We bought a house with drainage issues. I started my search for a drainage specialist with "Trust Dale" He recommended Aqua Guard. Aqua Guard said they have someone they regularly work with that specializes in the work that we needed. His name is Doug Reese. Reese has a website showing a video that featured him on a local news show with the President of Aqua Guard.
Doug Reese tells me he doesn't even advertise his business because of all the referral he gets from AquaGuard.
Doug Reese' plan was to install a french drain in a negative grade area near the foundation of home. Route the water under the back deck with a river rock bed. The river rock bed was installed to carry the water in a path and prevent erosion of the deck footers that were being eroded by water. Doug Reese did not fix the problem. He placed the french drain pipe in a ditch and piled the rocks onto the pipe. The water now travels along side the pipe and continues to erode the dirt under the footers.
.
He was to divert water away from top of deck by creating a inverted swale. After having his non english speaking workers dig the swale he decides he can't continue with that plan. He states that pool that is located nearby is at a higher than the deck. His new solution was to place a perforated black drain pipe along side the deck. The pipe was placed in a shallow ditch with no rock and fabric. He proceeds to tell me I should thank him because he did not charge me $600 for laying that 10 feet of plastic pipe. I measured the pool deck and it was only 1" to 1 1/2" higher.
I tried to call Doug Reese a few times to fix the river rock bed. He thought he could use some of our decorative landscaping rock to make the river rock bed instead of purchasing river rock like the contract stated. He finally called back after I complained to AquaGuard. When he arrived to fix the problem he stepped towards me and proceeds to shout at me saying I was questioning his integrity for not returning my phone calls. His brother who came to help, calmed him down. I had to keep my composure because I had my 2 year old daughter within an earshot. Doug Reese is very unprofessional to yell at a customer.
I called AquaGuard to see if they could help. They never returned my call.
Never do business with someone who has a P.O. Box as their address. It makes it difficult to file a lawsuit.

Response from Reese Construction Company Inc.
"In Respone to this customer . One there is no warranty as i clearly stated to him on drainanage. After he had the work done for three months with out a single comlplaint. He wanted me to take responsiblity for the hundred year flood of2013. Fact he lives in on a farm tract land on three acres of land with below other farm type lot that drain naturally and slopes toward his back of house with is alaready below grade and was built with typically unconventionally construction prevasive in Atlanta. The home he brought was inspected by his inspector which told him his block piers were not at code . The work we done was far and above any soution he could get from other contractors . He also has rail road ties built in from of his deck as the support wall which are deteriorating and are hazard waste because of the creosote in them , in which i explained to him he needs to replace them with block and add more piers under his deck per the inspections report. And never not once has his basement leak. Because we did drainage work. Its unfornunate that these type of customers try to use contractors for there frustration because they purchase a home below grade in a flood zone. Sorry but with over 20 years of drainage, waterproofing and mold remediation work experience in the Atlanta Market. some customer will never be happy no matter what you do,"
