Team arrived early and worked hard all day to finish up by the end of the day. Left site clean and job looks great. Rob even fixed a piece of rotting wood on the side of the house while they were there. 3 years later no issues.

This is a revision of my review dated 10/05/16 which we gave Robert Roofing a glowing review... Yesterday afternoon I noticed my ceiling had water stains above, below the skylights and at the top of the wall below the skylights. These skylights were put in just over a year ago. My husband called Robert Roofing which states on Angie's List that he is insured and stands by his work...so we thought. Robert called last night and said he would be by today. My husband stayed home from work, no Robert. My husband telephoned him, Robert called back and said would have to go through our insurance, it was caused by ice dams. He didn't even bother to come look at it. The skylights are on the sunny side of the house, we had no visible ice dams or ice buildup. When we said we are getting rain tomorrow, he said it shouldn't happen again. So we don’t know if there’s damage to the roof but definitely a damaged interior. Why should we have to go through our insurance without him coming to inspect his work? Update, paid by our insurance and we had to pay the $1000.00 deductible. Roof repaired, interior ceiling and walls had to be painted. Our insurance has contacted his for reimbursement but who knows how long that will take to get reimbursed. So in closing I would not recommend Robert Roofing and Gutters for anything.

Robert Roofing provided the work within a couple of weeks of the estimate be done. The skylights look great. Also his price was approx. 25% less than other estimates we had had done by other companies. We would definitely recommend Robert Roofing and Gutters.

Robert installed new gutters on my house that never had any. He was quick to respond and show up. Gave me a very reasonable quote. I got 4 quotes for the job and his was the best value overall. He knew what he was talking about and did a great job. We've had several storms since the install and the gutters work exactly as they should. Easy to work with and very professional. Best price of all the quotes I received too.

I did the roof two years ago. He did wonderful job in the beginning giving the quotation and all that very well. And when he was doing the job it was really good, but there were a couple of problems we discovered later on and he was not good in apologies for any of them.

lI bought this Angie's list special deal, when I called the company they told me that Robert Roofing would be working on my Street on another job later that month (Fall 2014, I think) and that they would call me to make something work while they were in the area. I did not hear from them, but saw the truck further down my street a few weeks later so I went over to talk to them and during a lunch break the owner or project manager came to look at the house informally. He said that the next day he would have a ladder and more time to check things out and would give me a better idea and quote for what might be necessary (roof was nearly 20 years old but with no active issues). I never saw or heard from them again and there were no follow up calls either. What a waste of $100.
It did not go well. He came out and was here for 10 minutes. He didn’t do anything and didn’t know anything about the deal. I asked him to send the pictures that he had taken but never did.

He showed up when he said he would and fixed the original leak. Now that the leak is back I can't get a hold of him to fix it.

It worked out fine and I will call them again to do more work. He came on time, was efficient, neat and he cleaned up after himself. He made sure I was satisfied with the job before I get paid. The price was reasonable.

Amid a succession of winter storms in 2015 that produced the heaviest month of snowfall on record, my roof formed massive ice dams and icicles that forced water under shingles and into my walls. Roofers were in such demand that most were unavailable during the worst of it, including Robert Roofing. I used another roofer to clear some of the ice where I couldn't reach and between them and my own flailing away at thick ice formation, I wound up with physical damage to the exterior roof materials that contributed to further leakage and impaired drainage. I triaged the issues and waited until I thought I could get some attention from a highly touted service provider like Robert Roofing for a permanent fix.
I called Robbie on Friday March 13th, mid-day, and left a detailed voice message. Robbie called me back within a couple hours. I explained a bit more and he offered to come by for an inspection of the damage the following morning. Robbie arrived with one assistant mid-morning on Saturday March 14th. He scaled my second story roof and took note of various damages caused by me and a previous roofer to shingles, underlayment and gutters. He recommended replacement of said materials stretching ten feet up from the eves, all across the length of the roof; probably 350 sq ft. With short notice and a potential holiday interference approaching (Tues March 17, St Patrick's Day - big in the Boston area), he committed to a one-day job within the following week. He quoted me a price, in writing, before leaving my home and I agreed to terms on the spot. Robbie came across as friendly, knowledgeable and accommodating. Within a couple days, Robbie confirmed a Wednesday morning arrival.
Between 7am and 8am on Wednesday March 18th, Robbie and his crew of two assistants arrived. It was below freezing and very windy. We discussed the plan before I drove to my office for the day:
Remove all shingles within the target area (10 feet up from eves, across entire roof)
Remove existing (torn) ice and water barrier
Remove entire L-shape run of gutter along edge of 2nd story roof
Inspect for unseen damage to roof deck
Install new ice and water barrier (6 feet of it, replacing the original 3 feet)
Install new shingles (color matched as well as possible, given 7 years of sun fading on my existing roof)
Install new run of gutter (a thicker aluminum, upgrading what I had)
Clean up
Robbie was confident he would be finished by around noontime and I believe this held true. The work was complete before I arrived home that afternoon and the result looked very well done. I paid Robbie the amount originally estimated and looked forward to the next rainy day test.
In the weeks that followed the work described above I have been mostly pleased with the work done by Robert Roofing. Foremost, I have no water issues on the roof or in the gutters. My only issue is with the prep/cleanup facet of the job. As the snow has melted away, I have found a trashbag-full of debris including full shingles, long strips of water shield, empty shingle bags, metal flashing, quite a lot of partial shingle/underlayment and roofing nails in my front, side and back yard as well as my neighbor's yard. As I said, it was a windy day and I've no doubt much of these items were flying around uncontrollably. But, I expect that to be part of the job and a thorough scouring of the yard was not apparent. Given the snow cover of the time, I know the standard magnetic nail roller was not possible. I hope not to find any loose nails the hard way this spring. I also had several snapped branches from shrubs below the work area, indicating no protective measures were taken in that regard.
In summary, I am happy with the value and recommend Robert Roofing. In spite of the gripes, I would rather engage a roofer who aces the roofing and communication elements as Robbie did. Prep and cleanup are important, but secondary. Bottom line is the work I could not do, Robbie did very well. As his truck says, "One call brings a roofer, not a salesman." That implies a good experience, which Robbie capably delivers.
Response from Robert Roofing & Gutters
"i usually ask the customer to call me once the snow melts so I can clean a lot better. sorry about that."

