Richie's Refinishing

All I can say is WOW! From start to finish Rich was a true professional. The way he speaks of his work truly shows his passion for what he does. When I walked in this evening I felt like I was on an HGTV makeover show - I actually got tears of happiness in my eye! I would highly recommend Rich and his company. Five stars all the way!!!

Richie and his crew did a phenomenal job. My husband and I had our 1990s kitchen cabinets transformed into a beautiful Mocha Brown. I initially chose a custom cream color. Richie called me the day he started spraying and told me I might want to reconsider my paint choice based on the way the color looked on the cabinet after applying the top coat. The paint ended up having an orangish tinge. I want to emphasize that this was no fault of his. I chose a color that was not in his typical cabinet colors. That evening after work he went out of his way to travel to my home and show me how the color looked on the cabinet. I was so happy he gave me the option to change my mind. This was the night before painting the cabinets. Richie knows paint and how it can look different in specific lighting or after the top coat is applied. After the project was completed he sat down with me to show different paint samples that would compliment the cabinets. He knew we were having painters come the following week and took the time to offer suggestions on colors and finishes. This did not benefit him in the least and just shows what a truly kind person he is. Besides being an expert in his craft he is a down to earth, and all around great guy!

I was worried about the low bidder, but it turned out great, with a professional team.

PLEASE READ AND TAKE HEED: I am yet another client who is revising my original review to an F! (For the original review, Richie persistently hounded me to complete it. I felt like some needed follow-up work had been withheld until I completed a favorable review) After less than a year and a half, the paint is peeling BADLY. I will try to post pictures to show some of the poor work. In addition to the peeling paint, when I pulled my refrigerator out to paint, I noticed that he only painted the cabinets "around" the refrigerator, which was not as agreed upon and paid for, leaving the old original paint color exposed on 3/4 of the one end of my cabinets. There was also quite a bit of over-spray left on my appliances (dishwasher, stove, refrigerator) and on my wood floor. I have been calling and leaving messages for well over a month, with zero response. I also tried to contact him through his website email, but the message "fails" each time. I would have much preferred to work with him on resolving this, versus this poor review. I am now going to need to find another contractor to repair his shoddy work.

The only thing that exceeds their passion for refinishing is the quality of their work. It was a great experience from initial consult and help with color selection to spotless cleanup. Richie has a professional team that communicated well on the project status and treated our house like it was their own.

My cabinets were maple and I had them painted an off white and gray. The transformation of my kitchen was amazing. Richie and his team were great to work with.

Superior workmanship!

After having our cabinets painted creamy white our stools didn't match any more. We had black quartz counter tops put in so we decided to have the stools painted black to match. I was concerned about the outcome because the stools looked laminated to me and I was afraid the new paint would not cover. However the stools were returned and looked like new. They were complete covered and we found no bad spots or light spots on them. We have used them a few weeks now and the paint is wearing like this was the original color. I'm very pleased and glad we had them painted as the style is not one that you can find easily. The straw seats came back with no paint on them, just as they were originally. Great job !! We are waiting until after Christmas and Rich is going to refinish the top of our kitchen table where the finish is coming off. I can't wait! He does marvelous work, we would refer him to anyone looking for a professional paint job that makes old things look new again!

The whole process was seamless Rich gave us a start date and a date of completion. He also told us what would be done each day in between. His crew kept to the schedule. They started and finished as stated. We had already had our new quartz counter tops put in and our luxury vinyl tile laid. I had concerns about the paint getting on these. However, my fears were unfounded. The crew taped off all surfaces and flooring with brown paper. We didn't find any drips or spots on the floor or counters. They also cleaned the interior of the cabinets before reattaching the cabinet doors. Their step by step process went just has they had explained to us. We found their crew to be polite and asked questions regarding our desires when unsure before continuing with the next step. We never had to "wait" for them, they were always on time and left early enough in the evening that we were never inconvenienced. We were very, very please with the outcome and have gotten numerous compliments on the work done. I should add that we also had them add picture frame trim to finish off our island. When finished it looks like it was made that way. Before we just had the flat oak backing

Excellent results! All the cabinetry looks new again. Richie was very friendly and reasonable with his pricing. We would highly recommend him!

