asked to agree to it or not by email. I agreed and about another week passed and they showed up at my house to do the work, again going inside first to look at where the stains were. The actual work took less than an hour-so far, so good. Assuming that the leak is fixed, the only thing that could have been better was if I was told beforehand when they would do the work, instead of their just showing up. Luckily, I was home.

These guys are exceptional. We called Farina Roofing to come take a look at our roof which was in need of replacement. Ricardo and Rafael came out promptly to inspect the roof and provided us with an estimate right away. Their professionalism was unparalleled to other companies we met with and we were even more impressed by the quality of their work. Their crew was excellent and we are so pleased with the outcome. We definitely recommend them for any roofing project and would hire them back in the future.

Quick response to repair leak which was great because heavy rains were on the way. Partial roof replacement was very conveniently scheduled around the weather and my and my tenants availability. Work was completed in less than a full day. They cleaned up well. No mess left outside the house or on the porches (3 family house).

The job was supposed to take a day, but it actually ran over three days. Shingles arrived on Wednesday and IF the crew finished a previous job, they would be there in the afternoon. No one showed up by 1 so I called the office to be told they would be there on Thursday weather permitting. Crew there and started working bright and early, finished back of house and then cleaned up and left. Again call to office, left for day due to impending bad weather. Friday, job was finally completed. They did a good job and the clean up was very good, but communication was not great. If you use them, make sure the crew boss tells you what is going on.
