Excellent work all around! Jose and team did an incredible job with a big project. Demo and clear of 140 ft+ of old dillapated fence. Cleared bushes and brush. Set beautiful new fence straight and true. Worked to sand, prep and stain fence to finish project. Constant communication and updates about parts, changes, preferences etc. Very happy and would recommend!

It is really hard to find the right words to express how satisfied I am with the fantastic job Jose' and his very professional crew did. I had two old fences removed and replaced. The very first thing that impressed me was how Jose' explained the estimate in detail. He explained the materials he would use and why, no nails but special screws that would last and the treated wood for the frame also. And that the fencing would be redwood. He went through every detail, answered all questions and made sure I understood. I had no idea how much work would go into this project and how prefect the end result would be. Jose' is truly an artist and conducts his business well. He and his crew and polite and courteous. They are also punctual which was difficult considering the constant on/off rain we had Still they did a great job, finishing in a short amount of time. Their work is impeccable. We are very happy with the result. It is solid! Hilltop takes pride in their work and wants to deliver high quality. After we saw how diligently Hilltop worked on the fence, we also decided to hire them for painting the house. In every large construction project, there are complications - some of them unexpected. Our protected redwoods trees provided a particular challenge requiring the fence contractor to work around the trees and their roots while not narrowing the drive way too much. This is where we really appreciated Hilltop's experience and communication. Hilltop asked us about our choices, for example, for the look of the fence or the positions of gates but was also great in pointing where these choices would result in problems later down the road we did not think of. Hilltop ultimately came up with great solutions. Hilltop also asked us frequently whether we are happy with the work and was willing to make the necessary adjustments and iterate until the job was done properly and to our satisfaction - sometimes going beyond of what was specified in the contract! This also applies to the job of painting our house. Finally, I want to share some lessons I learned when comparing different fence contractors: 1. Hilltop is one of the few contractors using screws rather than nails for their fences (and Jose from Hilltop fencing will point that out to you as well). This reflects the fact that Hilltop builds fences that are meant to last. Even though the new fence has not passed the test of time, I can already report that it is way more stable than compared to fences that are just nailed together and for which you can see the nails working their way out other time. 2. Pretty much all fence contractors use 8 foot posts for a 6 foot fence. In theory, this leaves 2 feet of the post for the foundation. And even though many fance contractors state the foundation will be 2 feet, the actual foundation will be a couple of inches short of that to, for example, account for unevenness of the terrain. I want to thank Hilltop for explaining this and answering countless other questions I had about the foundation and the fence. And I am happy report that Hilltop produced a solid foundation for our fence. 3. Ask whether disposing off the old fence includes disposing off the concrete.

New fence is well made and good looking. Nicely situated on a tricky slope. An especially fine improvisation was accomplished to connect the new fence with a sagging older section that we left in place. The material and workmanship were first rate and the price was very competitive. The crew was neat, pleasant and tended to a few minor extras with no fuss. On schedule, on budget. Hire with confidence.

Hilltop did a great job replacing our fence. They were suggested by our next-door neighbor who had used them to replace a shared fence on the opposite side of their house. Hilltop showed up as promised, and completed the work in one day. We would definitely hire them again.
