It did not go well. 1. Tore off roof and then the workers who could not speak English nor did they have foreman check on work at end of day failed to tarp appropriately and storm of July 7-8th came that night and tap ripped off and caused extensive damage. 2. Although they have insurance and offered to come in and repair inside, they caused more damage inside in not getting movers to move stuff or tarp that and stuff damaged from construction. THey did come inside but they did not send in crew but two people that did roof and did not know how to do inside construction either. I provided list of damages they did to outside and inside of house but they kept saying I was lying when we had proof and pictures and wet walls and water pouring in from attic to 2nd floor all the way to first. 3. We suffered trauma and had to keep calling to get someone to help and then left water in walls, tried to just “cover’ things and not really fix which caused more delays and trouble. We were out of our home for 4 weeks and then many months now of clean up and still our house is not what it was. When tried to work this out they just threatened to sue. 4. The contract says until client satisfied but it is all talk and appearance. They looked very professional in first two meetings but after that not much follow up or professionalism. In fact the manager of company called and harassed me and called me names and accused me of lies and did not act in a professional manner. Then he told the owner it was me and the owner did nothing about this and is the man who is basically calling the shots at the company. If you want personal care, someone who speaks English and someone who will hear concerns and really take care of your home then do not go with them. It does not matter that they have 30+ years of good “reputation” . It matters what the management is doing TODAY/NOW. Do not be fooled by outer appearances. I highly recommend you don’t look at outward appearances or past reputations as it cost our family much. We were able to get $5000 off contract price and some insurance $ but really has not made it right with what we suffered. The personal interactions and professionalism went out window when trouble came and then allow we heard is attacks on our character instead of caring what we went through. My son’s ceiling collapsed over his bed because of this job.

Doing business with this company was a wonderful experience. Dustin was very punctual, courteous and knowledgeable on his initial consultation. The entire job was above my expectations including cleanup and not to mention the fair price. I would highly recommend.

They got back to me right away and promised a quote before the end of the week (tomorrow). The other two contractors did not return the request. No quote on Friday? Monday - still waiting for a quote. Got the quote and the work got done quickly.

Roofing project for 24 squares, complete tear-off, GAF Timberline (architectural) shingles, ridge vents, synthetic felt, Ice & H2O barrier 66" wide & chimney counter flashing. Getting an estimate has become very difficult recently. There is a greater chance of success if the contractor has an office staffed by a secretary. Unlike some contractors, who are no-shows & no-calls; or if they do show up, are unapologetic about being 40 minutes late; Sean (estimator/project coordinator), was punctual. The emailed proposal arrived in 1 day. Sean was open to suggestions in clarifying proposal details. There was no fussing about accepting the Angie's List coupon. He was methodical in his explanation about the materials to be installed & the GAF System Plus Warranty, which is more extensive than the basic coverage. Sean promptly replied to questions & accurately estimated the wait time to the start date (2.5 months) & project duration (a little over 3 days). No down payment was required upon proposal acceptance, which is a good sign of a well run business. Another reassuring sign was the 10 year workmanship warranty. Sean emailed the certificates of liability & Worker's Compensation in a timely fashion. Dustin & his crew of 6 were personable & polite. Work began at 7:15 a.m. & ended at dusk. Cleanup was good with tarp protection of the shrubs. When an outdoor light bulb was damaged, the crew member took responsibility for it & offered a replacement. Given the crew's honesty & industry, I reciprocated with a few tips about saving for retirement. Warranty registration & a copy of the GAF Weather Stopper System Plus warranty arrived 1 week after project completion. Jenni did all the warranty paperwork.

Sean offered an estimate within 1 week of contacting the office. Asking price was very reasonable. Repair completed 1 day after the acceptance of the estimate. Justin's craftsmanship was very good. Without being asked, he secured loose nails in adjacent areas. Excellent experience with both men.

Work quality, price and professionalism was good. However, I had to wait over 10 weeks for them to show up. I'm sure that was a combination of rainy weather and workload.

Layman Construction was very professional. Appreciated meeting with Robert after he visited and assessed our needs to discuss options. Work was completed quickly and our property was kept clean and safe during the week or so it took to complete the job. Our roof, although the house is not large, has many peaks and valleys including a large stone chimney, making the job a less than straight forward.Compared 3 other contractors before deciding on Layman. Layman offered the best value given their reputation and experience. Very happy with our new roof! The Layman team was great to work with!

