Russ and his crew did an outstanding job. The rock retaining walls are exactly what we wanted and the yard was re-contoured and landscaped for erosion control. Very good crew, fast and very courteous. We were lucky to have the work done at the beginning of summer. Overall one of the smoothest job we had had done. Highly recommend them for anything that needs extra attention to detail.

Russ, the owner of the company met us right away. He was very dedicated to his work, he gave us a quote within 20 mins and although he was hired another it's been my experience to get what you pay for. The crew was on time, professional and courteous. The works was left clean at the end of each day and only took 3 days as quoted. The owner kept me updated with photos throughout the entire project. When they were finish, they grated the yard to shed surface water away from the foundation. It's too late in the season for top soil and hydro seed so i'll be hiring them again next season. I don't get a chance to write many reviews but it was a pleasant experience I would recommend Rock landscaping to anyone.

amazing. russ and his crew is amazing and thorough and honest. always upfront and professional and will never cut corners. also russ knows his limits and will be the first to admit this. the best contractor i have ever dealt with anywhere in the united states! i also had a 24 by 24 garage built and a fence for my dogs and they leveled a shed and cabin on my property and built a wood shed

My experience with Rock Excavating was great! I had met with two Contractors previously for an estimate and they never even called me back. I met with Rock Landscaping and he assured me He could help me with my earthquake damaged hill that my house sits on as well as my driveway that was allowing water from the street to pool up against my foundation. The owner gave me updates on the progress of the job and didn't waste a minute getting in and saving my home from falling off the side of a forty foot hill! Re-sloped my driveway too, so now my foundation is not taking on a ton of water. The owner sensed the urgency in my Contractor needs and jumped right into action. I highly recommend Rock Landscaping!

Rock Landscaping did an amazing job Landscaping at our new home. My wife and I moved to Wasilla after 41 years in Anchorage and we let Russ (owner) of Rock Construction design and recommend materials for our project. We spent $23,000. 2 years after the Borough sent us a certified letter stating we were in violation as the rock that bordered our property was encroaching on Borough easement.
7 feet (20 cubic yards) will need to be removed before first snowfall or the Borough will send their crew out to remove the rock, at our expense. The Borough stared that the contractor should have been aware of the Borough regulations. We approached Russ (owner) Rock Landscaping to assist in removing the rock. We have a neighbor that will take the rock, 1200 feet from our house. We even offered to hire and pay for his equipment and labor. We were told that there was no way he could get to it this year.
My wife and I are at the age that removing the rock on our own is impossible. We have tried and unsuccessfully found any company available to assist.
If you are considering using Rock Landscaping we recommend you make sure your project meets Borough regulation and obtain a permit prior to proceeding.
We will not use or recommend Rock Landscaping because of the owners unwillingness to take any responsibility or assist us in moving the rock. This company lacks customer service.

"I am sorry this is happened to you you told me you took a drive and in one hour found 72 of the same Rock placed the same way yours was you told me your builder had not file for a driveway permit and that is why the borough was out there I am not a landscape architect or do I do landscape design you told me what you wanted I gave you a price you sad to do the job and you were very happy when it was completed and paid me and Full."

Russ and his team did a great job reconstructing our 3-tiered rock wall garden. Not only did they stay within budget but they finished the project earlier than expected! Alex and his team worked hard and did an amazing job. We are beyond pleased and would definitely recommend their services.

Russ and his crew did a great job under the added pressure of getting important parts of the project done before freeze-up. I also increased the scope of the project as we got into it and Russ was very responsive and worked with me and had great suggestions about how to most cost-effectively accomplish the additional work. Russ has lots of experience and knows what he is doing and the quality of the work is the best I've ever seen. I look forward to working with Russ on several projects in 2019.

They do amazing work. They actually use big boulder rocks. They set them in the ground to make a flat surface on one side. They are just amazing at what they do. Their rock stairs are so easy to navigate. I would like to give them an A+ if possible.

Rock Landscaping did a great job with my backyard. I am very impressed with the well-built retaining walls, new rock paver walkways, fire pit, and new lawn! Russ helped work with my requests and was available and engaged whenever I had questions. His workers were especially professional and do very good work. I'm looking forward to having Rock Landscaping help me with the work I need done at my cabin next summer.

I got the estimate and they started work 3 days later. Their estimate is 4000.00 less than the other two. They did'nt hesitate to expand the scope of work when new problems were found. The crew was very meticulous and profesional and perfectionist.

I wasn't sure exactly what I was looking for when I initially contacted Russ but after meeting with him and discussing everything he gave me a great price on a project that ended up transforming the look and feel of my property. Throughout the project he maintained good communication and despite the fact that I requested some last minute changes he was extremely accomodating. The entire crew was professional and exhibited great craftsmanship.

The final product simply is too nice. Now we have to improve the house to match the new landscaping and driveway. Russ proved to be an excellent, responsive contractor. I’ve zero complaints with his services and commend his rock wall construction crew for their skills and artistry.
