The subcontractor always needed something including tools and I ended up paying $7000.00 more than the deal coupon because I wanted nicer tile and flooring. The subcontractor would arrive about 10 am and then decide what he was going to do that day and then go off to Home Depot in Broomall (about 4 miles away) and come back 2 hours later. He spent a lot of time on the phone and left work to his helper(s) who were learning how to put up tile, etc. but did not supervise them. Consequently the shower and wall tile was not done properly and stuck out in various places. The subcontractor kept telling me that as soon as it was grouted, it would be fine but I began to grow concerned.
Also this job that had been promised to be completed in 3 weeks (started early in February 2014) was still not finished and it was April. Some of this was due to bad winter weather that year and the fact that the subcontractor had to plow snow. Several times he had go to his son's school. The subcontractor was also repairing little things around the house and charging me separately for them which was OK but it was taking time from the bathroom work.
Finally we had a rainstorm and there was a big leak in the kitchen ceiling causing the ceiling panel to sag badly. The subcontractor charged me $60.00 for a tarp to cover where he said the rain was coming in and causing the leak.
He wanted to fix the leak and charge me several hundred dollars to fix the ceiling. The rose-colored glasses fell off my face and I called another contractor#2 who was going to renovate the kitchen and asked him to come over. He came soon after and told me that he was 95% sure that the leak was coming from the bathroom and I should call the insurance company. I got permission from the insurance company to take down the ceiling tile and early next morning contractor #2 did so and discovered that the leak was coming from the bathroom not the outside and was caused by the original subcontractor.
I called Mr. Rovase and he did not arrive for 3 hours. He dismissed his subcontractor and said that they would fix the leak for free but since I was having the kitchen renovated when the bathroom was finished that seemed useless.
To bring this to a conclusion, I had paid Mr. Rovase (through his subcontractor) $450.00 to redo the dining room ceiling and I told him that I wanted that money refunded. I then told him that if he paid me $1200.00 to cover the insurance deductible and some other money I had paid out to the subcontractor, I would not give him any review on Angie's List. He paid the $450.00 and about $200.00 more and then the repayment stopped more than a year ago.
This is why I have waited hoping he would pay me back but he has not.
By the way, I was able to get enough money for contractor #2 to redo the bathroom completely. The subcontractor has put in the bathtub without securing it properly and when the contractor #2 was standing in the tub (as I would have been taking a shower) to remove the tiles, the bathtub fell and completely detached from the caulking. The contractor#2 had to completely gut the bathroom down to the studs again to get at the leak. However he had the bathroom usable in 5 workdays and completely finished in 7 workdays. He was kind enough to not charge me the deductible that the insurance company would not pay. The insurance company tried for a year to recoup their costs and get me back my deductible but Mr. Rovase did not actually have insurance although he had showed my his policy.
Yes, I learned a valuable lesson. I will never buy a coupon for a large renovation on Angie's list.
They were awesome! Arrived on time, did all the work agreed upon and then some, were very neat and clean in the process and a little bonus was that they were all very nice and polite. Great price as well. Would hire again.

The assistant, Mike, was excellent, very helpful, did a LOT of the work. 2 people for 4 hrs. Got a lot of gardening tips from Mike. Main garden looked lot better after they were through. Hate to say it but it seemed like the other man was on his smartphone a lot.

Angies List special $279 which was last year. Rovase head, Robert, prompt at emailing and honored the plan although it had expired almost a year ago!

Don't really know what is a good price for landscaping. Will do more research next time.

Overall very happy with their work.

I had to sue him in court to get some of my money back in the bucks county court system July 2015. Went I went to court i supplied pictures along with the contract. The judge agreed that the contractor committed fraud for not exposing that he was in bankruptcy prior to signing the contract. I won the case and haven't heard from him since. He is dishonest and can't be trusted. This individual is in bankruptcy and doesn't honor his work. Ask for all licenses and verify all credentials. The contractor status should be idle while addressing the bankruptcy issue. BEWARE BEWARE BEWARE
They were very terrible. I had to get someone else to do what they were supposed to do. Their price was cheap and that's the reason I went with them. I wouldn't recommend them to any body. Their quality level was nowhere compaired to the company that I use now.

