One of the most horrible experiences I have ever had with a company. I initially hired this company in April 2022 to replace an old fence with a 6ft cedar board-on-board fence. 1) The fence that was initially installed by this company used horrible wood that was splitting and looked burnt. When I texted the co-owner (Gary) photos of the fence after it had been installed, he stated, "your fence has been burnt and those are ashes on the ground." I couldn't believe his response. I told him that I would know if my fence had caught on fire. A few days later, he and his business partner came to my house to replace some of the bad pickets, and once they arrived, they realized it was much worse than they thought. The co-owner (not the one that I dealt with) remarked that the fence should have never been put up in the first place with all the bad wood. It was so bad that they agreed to replace the entire fence. One would think that this company would have inspected the wood before installing it a customer's house. Additionally, apparently the crew that this company used was so inept that they went ahead and installed the bad wood. 2) A few days later, the company then sent the co-owner's brother's fence company to replace the entire fence. While the quality of the wood installed was better, there were still issues with the installation. For example, one of the pickets was placed over one of my sprinkler heads in my garden bed. I had to call this company AGAIN to come out and fix this. Again, an individual that came out to fix it was from the brother's company and he acknowledged that it was obvious where this sprinkler head was and that the picket should not have been placed over the sprinkler head. This individual also noticed one of the metal caps on the ground behind a shrub that goes on top of the post. I saw the cap lying there on the side, but didn't know what it was. Anyway, the guy noticed it and put it on the post. He told me it was important for all of the posts to be capped because if rain gets in them, the posts can be ruined. 3) Then a couple of months later, I noticed a cap missing from another post on a side of the yard I rarely go on. However, this time, there was no cap on the ground. The cap was just missing. The co-owner is still refusing to place the missing cap on the fence post. 4) When the first fence was installed with the bad wood, I had the co-owner drill a hole in my fence so that Atmos could read my gas meter, since the meter is located behind the fence. In fact, I called Atmos on the phone while the co-owner was at my house and they recommended a hole be put in the fence. The co-owner then immediately drilled a hole in the fence and it didn't take him more than 5 minutes. However, when the second fence was installed, they forgot to drill a hole in the fence and with all that had been going on, I forgot about it. Then one day, an Atmos rep knocks on my door and tells me that she can't read my gas meter and needs access to my backyard. I then texted the co-owner and asked him when he could install a hole in the new fence. He initially agreed to do it, but never did. At one point, he claimed to be "sick," and said he would get to it when he could. A month later, I still had heard nothing from him and had to pay a handyman to drill a hole in the fence. 5) I also noticed a piece of lumber that fell from one of my gates when I closed it. It apparently fell from the top of the gate and there's another piece next to it that is loose and about to fall out as well. The co-owner characterized this as a "scrap piece of wood" and refuses to do anything about it. When I contacted the co-owner about these most recent problems, he had a very nasty and snarky attitude. In fact, he asked me if I wanted him to come by and take the whole fence down and give me my money back. Then he said he couldn't be expected to drop by my house "every week" to fix the problems that he and his brother's company caused. I would NEVER hire this company again due to the poor workmanship and the nasty, snarky, uncooperative, unprofessional attitude of the co-owner.
