It didn't. Signed contract and took $12,000 deposit. Did not do any work at all. Keeps making excuses for when my deposit will be returned; contract was canceled on 8/30/22! Today is 10/1/22 Updated 10/12/2022 I do not know who Beverly Jefferies is but Charles Anthony Chappel, supposedly of Chappel Funeral Homes (another of his businesses ???) is the only person I have dealt with and HE reported himself as the owner of this company. The house sits on .25 acre not 1 acre as Jefferies stated, and they did cut the grass and clear debris which was an add on that was not requested by myself but instead Charles Anthony volunteered to do at no charge to get the job. They are also doing business under the name Blessed Hands. They are scam artists. It is true I initially wrote a check for $3500.00 and Charles Anthony deposited that check on the same day I provided it to him. At midnight, I transferred funds into my checking account to cover this check but it had already been presented. It therefore, did not clear. I immediately advised Charles of this. e did not even know the check did not clear. Charles Anthony met up with me and I issued to him a second check in the amount of $12,000.00 which he deposited via ATM that night and it cleared the next day. If I owe anything for the first check it would only be a return fee if charged by his bank. However, although he never performed the initial service for which that $3500.00 check represented, he attempted to extort from me another $3500.00 check stating his account was overdrawn by that amount. HIs own bank person, Joe, whom he instructed I contact and for whom he provided the phone number, stated the only way his account could be overdrawn for the same amount was if he immediately withdrew or transferred that amount out at the same time as the deposit. Charles Anthony told me himself that he did in fact transfer money to a different account. But he expects me to cover the overdraft anyway. The bank told him he needed to re-deposit the funds he transferred out to make the account current and that my check could not make his account overdrawn by any more than the return check fee amount - usually $35.00. But as a scammer I guess they assumed I'd just give them another $3500.00 when I had already made good on $12,000.00. If they had actually repaired the brick or concrete, then it would be true that I owed them anything. But they did not complete an iota of the work indicated on two separate contracts. One contract for brick/concrete work and the second for renovating the home. Rocksolid Concrete and Blessed Hands Concrete are two fraudulent companies and ANGI needs to do a heck of alot better job with their screening. Now where am I lying? I have RECEIPTS. I will pursue to the full extent of the law and beyond.
Response from Rocksolid Concrete
"First of all in response to her bad review, which should not have happen . She wrote a bad check for us, that we can prove had insufficient funds. , we did not start any masonry work but clean whole acre of land and trees, debris and removed all debris. I talk to this lady, and talk to her 3 different occasions that she need to correct her bad check in order for us to continue doing work at her property. I Beverly Jeffries owner of Rocksolid Concrete being a 5 star rated concrete contractor Will never put myself in jeopardy of loosing my rating because of someone trying to get work for nothing. We can proof through our bank in Raleigh, [Member Information Removed] that [Member Name Removed] did in fact wrote a insufficient check for the amount in question. We will reach out to her one more time to see if she will correct her insufficient check and we will be willing to continue the work. If she complies."

Everything went well. He and his guys did everything in a timely manner. The job was really neat and clean. He came to clear it out and I would say that it rained but he did come back to finish everything.