Current experience 08/31/2016: Richie has failed to meet scheduled appointments on two separate occasions where his product has failed. The first time he said the appointment didn't make it on his schedule even though it was clearly communicated. Because of the first incident, I made extra effort to confirm the scheduled time of 9AM which he acknowledged. On the day of the second appointment he left a voice mail at 8AM in the morning before the 9AM scheduled appointment to see if I was home. I was home expecting his arrival but wasn't near my phone and didn't hear it ring. After he didn't show up for the 9AM appointment and I noticed a missed call, I started calling, emailing, and texting at 9:15AM with no response. What professional calls at 8AM and then blows off a 9AM appointment that has been confirmed much earlier? My husband then had to call Richie at 11:25AM and he magically answered the unknown dialer. Richie told my husband he would call me back. That call back never occurred. I still have issues with the work of Richie's Refinishing that Richie refuses to address. His quality of product and professionalism are lacking. As such, I am changing my ratings. First review 12/2015: Richie refinished my lower base kitchen cabinets to a new beautiful color that compliments the upper cabinet glazing, counter-top, and hardwood flooring; cleaned & put a shine back on my upper cabinets; and made a minor repair to a section of hardwood floor. He also addressed an issue I had with one of the doors a couple weeks after payment and repaired that door onsite. I?ve always thought a two-­tone kitchen in this house would be nice and I cannot be more excited to have a whole new kitchen after this contract! Richie is a craftsman, artist, and professional. He?s also a nice guy to have working around the house. HIGHLY RECOMMEND!

Wonderful! Richie, Lisa, and Greg were so professional and fun to work with. The cabinets couldn't look better! Worth every penny. It took them four days from beginning to end. They left our house cleaner than they found it.

Great! Leg was quickly reattached so like new. Didn't have to drag my heavy coffee table to a shop for repair.

Richie was able to quickly assess and remedy the trouble areas on my mahogany Thomasville dining room table. He was extremely knowledgable about the wood finishes and even repaired damage caused by a previous wood repair service. He was a pleasure to work with and I have already referred him to others. <br />

My cabinets are gorgeous. They look brand new! Rich and his team were punctual and professional. I would definitely use them again and highly recommend them for any refinishing project! <br />

I was very pleased with this company and their work.  They were very pleasant and explained everything upfront.  One important thing to me was that it was totally done when they said it would be.  The cabinets look wonderful and I would not hesitate to recommend them to others. <br />

Everything was explained to us beforehand so there were no surprises.  They said it would be done in 5 days and it was.  The cabinets came out beautifully, exactly what I wanted.  Very nice and friendly people to work with and I would not hesitate to recommend them. <br />

the tables were much darker than the original finish.  called Richie, he said he'd come out to discuss redoing work.  However, we have called at least 3 times to set a date for his return; he said he'd call when he had his calendar.  he never called back to set a date, and now he does not return our calls at all. <br />

He did a beautiful job of remaking the doors. The only work he didn't finish was the trim piece around the microwave and he did not return my original cabinet doors. I have contacted him several times to no avail. He will not return my calls and will not give me my doors back.

Couldn't paint our cabinets as he stated the cabinet surfaces weren't could be damaged by the new paint.  Painted and installed wood cabinet drawer face boards (I purchased elsewhere) which I had to deliver and pick-up for the shop over 10 miles away.  Promised to replace cabinet edging and to this date (over 6 months later) hasn't done so or called. Not much value for the advertised $900 cabinet restoration advertised! <br /> <br />

I had old oak kitchen cabinets and wanted to go to white.  Richie came and gave me an estimate and really impressed me as to his professionalism, enthusiasm, and experience.  He wasn't the cheapest bid I had, but I decided he'd provide the best quality for my job.  I go by the axiom "Nothing's a bargain if it isn't what you want."   <br /> Richie took 2 days to completely mask off the "skeleton" of my kitchen cabinets.  The doors were taken off and taken to his shop where they were spray painted.   He then painted the cabinet skeletons.  He installed "finishing boards" on the end of all exposed-end cabinets to make for a nicer finish.  He then re-installed the newly painted cabinets and put  new handles that I had provided, and put new felt bumper pads on the inside of each cabinet and drawer.  He worked very quickly and efficiently.  The cabinets turned out beautiful and really brightened the kitchen up.  He provided me extra paint and told me how to apply, if necessary.  I would definitely recommend him to anyone looking to have their cabinets re-done.  Fabulous job!! <br />