.Provider services were purchased May 15 as a special offer for 40 hours worth of landscape services. He contacted us in a reasonable amount of time to make an appointment to come and review work to be done. However, he did not keep the appointment. When we called him he said he had come. However, it turned out that he went to the wrong house. Rather than read the house numbers, he saw a house on our street that was being rebuilt after a fire and just assumed that was the house. He kept repeateing that he came, and we had to keep saying that he came to the wrong house. When he did keep the second appointment, he was more focused on the rebuilt house on the street asking us what were they planning to do, the great landscaping ideas he had for that house, etc. We had to keep bringing him back to our work. We explained what we wanted, and he kept trying to do additional work. We said that after he completed the work we wanted done we would then meet with him and discuss additional work , estimates, etc. and plan based on our budget. However, he still kept pushing to do additional work. Finally a start date and time were established. He said he would come with 4 additional men to work one 8 hour day with the 5 men for the total of 40 hours. They were to work 8:00 - 4:30 with a 1/2 hour lunch and he gave us a June date.. At 8:00, no one was here. At 8:05, 1 man pulled up and at in his truck and waited. Finally, 3 other men and the provider came. At about 8:20, I happened to notice the provider again at the rebuilt house knocking on doors, looking in windows and walking around that house. I wondered why he was there rather than working on our house as he was supposed to be doing. After getting no response to his knocking at the other house, he got in his truck and left and did not return that day, leaving only 4 men to do our job rather than the promised 5. The men who worked took more that a 1/2 hour lunch and left before 4:30. They did not pull out anything as had been agreed and just used a weed wacker to cut down weeds. When I looked out the window several times during the day, there rarely was all 4 working. It would be 1 or 2 or 3 working with the rest watching. When they left, we assumed they would be back the next day since we did not get 40 hours of work and the job was not completed. However, no one came. When we called, he acknowledged that he still owed us work and set up a date in July. On that date, there was some rain, but not all day. He did not come nor call us. He also did not return a call from us. We left for vacation and then had other illness etc., in August, so did not try contacting him further. Then in early September, I saw him at the rebuilt house speaking to the son about doing work there. I went out to ask him when he was going to finish our work, and he came over to speak with me and then said he would come back and set up a time to do the remaining work. When he came back, he said he owed us about 5 hours. We explained that 4 men working les than 8 hours each was more than 5 hours that we were owed, and we agreed on 10 hours. He again kept trying to push for more work, and we kept telling him that we just wanted the hours that we were owed. We explained that we had lost confidence in his service and were not happy with it, and just wanted him to complete the unfinished job. Despite this, he kept pushing for additional work. A date and time to complete the job was set up, However, he did not show up. After waiting nearly 1 hour, we called him and he said that his truck broke down on I95 and he did not have our number to call us. He came later to drop off tools and told my husband he would be back the next day and left. When my husband told me, I reminded him we would not be home then and that I did not trust him to give us the full 10 hours or that he would start doing some of the work that he kept pushing for. So we called him to reschedule. He said he would come pick up his tool and then call us to set up a date, which he did do. He came today with 2 other men and worked for 3 hours (a total of 9 hours). Our entire experience with him has not been good at all, and we would not use him again or recommend him to anyone.
After a little hiccup at the begining, the job was completed and looked great. The Rovase team was very polite, and did a great cleanup job on completion.

They owed us an hour but they never came back. I called them but they never called me back. They did good- I liked what they did but it was just not enough work for the coupon-so they said they would come back. I wasn't here but I guess the workers were fine. They were punctual and did everything that my husband asked them.

The provider never came to inspect the work site to get an accurate quote. No quote was prepared in writing just texting. Bob was unable to get soil delivered on multiple times and one time actually had a crew standing around and finally had to send them home. He finally got the topsoil delivered and found it was not enough after I told him it wasn't enough. That is when Bob finally came out to the house. Poor professionalism. Poor organization. Poor execution. He inevitably under quoted and ultimately I had to put him out of his misery and release him. I did pay him for the work that was done. No more.

First, the two supposedly experienced employees were not even close to being experienced at cutting pavers. The two employees acted as though they had never even laid pavers. The one individual actually told me he thought he was doing a painting job and didn't realize he was going to be working with pavers until he showed up on the job site. Further, the two continuously cut and destroyed pavers to the point that Matt from GreenWorks and I pulled both employees from cutting. However, the two employees were not pulled before one employee pounded on the front of my terrace wall steps with a claw hammer. Supposedly he was trying to break off the face of the block to fit the pavers. Unfortunately, this is not how you accomplish the job and it sounds simple enough that you cut the paver to fit vs. smashing the face of the terrace wall step. Lastly and the most concerning is that I allowed the employees to enter my basement to use the restroom and later found one employee decided to enter the living area of my house on the above floor. He had two different stories of why he decided to go into my house and neither made sense. I later identified the reason when I found $350 in cash missing from my Wife and I's secretary desk. I immediately called the owner and had him pick up his employees. When I explained the situation the owner had nothing to say but did offer me a discount. However, the discount was actually more than what the hourly rate itself should have been. I guess I see that sort of culture in the company is the norm. I paid reluctantly and now regret that I even paid. I'm now continuously worried that the employee is going to come back and break into my house. I would not recommend this company to my worst enemy. Please consult someone other than Rovase Associates.

He was a nice guy, and the pergola looks great. BUT he overestimated how much lumber I'd need so now I have $700 worth of lumber sitting in my garage going to waste. The pergola sways a little bit in the wind and he recommended adding more columns for another $900. He was already way over the original estimate. The screws holding he columns to the concrete are only halfway screwed in so I'm getting that redone. After everything was done, I paid him over $5000 and he still hasnt sent me a receipt. I wouldn't use this company again.

The worker was on time and prepared. Very friendly and knowledgeable. I felt very safe with the person doing my job. He took down a drywall wall and removed all dirt and trash. I have only had the same person doing my projects from this company. I only spoke to the owner a couple of times, he was very personable but mostly communicated with his forman on the job.
