TERRIBLE!! He was prompt in calling and coming over to "assess" the problem, he required money up front to "pay for parts" and then never returned. We had MULTIPLE scheduled times for which he was a no-show; this took time from our work schedules requiring us to be home to wait for him when he didn't show. He wouldn't let us know that he was going to be a no-show, either...once the time window ended and we contracted him, sometimes he wouldn't even answer! This went on for about 3 weeks, we finally contacted another repair person, we bought the required parts (for the second time, since we paid for them with RNT but he never returned) and got the dishwasher fixed. He apparently has this as a practice, per reviews on the BBB website and we did find where he has been sought for civil action in the courts as well. He will be prompt with your initial call, he will provide an estimated cost for parts, take your money and never come back. He plays on honest people who have appliance issues after-hours. We would give him an F- if that was a possible grade. It's easier and quicker to flush your money down the toilet than call this guy. All told, we were out $300 (he was supposed to fix something minor on our refrigerator too). We have filed with the BBB complaint dept and will be filing with small claims court too if we don't get money back from him within 7 days.

The owner came and diagnosed the problem with my freezer. I had to pay up front before he would order the parts. I did not hear back from him so called to see if the parts were in. They were and he made an appointment for the next day to complete the repair. He was a no show for that appointment and another that he made for the day after that. It has been over a week and I still have not heard from him. Read similar reviews On Better Business Bureau

He arrived at his appointed time. He immediately started trying to sell me a service contract. Finally he looked at the freezer and said it needed a timer and thermostat but that parts had to be paid before they could be ordered. Unfortunately I wrote him a check. After not hearing from him for a month I called 3 times before my call was returned. Installation appointment was made for the following day. I waited for 4 hours but he never showed. I texted him and he said he was busy but could be here by noon the next day. Five days later I still haven't heard from him. I am out nearly $400 and have nothing to show for it. Check the Better business Bureau website. His rating with them is F

Ryan McCarley with RNT came out on 4/3/17 to inspect my washing machine. He explained that he looked over the entire washer, all of the major parts (bearing, motor, etc) and said it looked to be in good condition. He said that there was an issue with the rubber "boot", and that replacing it should fix the issue. He also explained that he could do a PM service on both the washer and dryer. I agreed to the washing machine repair, and the PM service of the washing machine. He agreed to do a basic check/cleaning of the dryer for free if I gave him a good rating on Home Advisor, which of course, I agreed to. He said parts and labor for the washing machine repair and PM service was $363.30. I paid him up front, which I never do, because he seemed like an honest professional. It took a little over a week for him to return to do the repair. He replaced the "boot", performed the PM service of the washer, and said that we should be in good shape. That night, my wife used the washing machine with a light load as Ryan had suggested, and black smoke and that same burnt rubber smell started coming out of it. I called Ryan, and told him that the repair he performed did not work, and that I needed him to return and make this right. He returned a few days later, looked at the washer, and said that it must be that the bearing was loose. He explained that he tightened the screws around the bearing, and said that should do the trick. I was extremely skeptical that tightening a few screws was going to fix what seemed to be a much more serious issue with the washer. I told Ryan that, if he really believed that our washer was fixed, that I would trust him and try to use it again. But, that if the same or any other issues occurred, that I was going to ask for a refund. He said "yeah, I mean, whatever...I'm doing my best here, but yeah that's fine." As soon as Ryan left, I started the washer with a very light load in it. The washer began making a very loud noise, the burnt rubber smell started again, and then I heard a loud snap and the washer stopped working completely. I immediately texted Ryan, explained what happened, and asked him to contact me to discuss how we were going to resolve this issue. He responded within an hour, and said "I'm going to have another technician and myself come out there tomorrow." I responded with a thank you, and made arrangements to be off work the next day. The next morning, I got a text from Ryan saying, "If I come out today and find out it needs parts or another repair, it's going to cost more money....there will be no refund for a repair that's already been made." I was VERY bothered by that "there will be no refund" comment, but responded back for him to please just come out and complete the repair. I waited all day, and he never showed. I texted him several times, and his response was always, "I'm trying to get to it, I'll let you know." So, I lost a day of work for nothing. I continued to try and reach him to schedule a time for him and his other technician to come out, and his response was "Sorry, I'm just booked up." After a week of me asking him when he would come out and complete the repair he started (and a full month of being without a washing machine), he sent me a long text saying. "Sorry I haven't been in contact just go a lot going on. You have already gotten the service you paid for, so stop saying that. I'm booked solid, and can't get out there until next week." He went on to say that it sounded like the bearing was shot (the bearing he said he checked and looked fine) and that he did not think a repair that would cost $1000+ would be what I wanted. I was VERY ANGRY at his "stop saying that" comment. I explained that I could not believe that he had the audacity to say that to me, after I paid him almost $400 upfront to fix my washing machine, and it's still broken. I said that an ATTEMPTED fix is not the same as fixing something. I paid him to fix my washing machine, and he did not do that. I just wanted my money back, and that would be the end of it. His response was "you paid me to change the boot which was bad and PM the washer, and I did the job I was paid for." I responded by saying, "You replaced a part that was damaged by the root problem, and told me that the washing machine was fixed! You didn't fix the root problem, and THAT is what you lead me to believe you were fixing! If your car is leaking gasoline, and you take it to get it repaired and the mechanic fills it back up with gas and says "you should be good", does that fix the leak?" He refused to discuss it or meet with me to arrange a refund. I have filed a formal complaint with the Better Business Bureau, and have contacted my lawyer to do my best to ensure that Ryan McCarley does not do this to anyone else ever again.

Called Ryan on Monday, and he had to order a new coil. We were very impressed with Ryan. Although he is very young, Ryan is experienced, responsible, curious and cleaned up the work area. All in all, we were very pleased with Ryan. If and when we have another problem with an appliance, we will not hesitate to call Ryan. Thank you Ryan! CDN and NJN

Came right away to diagnosis my broken dishwasher. After 5 minutes he told me it was my timer, looked up how much a new timer would be and took my full payment and left. Told me he would come as soon as the part came back. I had to call him back and ask him to come back but he wanted me wait another week because he was very busy. After insisting he come right away like he initially stated he did. He installed the new timer and turned on the dishwasher and left but did not wait to see if that problem was fixed. It wasn't fixed! Called him back within 10 min and he said he would come back when he was in the area. Now it has been two weeks and I am still stuck with a broken dishwasher and down $152.26. Do not call him to repair your appliances. Crook

Ryan proved himself to be knowledgeable and trustworthy from the very beginning. I called several people to get quotes and explained the problem over the phone. He quoted me for his service call and told me what he thought the problem might be based on my description, but also explained and I understood that he could not make a diagnosis over the phone. It did turn out to be what he originally suspected and since it involved my ice maker, which was no emergency, he gave me the choice to pay a higher price for the part that was available at a local parts store and get it repaired right away or to shop around for a cheaper price for the part, which might take a few extra days. I chose the cheaper price and I appreciated him giving me that option. His labor fee was a set price, which was very fair and he disclosed to me up front. I believe a person should be well compensated for a job well done. Ryan does a good job and I will definitely hire him again whenever we need maintenance or repair work for our appliances. If you need someone who is knowledgeable and trustworthy, call Ryan at 1-662-403-8856.
