Steve was a total pro from beginning to end. Email or text, he responded. Told me he would arrive at an approximate time. At about that time both texted and called to make sure I knew he was running a few minutes behind. Still arrived within his promised window. Was very mindful of social distancing and did an excellent job. Honest, professional, and clean. His clean up was also perfect. I will be hiring him again in the near future.

Steve did a excellent job It only took him 3 days to complete the job. He kept everything neat and clean, and made sure that I was completely satisfied with his work. His price was very reasonable and I will definitely hire him again for any projects. He showed up on time and took care of this project I am very happy with his work and is shows I will be recommending him to others as well Thanks Steve

Great experience start to finish. We knew this was going to be a difficult job to begin. Steve knew just what to do. He is knowledgeable and experienced. He gave a fair quote for the job and delivered as promised. Workmanship, finish and cleanup were excellent. No delays or upselling. We look forward to using him again on our next project.

After starting strong and doing great work at first, the excuses started. He never seemed to be able to show up when promised. He always said “I’m on the way”. He lived about a half hour away and he would often take up to five hours to come if he showed up at all. He used the corona virus as his main source of excuses why he started showing up less and less frequently, though he kept assuring us that he did not have it and he was just “sick” with the flu. In fact he went back and forth several times saying that he was getting better, then worse, then better again, then worse, etc. We believed that was a lie and that he was just juggling other jobs with ours. He kept bringing in subcontractors to help him and told us how great they all were and then most of them were busts and they didn’t return. He blamed them but we found out later from those subcontractors that he wasn’t paying them any of the money that we gave him. In fact several of them came to me looking for their money that he owed them. Totally unprofessional. We paid him all but $1000 at the end when we fired him which was less then the work he didn’t finish or that needed to be corrected. Some of his work was done satisfactorily but a number of things needed to be fixed at further expense by another contractor. We paid him on time, every time with no excuses. He however, made numerous excuses and told multiple lies. He tried offering to “make things right” when we fired him but at that point our trust in him had totally been ruined. In fact, we told him him at the beginning that we had numerous problems with previous shady contractors and he assured us that he was “different”. He was not different at all. Just another shady contractor looking to take the money and run. To top it all off, he refused to take responsibility for his wrong doings and tried to blame us by saying “maybe the problem is you”. Sorry, but wanting the job done correctly and on time is being the “problem”. Expecting a contractor to make good on their promises and show up is not being the “problem”. Expecting to not be harassed by his subcontractors for money that I already paid him is not being the problem. We held up our end of the bargain, he did not. It’s that simple. Needless to say, we would never hire him again.

Ramp needed some adjustments and Remodel King did the corrections without added charges and had an excellent attitude about needed changes; he worked hard and fast beyond my expectations which is why I asked him to do a 2nd job tile; his expertise is quite impressive and he excelled in providing quality work and service on both jobs. Seeking to hire again pending funds.

I have used Mr. Joanou of Remodel King for several jobs over the years including: Complete Kitchen remodel - new cabinets/tile Electrical conduit repair due to dated systems Plumbing - main sewer line and gas connections & re-piping of single family dwelling/multi-family properties. Patio/exterior roof demo/rebuild Each and every occassion, I have found his bids for jobs to be on par or lower than other reliable contractors. He and his workers always show up as agreed and get each job done as promised. I consider his work to be more than satisfactory and provides me with updates and follow-through once work is complete. Whenever I have an issue, Mr. Joanou is extremely prompt in returning phone calls and has scheduled any job I need done in a timely fashion. He is someone I can count on being there, even at the drop of a hat. I strongly recommend Remodel King/Steve Joanou for ANY work one might need at their own home or rental property.

A really DISHEARTENING experience. Super responsive until he got my deposit check and everything went downhill from there. Very smooth talker who promises great customer service but doesn't deliver. Constant excuses as to why he was delaying the work. Completely unprofessional, forgetting appointments, one reason after another including "I forgot I have a wedding to attend". When he finally installed the window after showing up 5 hours late he did not do a good job and while he was extraordinarily defensive he did promise to come back. It's been over a month and no return. He responds to texts occasionally and always with an excuse. (ie: sorry for the delay, I was on vacation" Bottom line is I used Angies List to avoid drama and in the end we would have been better off if we'd never engaged him in the first place.

The project went great. Steve came out to give an estimate, was on time and had great ideas. I had 4 estimates, and his price was competitive but his attention to detail was above the rest. I had 2 gates torn down and replaced, one a very large double-door driveway gate, the other a pedestrian gate. Both new gates are redwood, beautifully finished, and most importantly, secure. The third gate didn't need replacing, so he refinished that and upgraded the hardware. A solid job by Steve and his crew all around.

I hired this guy without any references. (Give me an 'F'). I told him what I wanted him to do and he led me to believe that this was a big deal requiring going under the house and addressing any joist problems and replacing a 18" hardwood slat.
still has some give. He indicated it would take most of the day so I thought the job was pretty extensive. He was done in less than 3 hours. Didn't really do a great job. Pounded in some nails and installed the threshhold crooked. Floor Sawed a supporting beam in the garage that I hadn't authorized.
I paid wht we had agreed on but I'm not happy with the quality of his work or his price. I think he inflated the job initially so he could charge more.
Not even licensed contractor's in my area are making $250 an hour.
This was just my experience
Contractor did not finish the job. I was left with $1500 worth repairs to electrical and hot tub. Carpentry was fine, perhaps overpriced, but contractor misrepresented his ability to do the job. Do not use.

"Mrs. [Member Name Removed] is a very nice lady, I did her project she paid me in full! . She was very happy. Her spa guy showed up to hook up the spa. I think he shorted it out and put the blame on me. A couple week later mrs [Member Name Removed] told me I owed her $1500 I disagreed my work was finished and I was paid in full"
