We have had Rock 'N' Earth. The experience was fine. We chose them mainly because of their concept. They worked with us quite well and they were easy to get along with. They did a great job and they did it in a timely manner. I will have them back to do more work but that is a couple of months away or more. They do a log of rock work so Rock 'N' Earth makes sense. They also do plantings and things. In order to keep the price down a little bit I did some of it myself. I would like to say that the price could be cheaper but it was probably fair.

Everything appeared satisfactory at the time of installation. I was told before the work started that Nathan would make sure that the drainage from the back yard to the front would be properly done.

About 8 months later, another contractor finished the yard by leveling and assuring that the water flow

around the pavers was proper. This was after his foreman tried to contact Rock N Earth for consultation. No response was ever received from Rock N Earth so the work was completed by the new contractor.

I never received a followup call or visit from Nathan.

It now appears as if there is some settling of the pavers.

I contacted Rock'N'Earth last year and spoke to the owner Nathan regarding our landscaping needs. Dealing with Nathan and his team has truly been a pleasure.
I initially met with Nathan and over the course of a month we worked out all of the details of the design and plan of action. I had very little idea of what I wanted, which ended up being a good thing since Nathan truly has a creative gift when it comes to design. He was able to come up with a unique design that fit my taste and our property perfectly.
Scotty was the foreman in charge of getting the job done. The project began and ended within a week of their estimated start and finish dates. The workers showed up on time and remained respectful to my husband and I through the whole process. They also touched base with me each time they moved on to a new step of the project.
What impressed me most was the immediate response from Nathan or Scotty any time I had a question or concern about the project and that with very few exception the foreman was always onsite or checking in before end of day to make sure that work was completed up to their standard.
We are currently using them again to landscape around some new buildings and expand on their previous work. I definitely recommend them to others. Especially anyone looking for a unique design and to revamp their current space.
He does good work, but I didn't think they had good follow up. They also left me with a big incline off the edge on the tiles onto dirt. I also called to have him do more work but he didn't get back with me. I had to have someone fill it in and another contractor told me they should have done that when they completed the job.

Jeff Davidson showed up several days early unannounced and said he was in the neighborhood. He wanted to leave a man to check my system and I said ok. The man replaced several joints or at least left broken ones on the ground. He left without telling me.
Jeff had told me much of the job remained to be done and I probably had leaks but he never showed up again. I called him three times and everytime he said he would be there the following Monday but he never showed up again. He asked me not to call the owner but I finally did and found he was also not available. It is now the end of August and I have been without a functioning irrigation system all summer. Mr. Hanna's answering service says he will be back in town 9/4. I have never received a bill from Rock'n'Earth, but I got a huge bill from the local water utility after this despite my system being turned off.

On 9/5 Davidson showed up to finish the job as the result of my calling his boss against his instructions. They dug up my irrigation pipes & chopped down plants--they never reburied the tubing nor removed the large plants they chopped down in my backyard although that was the agreement. They hacked a large Rosemary bush in front "looking for the connection." The Rosemary is now an eyesore and was not hacked and wacked by anyone with any pruning skills or even training. He came to my door at eleven and presented me with a bill for $450 for what included replacing 4 plastic t-connectors and as near as I could estimate 8-10 man hours. I have mobility problems and did not check the backyard before paying him which I should have done. I was upset about my Rosemary which was ruined. ( I would suggest that anyone hiring someone billing himself as a landscaper be required to prune a plant in front of you before hiring. My ex was an expert in this area and as far as I can tell lfrom several trys landscapers in Arizona hire unskilled labor and set them to work with a weed wacker--totally unprofessional and with no concern for the health or beauty of the plant.) He wanted to come back in November to remove the leaves from 3 trees and trim my remaining plants for $750. My neighbors tell me I can get this done in the neigborhood for under a $100 & I would never let these people touch another of my plants.

