Mark and Rick finished our roof in one weekend. It was our first time having a steel roof and we're so happy we made the decision to go with Riverside. I had a concern a few weeks after the roof was put on and Rick made it out in a timely matter and fixed the issue.

Rick and his crew resided my home and my garage. They were professional, hard working, and paid attention to detail. They were knowledgeable and skilled. I would highly recommend.

I needed my deck stained and boards replaced and Riverside did a fantastic job! I'm so happy with the outcome and they were able to finish just in time before summer so we could enjoy our outdoor space.

Rick and his crew showed up to give us our bid on renovating our whole house. They were very honest and upfront with all repairs that need to be made and how much it would cost. They quoted us for 4 months of work and we're able to get it done in just over 3! We are so happy with their work and professionalism. Everything turned out looking great and better than I hoped for. We even had them add a few things to the job, and they got it done no questions asked. I'd hire them back for any work I need done cause I know they will get it done right!

We never did get our bathroom tub and surround replaced as he never contacted us again after finally finishing the ceiling in our kitchen last August. About the ceiling, he was very nice and gave us a very basic quote saying he could do the things we wanted back in May 2017. He said he would be able to get to our items in a few weeks but it wasn't until August we had someone come out. He said it would take a few days to finish but actually took a month. They said they would come every day until it was finished. That didn't work out at all. They had to turn off the power in the kitchen which included the lights and dishwasher etc. so we had to go without for that entire month. When we needed to use the dishwasher we needed to turn the power on then off again after. It was pretty frustrating working in a dirty dusty kitchen for a month when it was supposed to take a few days especially when there would be days going by when no one worked on the ceiling.

Rick took my money and barely ever showed up. 6 months into a whole house remodel he has painted two ceilings and installed a few cabinets. His attitude is unprofessional and he is nearly impossible to work with. It's easier to get my kids to clean their rooms than to get him to do the work he has been paid for.

There were many issues after we signed to have Rick Bottolfson and Riverside Homes work with us on this project. We were quoted 3 weeks to complete the job, with work to start on May 8th. As of Oct. 24th we are still waiting for Rick to come out and correct the flashing which did not pass the final inspection on 9/29/17. We had his word that if we paid him his final third that he'd be out promptly to correct anything that didn't pass. He was a no show on the days he said he'd be out and is now not returning our calls. Our issues include window sizes being ordered incorrectly, we discussed having 4 HVAC vents in the room and they only ran 1. We were very clear when we sat down with Rick that our new hardwood floor needed to be covered & protected. Unfortunately that didn't happen. We now have sheetrock dust ground into the wood grain that can’t be removed. We spent countless hours cleaning inside and outside our home. We discussed this repeatedly with Rick & his subcontractors but they ignored our requests to put up sheeting and to pick up the construction waste from our yard. We noticed that the attention to detail and workmanship also began to decline as the project dragged on. Several items such as, there is a 1”-2”gap for the full 16” length between where the cedar tongue & groove boards covering the underside of the addition met one side of the siding that allowed insects to nest in the insulation. The exterior window trim was cut 1” short and so they stuck a small piece of wood in the gap to fill. Several pieces of siding were not nailed to the house at all. We could see where they didn’t apply enough joint compound when they taped the ceiling through the knocked down texture and this had to be redone. The flashing over the windows and where the addition met the deck was missing or inadequate and therefore did not pass final inspection. Rick also attempted to bill us a 7% finance charge that he claimed Lampert’s Lumber was billing him for because a payment was made late. I requested our final Lampert’s materials bill on July 18th and got no response from Rick. On July 27th when I arrived home from work after 5 pm, Rick left an invoice on the kitchen table stating that it needed to be paid the next day or we would be charged! I offered to call the lumber yard and give them a credit card number and Rick said that they would not be paid until he received his final third, which is why we ended up paying him before the final inspection. Rick told us that he'd waive the 7% finance charge and complete the work needed to pass inspection “if I didn't leave a review”. Unfortunately Rick, Riverside Construction did not honor our agreement and we will need to hire someone to complete the work so that we can close the building permit. Because Rick did not honor our agreement and to protect people who might contract with Riverside in future we decided to leave this review.