Excellent. Roof replacement. Work was done on time. They removed the old roof tiles and replaced with new asphalt tile roof system. They replaced the bad underlying plywood as needed and made sure all work was professional. Clean up was done daily to ensure a neat environment. The end result was a well installed roof. I would recommend them to all.

<p>The work performed was excellent. They had to replace rotted roof deck boards and fascia. They covered the newly installed fascia with new aluminum, along with repairing siding that was not in the original contract "at no extra charge". All aspects of a new roof were installed such as, new OSB sheathing over entire house, 36" of storm guard barrier, 2" drip edge, new pipe vent boots, ridge cap shingles over the new ridge vent, cleaned and re-attached the gutters, cleaned the yard and area every day. Robert Laman Construction did a very professional job.at no extra charge"</p> <br />

"This is not correct! The estimate was submitted in July and contract, which clearly states that prices are good for 30 days, was signed in October. the member was told about price increases on roofing products and plywood at that time. The price increase was only 6% NOT 10% as she stated, and was due to increases in material ONLY. The roof job itself was not done until January per the member. Lastly, the job was done in 2013 and the member is sending in this review over a year and a half later? We Pride ourselves to be honest and to do quality work and that, we did! We have no control over our suppliers raising their prices we just try to plan for it, but in 2012 there were at least 3 price increases on all petroleum products and plywood prices sky rocketed. Were sorry for any inconvenience this may have cost the member."

He came in a timely manner and performed original roof replacement as expected, but needed to return to replace facia for A-frame front of roof. He gave a highly professional presentation of options, costs, materials and nature of service. The workers cleaned the property during and after the work. One dip in the roof could (possibly) have been repaired differently. Work is guaranteed. <br />

We had several roof replaced during some of the hottest weather of the past summer. We had one main roof as well as four smaller roofs, The work included tear off and replacement using architectural style shingles. The work also included replacing the upper part of our chimney. <br /> All the work was done very well...it looks great and there have been no subsequent problems. The only problem was with the leaving of some of the old torn off roof and nails in our gutters, but they came right back and cleaned up when we called. <br /> We had called several other contractors for estimates and Laman's was the lowest estimate that we received. <br /> We would call Robert Laman Jr. Construction if we have any jobs planned for the future. <br /> <br /> <br />

We will get in touch with you when the work is completed. <br /> They called a few days before they were to begin work. Six workers showed up on a Mon. AM and began taking off the old roofing <br /> and throwing it in a dumpster. They kept the debris contained around the house on tarp sheets. By the end of the first day of work. theshingles and supplies had been delivered and the rear portion of the roof had been newly shingled. They did a complete cleanup all around the house and departed about 6:00 PM. They arrived early the next day and continued their work byexamining things in the attic to make sure about conditions of the underside of the roof and especially around the chimney area. They had to replace some of the plywood in that area. The second day was handled by two workers and they completed all work by about midday the second day including cleanup and removal of all debris and the dumpster from the driveway. We were very pleased with the work and the sharp appearance of the whole job. They added a charge on the bill for replacing the plywood,but they had alerted us about this prior to our signing the contract so it was not a surprise. They really did a good job and we would recommend them. <br />

when I purshased my house, I needed a new roof and it was in bad shape I had two layers all ready on, so they had to total tear off both layers, they were very polite and very reasonable,I all so needed a few sheets of under layment, which added more cost but was told up front of how much more it would cost, they got the job done in two days and the guys were very nice and helpful when I had questions to ask, and they didn't leave my yard a mess they cleaned up every thing, I would recommend to do any body, and I would use them again. <br />

Very professional job. The roof had been replaced a few years back by some less than professional installers and started leaking within a year. Laman's installers pointed out some obvious defects which caused the leaks and assured us that we would not have any future leaks when they got done with it. Based on the finished product, my wife and I have no doubts. Each step in the process was done meticulously and in true teamwork fashion. <br /> As an added note, my wife and I were very impressed with the whole Laman crew. They worked tirelessly from the time they arrived in the morning until they left in the late afternoon. Each of them was friendly, courteous, well-spoken, and a fine testimony to the <br /> Laman organiztion. <br /> This is one of several remodeling projects Rob Laman has done for us at both our residence and a rental dwelling. Based on our level of satisfaction, we would not think of going with anyone else. <br />