It was great. They paid attention to details, kept me informed on what was going on. Did a great job on drainage and revamped the sprinkler system which had been installed (not well) only a few months before for the front yard. The pattern I picked for pavers resulted in a lot of cutting to get the edges lined up and they did it perfectly. I made a couple of requests during the project and they handled it with no problems. Got everything I asked for and the yard looks awesome! The crew worked very hard and it was clear they wanted to do it right! I'd use them again without reservation. And some neighbors saw my results and are getting estimates.
Very well satisfied. Had received a less expensive bid, but decided to go with Rock N Earth because of their knowledge and recommendations from others. Started on job when they said they would. Kept on it until job was finished.
Nathan and his crew did outstanding work. Showed up on time, worked long hours and completed the job in under three weeks. They also installed conduit for future electrical, and laid a drain line from the downspouts on the upper level which runs into a drainage channel where a future water feature will be installed. In addition, they spread some left over gravel and leveled an area where we intend to build a barn/workshop. All of our friends and neighbors tell us the finished project is beautiful and esthetically pleasing.
Rock N Earth showed up when they said they would, the job looked even better than we thought it would, and it was finished when Nathan Hanna told us it would be finished. We have enjoyed the outdoor space Nathan created for us. It was a pleasure doing business with them.
The job took three weeks to complete. Everything went as planned. We made some changes to the design to fill in certain spots. Added an extra tree and a few more boulders. We placed four perennial flower beds in the backyard, but for the most part, our landscape design is high desert.

, My initial meeting and using them 3 years ago was a recommendation from someone at work-I live in High Desert and my yard was a free for all mess(because I have no fence or wall)-I had a few trees, lots of overgrown cactus, and a yard full of rocks and un-workable earth. My vision was for a "Southwest Zen" type of environment. I could not afford to do the entire yard-the back dips down to an access road-so, we focused on the front & side yard(keeping in mind I have no fence-so, lots of critters)-They put in two beautiful Desert Willows, cleaned up my Palo Verde & Chitalpe Tree, put decomposed granite throughout and created a peaceful, beautiful yard space. This year I needed things to be "touched up". My trees badly needed trimming,I had a few things that needed transplanting, we needed a bit of a makeover. This may sound weird but I had a dead Mesquite tree(attacked by Holly) that I did not want to cut down because this tree has the most beautiful shape and Nathan totally "got that" so, I wanted him to clean off all the dead extensions so, the shape of the tree was left because I wanted to turn it into a "prayer tree"--they did and awesome job. They work hard and have a lot of integrity.

I had recently purchased a home that had rock landscaping in the front and back yards, with only a few shrubs and an ugly planter in the back yard. It lacked appeal and functionality. We are not very good at landscape design, so we relied heavily on Nathan's expertise to guide us. He had great ideas.

He was able to reuse a lot of the rock and blocks in other areas of the yard, which helped to keep the cost down. He removed 'all' of the rock from the backyard, re-graded both front and back, selected great trees and shrubs, laid beautiful flagstone, enhanced our automated watering system, rebuilt a decorative retaining wall and replaced our entire drainage system as it was inadequate.

After a heavy rain, we noticed a low spot in the rear yard. Nathan promptly sent a crew to fix the issue.

His crew is the best and I would recommend Rock N Earth to everyone.

They came when they said and worked as they had promised. They were not the lowest-cost bid, by a good margin, but they seemed to understand the often-tricky issues with runoff water here. Their solution to our problem seemed the most thoughtful of the bids we got. They promised to stand behind their work. We won't really test the results until the next big rain, of course. So far, we think we made the right choice. We're keeping their card.

The slope next to my driveway was washing dirt onto the concrete. Nick not only built a retaining wall to keep that from happening, he cleaned the driveway to remove the dirt that was already there. He used the fill from the project, rather than charging me for extra dirt, and engineered the wall so that water will filter through gravel, making the new flattened area suitable for planting. He did a great job and I'm already planning on having him back for another project I have in mind.

I bought an older home that needed a lot of work, but I'm on a tight budget. Nathan came up with a design that I could afford, and it turned out better than I could've imagined. The job was started on-time, completed on-time, and they did a meticulous, clean job. Everyone on the crew was professional and polite. Several neighbors have dropped by to tell me how great the new landscape looks (one even said it's the best the house has looked in 22 years!) and my friends and family were amazed by the "after." We were so happy with the results, my mom and grandparents decided to have their yards re-landscaped by Rock'n'Earth! They did an awesome job, and I highly recommend them.
