What a nightmare this has become. I almost had to beg to get an estimate then I had to wait for installation for a week. The install was not done correctly. The unit is not sealed properly and I can not get anyone at Reeves to respond to my issue.

Here is the letter I sent to their email address:

Reeves Air Conditioning 07/08/14

545 Glover Street. SE

Marietta, GA 30060

UPDATE:8/22/14

As of today, we still do not have a resolution. There have been many emails back and forth and one attempt to fix the problem on site. Reeves thinks that 30% air leakage from the coil and heating/cooling unit is acceptable. I do not.

Reeves has offered to "repossess" the unit but they expect me to pay 60% to cover their costs. $2460 for nothing, is that right? What about my time, and all the time my renters have been inconvenienced? Why should I be out the whole loss for something they could not get to work right? It seems to me that if a company is hired to do a job they should do it right and make the equipment work efficiently.

They have accused me of slander for posting this review. I feel that it
is fact and is no way meant to slander the company but only to warn
future customers of my experience.

Re: HVAC installation at 1970 Meadowbrook Lane, Marietta, GA 30067

Mrs. Reeves,

This letter is to inform you of my dissatisfaction with you personally and the service your company has displayed. Below is the time line of events:

I called for a repair on the AC unit. A person was sent out to look at the system and said it was leaking Freon and the system had to be replaced because of the new coolant laws that had to be used. He said I would have an estimate for the new system by 4:00. 4:00 came and went, and so did the next day without any word from your company. I finally called and spoke with you and got a verbal estimate. Because we have been a customer for so long, and in the past you have given great service, I spent a little more with your company instead of choosing a company with a lower price.

I agreed on replacement of the complete heater and A/C system. Because of the 4th of July Holiday you could not get out to put in the system until Monday July 7th. I arrived at the home to be there for the install. The young man that came out stated to my renter that he had never put in a heater unit like that one before. At 5:00 PM they said they had completed the install. When I checked out the system there was air blowing inside the closet. I immediately brought it to the attention of the installer. He said, it is no problem, it would just recirculate. I found air blowing from the copper line carrying the coolant into the system. So they taped it with silver tape. Then we found a hole that didn?t get sealed so they brought the sealant back in and filled the hole. The sealant was and is very sloppy. It does not reflect a professional job. I still felt a large volume of air moving around the lower portion of the unit. The installer said he didn?t know where it was coming from and didn?t know what else to do and they left. They did not have an invoice and said you would call me to work things out.

Yesterday, the day after the install, I received a call from my renter saying that he thinks the thermostat was wired improperly and that the exterior walls of the closet were very cold and the house wasn?t getting as cool as they thought it should.

I called your office at 12:05 and left a message for you to call me. It was getting late and still you had not returned my call so I ran to the recycling center to drop off the unit. They advised me I needed my invoice for them to take the condensing unit. At 2:48 PM I called your office and Gary answered the phone. I explained to him what I needed and told him I was standing at the recycling center and needed my invoice faxed to them. He put me on hold. Then you picked up and began with a very unprofessional attitude. Your statement about ?this is getting to be a hassle ?and that I already got an incredible deal and you wished you hadn?t taken the job? was unnecessary and very unprofessional. I explained to you that I was standing at the center and needed the invoice faxed and you started saying they weren?t supposed to take the unit you then asked which recycling center I was at and you asked to talk to the attendant. Before turning the phone over to the attendant I informed you that there is a problem with the unit, you asked what so I explained it to you. You again asked to talk to the attendant so I gave him the phone. When I got the phone back you had hung up. I waited in the loud, dirty, un-air-conditioned building with no chairs for an hour and still no invoice faxed. I left the center. The unit is still on my husband?s truck and now I have to make a 2nd trip. My husband needs his truck for work and will have to be without it another day because you felt that they should not take the unit from me.

When my husband got home from work, he called your office at 4:33 PM. It takes a lot to anger him but somehow you managed. He informs me you said that I was evil, and you had never dealt with anyone like me before. Excuse me??? I have been nothing but patient with you and your busy schedule.

We still have to deal with the improper installation. I expect for you to have a qualified, experienced technician at the house to review the problem and correct all problems and re-install it correctly. This will have to be completed before Friday. For every day this continues to be an issue I will deduct $150.00 a day for the inconvenience of my tenants and my time to deal with your issues.

I am sorry after 25 years of service with your company we have to end it this way.

I look forward to a quick and civil resolution to these issues.

