Thankfully, I got a concrete bid on the fence. After 1 week, I got an invoice for half the cost with a labor charge that was $70.00/hour! It took 4 weeks to complete the fence. He didn't set corner posts and did not stretch the fence. In addition, he and his crew would just dissapearHe claimed a huge cost over run. The laborers were very slow and they did mach of the work manually (putting in Tposts) instead of with machinery. Once the fence was in they put in a laminate floor in one room of the house. It was put in too tight and it is now buckling and he will not return any of my phone calls or messages. They also removed a closet door and will not come rehang it. <br />

Steven (Rick's partner) was fantastic. <br /> He: <ul> <li>- Arrived on time (bonus), </li> <li>- got right to work (bonus), </li> <li>- worked efficiently (i am really intolerant of slackers), </li> <li>- worked collaboratively (talked through a height decision on the pendant with me pro-actively), </li> <li>- provided great coaching (I am doing a serious DIY renovation and was working on the backsplash at the same time. He gave me some good tips)</li> <li>- let me help so as to maximize his value (I made a home depot run, he showed me how to assemble the light fixtures how he wanted them so I could do that while he was working on the plumbing)</li> </ul> <br /> I would hire them again in a heartbeat! Thanks! <br /> Update: The final pendant arrived and I was able to install it myself thanks to Steven's great prep work and showing me exactly what needed to be done when it arrived! Thanks again!

Rick was quick with communication and was able to fit me in before Christmas despite my short notice to him. He and worker showed up on time and got busy with loading his new dump truck - that came in handy! Over two days they hauled 5 loads of stuff away - a good value for the price. He gavce a good estimate and stuck to it. I will be using him for more work this winter and spring. Very positive experience! <br />

Rick did a great job. I emailed him Thursday, got a call from him that same day, and made arrangements for him to come give me an estimate Friday. He gave me a great price and was able to do the job that very morning. I was very pleased with the way the yard looked when he was done, and the care he took with our plants. <br /> He also pointed some problems with the gutters that I had missed, and offered me a low cost plan to make repairs before we had a serious problem. <br /> Overall, I was happy with his work, and would not hesitate to recommend him. He did good work at a fair price. <br />

<p>He provided us with a quote and a date to perform the service. He and his crew arrived promptly, completed the work in a professional and timely manner and did an outstanding job. He also had his crew power wash the shed (which is quite large) for no extra charge! </p> <p>We have contracted with Rick to perform the mowing/trimming service bi-weekly and he has always shown up promptly and completed the work - our yard looks great! </p> <p>We are having Rick provide us with quotes for a sidewalk and then we are going to move him to the inside of the house to quote us on some interior work that needs to be completed.</p> <p>I have the utmost confidence in recommending Rick The Handyman Holdridge for any and all of your exterior/interior jobs! As is usual with Rick, the work was first-class and very thoughtfully done. He consulted closely with me on details and was very open to suggestions. The finished job is just fine. This was, I think, the third job he has done for me. As is typical, particularly on an old house, it wound up costing more than he had estimated, but reasonable considering what was done. <br /> A few things worth mentioning: Rick charges by the man-hour at a flat $30. You will want to make sure you have a clear understanding with him on whether he will bring a helper for a given job, because a $15 helper will still cost you $30, and you don't want him standing around. <br /> As of this job, Rick had downsized his business to himself and one young helper, so availability can be a problem. Also, he has twice left the area for extended periods to work. The last time, I thought I was next in line with him once he recovered from a cold, and the next thing I knew he was in South Dakota for two weeks. I'm not sure what happened here, but at least I think he could have let me know. <br /> I am hesitating a bit about using him again for some work this spring - at best, I'll be getting other bids. <br />

Although this sounded like a simple job it really turned out to be a major pain. The cable outlet in our new house was located almost dead center on the living room wall about 8' off the floor. We called 4 different companies to find out about moving it to a more practical location. Two never showed up and the other two gave us quotes of over $500 - We tried it ourselves - what a mess!! Pulling cable is something for an expert to do - At that point we needed the cable moved and a giant hole in the wall patched. <br /> We went to Angie's List - found Rick Holdridge, who has a very good rating. We played a bit of phone tag and he came by and gave us a really reasonable quote. It did take a few weeks for them to get to us because they're pretty busy. but when his crew showed up they did a great job in no time at all, they were polite, cleaned up and didn't even mind our crazy dogs. <br /> so, if you don't mind waiting a bit - these are a great group to work with! <br />

"This is amazing! We have 32 emails praising every day and every man on this job. We also took pictures of each days work. This customer hired me by the hour, as stated in the job contract, made many changes to what was stated at estimate, then complained when I pulled my men off the job when they were verbally accosted with profane language. This is after praising them the last day they were on the job prior. We have written documentation and voice mail recordings. Here again is evidence there are some people you cannot please. We have 39 A reviews, one B, one C and every one of the other reviews still owe me money for the job. We have 16 "Page of Happiness" nominations right here. Bill still not paid and this customer paid one of my men on the side during this job."

<p>Rick provided an estimate for painting several rooms. Before the work started we agreed on painting an additional and the adjusted cost. Purchased paint quantities based on his input. Unfortunately, we bought more than twice the paint unlimately used! We later found a small strip of wall in the kitchen that had been painted and he did come and complete the job promptly.</p> <p>We lost a few shingles in a windstorm. Rick responded quickly and got the repairs done at a reasonable price.</p> <br />

Wonderful experience....He allowed my husband and I to purchase all the materials (as we get a discounted rate), creating a full list of all that was needed, saving us hundreds of dollars in material costs. His crew picked up the materials, arrived on time, worked diligently and cleaned up after themselves as though they were never there. <br /> I can't believe the stunning transformation of the bathroom! Rick had the right attitude, work ethic and price. You can't beat that! I will be using Rick as often as he can be spared for all of my household projects. <br />

I used Rick to replace a rotten porch with composite decking and railing, they also replaced the post on my house with PVC board which looks like painted wood, everything turned out great, there were some rotten joyst under the old floor as expected which Rick pointed out to me and everything was replaced, the job even came in a few hrs less then estimated, and a receipt was provided for all materials purchased . I look forward to working with Rick in the future. <br />
