From the moment we walked into the showroom and were greeted by Elizabeth the project went well. Elizabeth was very helpful in choosing the fabric and offering suggestions as needed. Elizabeth and Michael, one of the owners, came to our condo to measure the windows. They spent the better part of two hours with us discussing our options. The design we ended up with checked all the boxes that were important to us. The shades were ready when promised and the installer did a great job! We have done several home projects and this one was as seamless as a home project could be. We would definitely use Regency again!! And more importantly, we would recommend Regency to our closest friends. Good friends are too hard to come by to be too loose with a recommendation! The cost was $4,500 after an Angie's List discount and taxes. The website wouldn't allow me to put in an approximate cost close enough to the actual cost.

Perfectly, start to finish. Their sales rep, Eileen, was prompt, professional, knowledgeable. She thoroughly explained all of our options and offered a number of helpful suggestions. This was not an easy installation as we have a variety of arched windows, triple and double sliders, and transom windows in this space. The gentleman who did the final measurements was very precise and no adjustments were necessary during installation. The finished product was installed on time with great care by a team of men who clearly take pride in the work they do and it is beautiful. The job was completed on time and for the agreed upon price (which was the mid-range of the three estimates we got.). Regency has photos which I imagine they would be happy to provide upon request.

Tremendous service and product.  A true pleasure to do business with.  They gave suggestions and double checked everything.  I wish all contractors were this great. <br />

They had a nice mechanic who came and did a good job. I had a small problem getting an estimate at first, but we got it straightened out due to a problem I had with someone at the office. We spent $800 on blinds with them.

They called, but were still an hour late for the installation.  Difficulty in programming the remotes, but I felt sorry for the guy who was doing his best and getting all the help he needed over the phone.  Very pleasant at all times, and the final job is superb. <br />

Searched Angies List for a local supplier and Regency popped up. I called and spoke to Robert, then we went to their location to see what was available.  Bernie helped us, explaining the differences between materials, etc. No fancy showroom, just a very pleasant experience and I decided then and there that this was the type of business that I want to deal with! Bernie came to measure the next day, said about 4 weeks then called 2 weeks later to set up the install. From the moment the installers arrived I just knew I made a good choice; two neat, clean, friendly guys that were an absolute pleasure to have in my house. As for the product, they look so good I'm considering doing the rest of the house and I would never think of dealing with any other company! <br /> I had them come in to finish  the rest of the house in early Dec.  Same excellent service and product, anyone considering installing Plantation Shutters will not go wrong using Regency.

My family and friends thought I should write a review about the issues we had with installation and the products. That is below. But first, I want to share the way the owner, Bernie, treated me. <br /> <br /> <strong>During a 15 minute phone conversation, he:</strong> <br /> <br /> (1) stated that I was unreasonable approximately 10 times (even "the most outrageously unreasonable client he's had in 40 years"), <br /> (2) asked if I wanted him to play a message from the manufacturer so I could hear him say I was unreasonable, and <br /> (3) said that I should "look in the mirror and see what I see." <br /> <br /> He asked what it would take to make this go away? How much did I want?  He refused to come to my house to see the product installed: to see what my husband, stepmother (a designer for 20 years now) and I were seeing. That would have been the right thing to do. But instead he said he was never coming back to my home again (he'd only been the one time to make the sale). <br /> <br /> Even if (...if) I was unreasonable, that doesn't give him the right to be disrespectful and bully me. Given his 40 years of experience, we had expected professionalism at all times. <br /> <br /> Bernie called me at 7:41pm, after I texted him a request to speak the next morning. <br /> <br /> <strong>Here is the main issue:</strong>  We did not receive the blinds in the color that we ordered based on the sample provided to us. <br />     <br /> I selected from the wood blind samples a color that matched our wall color. (We painted with Benjamin Moore - Feather Down (OC-6) - in the cream family.). The wood blinds and valances we received were white against our walls. The installer came back after the install with the sample so we could confirm the color was not correct. The sample and blinds were labeled with the same color name, but the actual color between the two were not the same. My husband and I placed the blinds and sample flat against our walls. The sample matched our walls (as before), but the blinds didn't. The valances were even further off from our color selection. <br /> <br /> The installer spoke on the phone with Bernie and Bernie offered to take one of the blinds and a valance to the manufacturer. We were not at that meeting. Bernie and the manufacturer inspected the sample against the product under the light at the manufacturer's and determined that they were within spec. Not sure what light they used, but in our home (where it matters) the <br /> blinds color was not what we ordered (based on the sample we were provided).  Bernie did however agree that the valance color was off. <br /> <br /> Bernie said he would do whatever it took to make me happy, even make the blinds over. But, he did not think they would come out any different than what we received. I stressed all day about what to do. My husband told me I was thinking too much about what is easiest for Bernie and not what is right. I ignored my husband and instead elected to have only the valances done over, <br /> figuring maybe I could live with the blinds. <br /> <br /> But before the job was completed, I realized that I could not live with the blinds. Just not what we ordered. <br /> <br /> So I contacted Bernie. He denied ever saying he would do whatever it took to make me happy or redo the blinds. He stated that the blinds would not be done over.  (For the record, I did not ask him to do the blinds over because he said they would come out the same.) He said it was not his fault that I chose the wrong color. (If the sample matched our wall color and the blinds did not, how did I choose the wrong color?) I wanted his recommendation about what to do. But, unfortunately, this is the call that he turned abusive (described above). And, as I said, he refused to come to our home and see what his products and the sample looked like here. He wanted only to make this go away and end the relationship. <br /> <br /> Since it was clear from his words and behavior that we would not receive satisfactory resolution, I accepted $200 off (previously offered by the manufacturer). But still didn't receive the color we ordered. <br /> <br /> <strong>Update: </strong> <br /> <br /> I contacted the manufacturer of the window blinds directly to get this resolved. A fantastic woman there researched the issues thoroughly.  When done, she agreed with my assessment.  She said it was rare for this to happen with their blinds. (I believe her, so don't let that keep you from trying Norman blinds.)  She contacted Regency, which graciously agreed to participate in the resolution proposed by the manufacturer - which was for the manufacturer to have my blinds re-made.  When we received them, and before I said a word, my husband commented on the difference between the color of the newly re-made blinds compared to the original ones. <br /> <br /> <strong>Below are other issues and points to note:</strong> <br />         <br /> We asked the installer if when he removed our current window treatments we would need to patch and paint (we had painted a new color last year). He said no because the new product would cover it. He installed the blinds. Old paint and holes were not covered. My husband and I tried to paint around the installed product while the installer worked in other rooms.  In the end, we had to have him come back another time because the patch material wouldn't have dried in time for us to paint before he was done.  Since the blinds were already installed, we blue-taped the heck out of the frames and wrapped the blinds in saran wrap to protect them. Not fun. <br />     <br /> The valance for our slider's roller shade was stapled to a raw piece of wood. After it was installed, my husband pointed out that the end of the raw wood was visible. The installer offered to take it back to the shop and paint it. We accepted. It came out well. <br /> I asked for the one blind they took to the manufacturer to be returned as soon as possible so I could have privacy in my living room. (My husband was out of town and I wanted the security.). They understood my concern and did so. <br />         <br /> When the new valances arrived, they installed them. They didn?t match the sample. They are still white as can be against our walls. <br /> <br /> The installer, Dave, was courteous and professional at all times.  He brought his son with him once too. I gave him chocolate and showed him the ducks in our backyard.