Robert Roofing and Gutters did an excellent job! My husband and I had a leak in the living room of our home and decided we would give Angie's List a try. After reading through the reviews, we decided on Robert Roofing. We contacted them, and fortunately, they were able to come out the next day! The owner was very upfront about the costs and they did not charge us a penny over what was quoted. They replaced our shingles - they look great and no leaks! Comments: professional, prompt and courteous. Would recommend.

Robbie was great. The gutters were in desperate need of attention. Robbie and his crew did a great job cleaning and repairing the gutters. They also installed gutter screen as there are many trees around the house and gutters were cluttered with leaves. All of the work was done at a very reasonable price.

This a downgrade because of lack of response from service provider for issues occuring with gutter screens. Spoke with Robert on 6/1/15 about gutter screen falling off again (fell off first time in May after first installation in April). This time he stated its because of the tree and wind from storm. Stated he would fix but hung up quickly without saying when. Now another part of the screen around the house is coming up; don't understand how this is tacked down. I've called him repeatedly and left messages with no response from him. Left messages for him on 6/8, 6/15, and 6/19 with no reponses. I even had someone else call on my behalf, yet still no response.

When my ice-filled gutters crashed to the ground, along with what looked like soffit vents and some of the supporting structure, I turned to Angie's List to find a contractor. Left a voice mail, which was immediately returned. Robert came out that day to look things over (while I was at work) and emailed me an estimate. He removed the considerable debris on a Sunday morning and did the repair work the next day (Monday). Arrived on time, when promised. Very responsive, very professional. I would recommend Robert Roofing.

He was great; he was easy to work with, upfront, no hidden costs. He was not a sales man and knew his stuff and his team seemed to know their stuff. They did a pretty good job on clean up.

We actually found Robert through some friends of ours who used his services and recommended him. Robert was very professional. He responded to my inquiries promptly, was very courteous and performed the job start to finish exactly as he said he would. We did not have to wait very long for him to do our job, which was a windfall for us, since our roof was leaking in a few places. One thing I was upset about, was the way in which he hung the tarps to cover the plantings around the house. They were just drapped down from the roof with no support underneath to keep them off of the plantings. There was some minor damage which could have been avoided with the use of some 2x8 planks to keep the tarps off of the plantings. Robert was on site each day they were there. Great job at a great price.
I'd highly recommend working with Robbie and his team. They did a great job on the condo roof, gutters and flashing. He had a bit of a hard time getting our roof started due to a stretch or rain but he kept me up to date and let me know when they aimed to start the project.

They were here for about 4 days and picked up each day at the end of the day to ensure there weren't nails and other materials around that might be in our way. Robbie checked in with me at the start of the job, mid way and then at the end of the job to ensure that all of the specs of our roofing project was as expected.

They also had the best price for such a large job as well. I was very happy working with Robert Roofing and I'd certainly work with them again.

After reviewing estimates from three companies, we decided on Roberts Roofing. Robby was very personable all throughout the process, answering all our questions and offering advise on several aspects of the job. He was responsive to our calls and gave us a reasonable time frame to start the job (which turned out to be somewhat optimistic, but I suspect that can be said of most every contractor). Since we did not need the job done right away, our timing was flexible, and we were happy with the scheduling. The crew showed up around 7am each day and worked steadily all day long, breaking only for lunch. Robby was on site working the roof with the crew every day. They seemed to have a very coordinated approach and completed the job in the time frame quoted. They did a nice job cleaning up the yard after the job was done, and the roof looks great! We would certainly recommend Roberts Roofing and Gutters for any project.
