Everything went fine with them.

The next day and almost 2 hours late Ron, the owner & laborer showed up to do the job. It took a couple of hours to perform. The next morning I went down to find my basement had flooded once again. Turns out the new pump for the HVAC condensation pump was not installed correctly. He assured me it was corrected and left. Meanwhile they had cut the out take pipe outside at the house level and left it as is & said to “call when the line had thawed to fix.” Once I confirmed the line was thawed, I called Ron to let him know. He said he would be out the next day. No show. The next day would work better. Again, he was a no show. The third day I asked when he could come back to fix the out take pipe he’d cut & he replied “whatever he does from this point on would be additional cost to me.” I understood the pipe would be repaired afterward as part of the cost I had already paid in full. Figuring I had to fix it immediately or risk serious damage to my yard, I called the KY department of plumbing to find out what the codes were for repairing the water coming from the house from the sump pump. Since I had already been admonished by Ron about a code violation, I wanted to make sure however I fixed this issue, it was within legal codes. I explained my situation and sent pictures of the work that was done and was told “there was no code violation with HVAC units & condensation lines running into sump pump wells.” The actual new work he had done however WAS as it turns out a huge federal violation. This could have “seriously hurt me & my family.” The attachment was not vented (serious federal violation) and had been secured with one piece of duct tape. The dept of plumbing made him come back & put everything back as it was. Ron did replace the check valve and pinhole leak in pvc pipe. I did ask RL Plumbing for half my money back as reimbursement For lying & shoddy work. This nEver happened. Ron lied and took advantage of a single female widow who was recently lost her job. I tried to reason with him but he only yelled and screamed at me for contacting the KY dept of plumbing. I’m glad I did & I suggest when in doubt of any service, call and simply ask. The duct tape was a dead give away. I say stay far away from RL Plumbing. Angie’s list should seriously re-evaluate referring this company as recommended contractor. They are dishonest & I will no longer use Angie’s list from this point on if this is the level of “reliable and quality home contractors they refer home owners to for repairs.” He could have caused serious damage.

Took 3 trips to fix leak. Said Jefferson County would contact to inspect water heater after install, never did. Likely didn't pull permit. Was rather rude and unprofessional, would not hire again.