From initial consultation to installation,  our experience was excellent.  I wanted shutters for our new build home and did a lot of research on different companies and quality.  I found Regency on Angie's List and could not have been happier.  Bernie and Ilene educated us on the different types of shutters and we wanted a product that was made locally and their manufacturing facility is right in Delray Beach.  Shutters are not inexpensive, but I found their prices to be more than competitive with other potential vendors.  The shutters went in last week, and the installation was seamless.  Steven, the main installer, was terrific and I could not have been happier with the final result.  I would highly recommend Regency to anyone out there looking for good quality and service. <br />

<p>Great experience from beginning to end.  People are very friendly and professional.  Installers are very tidy and efficient.  Most of all, I LOVE my shutters!  They look fantastic! People walk in my house and all I hear is, "OMG!"</p> <br />

Met with owner for measurements, advised me on best option and said job would be done by xmas and it was!  <br /> No high pressure sales or add ons....Professional guys, and priced right. Don't hesitate to at least let them give you an estimate. <br /> Everyone else I called would have taken longer because they don't manufacture the shutters.  <br />

We had 3 companies come out to provide an estimate and Ilene from Regency made the best presentation and suggested a decorative edge that looks awesome .  She and her partner are great to work with.  We were given a discount for being a member on Angies List.  My husband was home when they were installed and said the installers were professional.  They look beautiful and I can't believe how they dressed up my home.  Well worth the investment!  I would definitely recommend them.  Thank you!    Donna & Marty Merkau <br />

The product is BEAUTIFUL!! We are so happy we chose Regency. Our only complaint is,  we had to call to follow up on our order and every time we were not on the schedule.  We told them we were not in a hurry to complete project as we were in the middle of a master bedroom remodel. However, original order was placed 4/25/13 and job finished 8/29/13.  The shutters were hung on or about 7/10. The problem arose from a special board to cover track. Regency did a very good job to correct the problem.  The people at Regency are very nice and extremely good at what they do. We would absolutely recommend them and use them again. If you use them, just follow up! <br />

Arrived on time for measurement. I was told it would take about 5 weeks to install. It took about 8 weeks due to three windows being curved at the top. Installation went well.

Regency was great! I called and they immediately scheduled a time to come out that same week. When she arrived she was well prepared and had samples of every possible design I could want. She was very knowledgable about recommending what type and style shutter we should get to match our existing shutters. We agreed on a design and price and she gave an estimate on completion date. 8 weeks later (right on time!) they called back to schedule the install. The install was done quickly and looked great. The quality of the work was amazing. We would definitely use this company again. <br />