UPDATE 04/22/15

We hired another company to make the hvac system work correctly and fix all the mistakes.
We tried to get Reeves to reduce their invoice by the amount me paid to the other contractor but never got an answer.
Then we were served paper by the sheriff. Again we contacted Reeves with the same offer. This time the accepted. We will pay Reeves their invoice less what we paid the other contractor when we have proof that they have dropped the law suit. We are still waiting on that proof. 04/22/15. I will be glad when this is put to bed!

The owner of the company is very nice. When I called about the mold, she gave me some steps that I could take on my own before having them come out and paying the fee. They are also good about using inexpesive parts and giving customers a very fair deal.

Our A/C went out on a Sunday, the day before July 4th. The temperature outside was well into the 90's, and not much cooler inside.

I made several calls to companies with good Angie's List ratings. Most of those companies declined the emergency call - and a few showed a little attitude doing so.

Steve Harris, from Reeves Htg & A/C, returned my call immediately and asked for the information about the job. Within 30 min. he was here, solved the problem and checked all the A/C equipment to make sure everything else was OK. And he charged a very reasonable amount.

Reeves Htg & A/C (and Steve Harris) did a great job and saved our July 4th holiday.

(NOTE: Bartlett and Estes also responded quickly to our emergency - but some of the other "big name" companies showed they really don't care much for helping someone in need. I'll remember that when we need to replace the A/C system.)
THE BEST IN THE BUSINESS...Original quote for work, from several different companies, ranged from $1500-$5000. Reeves came in, took a deeper look at our existing set-up, and make changes based on our equipment and our needs. They were honest, dependable, and reliable. Professional to the nth degree...they knew our names, our dogs' names, the fact my wife had just given birth based on the fact that at the time of original quote my wife was 9 months pregnant, knew my favorite 'ball teams, but MOST IMPORTANTLY, took care of the job at hand based on the needs of their client and NOT HOW TO MAKE A QUICK BUCK OR ADD TO THE BOTTOM LINE. I will always use REEVES HEATING AND AIR. NO QUESTION!!

Our 21 year old A/C unit failed in July and we had them install a new Trane A/C. We have done business with Reeves Heating & Air for 20 years. They are always courteous, on time, and quick to fix any problems. They stand behind their work and they were very helpful in helping us get our tax credit filed.

This is the second time that we have used Reeves, but it definitely won't be the last! The first call last fall was to get a second opinion on a repair. Our contracted H&AC company took several hours to find the problem and then quoted a >$500 estimate for the part alone to complete the repair. Based on Angie's List recommendations I contacted Reeves. The problem was, in fact, a simple repair that the Reeves tech found and completed quickly. (I asked up front how much it would cost if the intial work was necessary. The replacement part would have been HALF the cost I was quoted by the other company). On this visit, the technician cleaned and serviced both AC units and replaced filters on two air filtering units. The gentleman was very helpful and gave me good tips to maximize the efficiency of my filtering systems. He could have persuaded me that I needed to remodel the duct work to improve air flow, but instead he was very honest and said that such work would be very expensive and would not guarantee that I would get the results that I wanted. His professionalism, honesty and helpfullness convinced me that I should call Reeves for my H&A/C work in the future. They are quick, prompt, courteous, and honest. What more could I ask for?

This was an after hours call. I left my name and number as stated on their office line. The gentleman called back within 5 minutes and promised to arrive within 45 minutes to 1 hour. He arrived on time and found the control board to be faulty. He replaced the control board and filter. He was very professional and courteous.

Disconnected and removed 30 year old system from my house on July 10, 2008. Installed and started the cooling system on July 10, 2008 and returned the following Monday to connect the Natural Gas to France, installed new plastic pipe exhaust and test the Gas furnace. Ducking had to be adjusted to accommodate the new high efficiency air filter. Foreman/sales person came by Tuesday to inspect System.

I think they did a great job on the air ducts for me. The previous installation was done very badly, but now this one has been done nicely. I got other quotes which were almost three times more expensive than this one, so I'm glad I found these guys.

I've used Reeves a few times and they are always so quick to come with help. This is very important to me, especially during the summer heat. No one wants to be in a house without air conditioning, so I'm so thankful that Reeves usually comes out the same day I call them. They are always honest, reliable, and the pricing is reasonable.

Salesman came out same day to give estimate which was very reasonable. When job was started the crew of 2 arrived on time, went right to work and worked steadily all day. The second day they wrapped pipes. They were careful about cleaning up the mess and left every thing as they found it. The job was done without a problem. They knew exactly what to do and did it. The salesman came by each day and helped me with the thermostat and was available to answer any questions. The whole job was handled in a very business like way.
