Mike, Marc and their crew were great. They came on time and completed the job in 3 days. They cleaned up everyday. They did a really good job with the concrete and they paid attention to details to make sure everything looked perfect. They also took the time to answer any questions that I had. I would recommend them to my family and friends.

Excellent. A crew of 3 worked from 7AM to 6:30PM. Removed the old concrete, did all work as explained in the estimate and cleaned up the work area before leaving, all in the same day. We were very happy with the workmanship and would definitely recommend them to our friends.

Mike was great to work with. He provided a detailed proposal for the work, and was very understanding when we needed to delay the project. The crew did a great job, and made sure everything was cleaned up afterwards. I highly recommend using Widdoes for concrete work.

Best decision I could have made. I researched and contacted several companies for this job. R.S. Widdoes was competitively priced, extremely responsive, professional, and performed high-quality work. And they were kind: my young children watched their every move, fascinated, from inside our garage, and instead of being irritated, the crew could not have been kinder. How many stars can I give? I am extremely satisfied with the work and this company. From the initial contact to the final clean-up and later sealing it was quality work done with high level of craftsmanship, attention to detail, and professionalism. They worked to my specifications on shaping some curved sections and even suggested that a small landing step I had requested was not necessary. They were correct. Glad i trusted their judgement. A four man crew was on time (early) on each day, and worked through two if the most brutal days of the summer in intense sunlight with heat index near or over 100. At the end they cleaned so it looked as if they had not been there-except for an attractive new addition. The crew itself was great-answered my questions, thought about my suggestions, explained all steps in the process. The concrete used is high quality-4000 psi in compressive strength, 5 in and 4 in thickness (area specific) and rebar and wire mesh reinforced on a 5-8 in bed of compacted stone. Having wet the new pad over several days it is pitched perfectly for water run-off. Working with contractors is not always easy. This was a pleasure. I expect to enjoy the benefits of new area for many years. Their non cracking guarantee is great. A quality company that I highly recommend.

I would highly recommend R.S. Widdoes & Son. Dealing with Michael Widdoes was a pleasure. He is extremely straightforward, professional and clearly passionate about his work. He and his team take a lot of pride in their high quality work and take the time to get it right. Our path circles around a tree and that was done perfectly. I don't think that anyone is ever excited about investing in concrete work but, when this work was done, I was really excited to see the outcome!

WHAT A GREAT COMPANY AND REALLY NICE PEOPLE! Mark, Michael and Jake did the work and they were a pleasure to have working at our home. The concrete was close to our house, the fencing and the stairs to our deck. If you've ever poured concrete, the cement splashes as it's being dumped into the forms. As they were working, they were constantly cleaning up to protect our house. They did all the work in one day and were cleaned up an gone by around 5pm, they came back the following morning for a couple hours to place top soil and seed around the edge of the walk. They obviously know what they are doing, they are very professional and made it clear they cared about our satisfaction. We will use R.S. Widdoes again in the future.

They did beautiful work. They broke up and removed the old landing, sidewalk and a rusted wrought iron railing. New foundation was laid then fresh, new cement. All the lines are straight, even and perfect.

My project was scheduled to be done on February 20. During demolition of the walkway, Michael Widdoes and his crew unexpectedly discovered a water main leak (likely present for some time), which had created a sinkhole underneath my walkway. My job was interrupted so that the city could come in that day and fix the 2" water main that runs parallel to the public sidewalk. The good news is that the leak was identified and repaired, the public sidewalk was replaced by the city, and my walkway was able to be completed today, by Widdoes. Michael, Mark and Jake did a great job. They did exactly what was stated in the proposal, were done in under a day, and as soon as the new grass grows in, my property will look better than it has for the last 18 months. I appreciate the hard work, skill, and attention to detail these men bring to the worksite - what most of us take for granted. I would absolutely recommend R.S. Widdoes & Son, Inc..

They are very easy to work with. By far the most detailed estimate I have ever had. They explain everything as they go so you know exactly what to expect at all times. The quality of workmanship is first rate, and cleanup is very meticulous. Anything damaged by equipment such as lawn or sidewalk blocks is covered at no expense to the customer. They went not the cheapest but I did feel I got my monies worth. Yes I would use them again.

Mark and crew were true to the estimate they performed everything in a very professional manner. The response was timely and attention to detail was excellent. Mr. Rick Widdeoes provided a very detailed estimate including every piece of material right down to the type, location and how the reinforcing material was to be used, all measured sections and much more! Although they were not the lowest priced estimate I received for the work, this was one of the most detailed estimates from a contractor I ever received. Further, their foreman Mark and crew personally explained how each segment of the job was done. I had at no time any worries that the monies paid was not well spent. They went the extra mile to do separate pourings of concrete so the job wouldn't be rushed and quality sacrificed. They repaired my yard where equipment had be used, and they put in the contract that they fix at their expense and damage that may occur as a result of heavy equipment they utilize. The finished job is very well done and looks grate. I would use them again and recommend them highly.

They did a FABULOUS job! My original thought was to black top the driveway, but because of Widdoes' Angies List rating I asked them for an estimate for concrete. Not only did they share candid pros and cons of both options (even though Widdoes does not do blacktop), but they provided suggestions to get the most out of the job. For example, they suggested widening the driveway 6-8 inches on each side to meet the corners of the house. And they suggested I replace the step (so that it satisfied the codes regarding height). And once I decided to replace the step to address the code requirements and so it matched the surrounding driveway, I also opted to increase the depth a bit more so that it provided a larger area for footing for my aging parents. And while discussing the step, Widdoes advised that they could replace the aging/breaking masonry around my front porch. <br /> They arrived when they said they would, they used quality materials, they cleaned up EVERY DAY before they left, and they wrapped up in roughly 5 days. The final product looks amazing, and made my 30+ year old house look brand new. In fact, my neighbor (who watched them every day when they were removing and pouring my new driveway) was so impressed with the workmanship that he had his driveway and sidewalk replaced by them, too. <br /> The ONLY improvement I could suggest is different seed. When Widdoes finished my job, and that of my neighbors, they backfilled, graded and seeded the disrupted areas. We found the seed to be more weeds than grass when if finally came in, but I just bought a bag of quality seed and used it the areas. <br /> I would strongly urge you to at least consider this company for your project. <br />

<p>Our project went extremely well. During the estimate, Mr. Widdose sought to understand our expectations and explained everything that needed to be done (and why) so we had a full understanding of what to expect. Mr. Widdose (Rick) had no issues with providing requested info regarding licensing and insurance. This was very important to us as some of the contractors we contacted could not do so. He also provided a detailed estimate; his work was true to the estimate. They arrived to do the job when he said they would. All old concrete was removed and replaced. This included the front stoop, landing and sidewalk. They also replaced our garage floor and rear patio - installing the drainage pipes underneath it. They were very respectful of our property as well as our neighbor's. They disposed of all removed materials and topsoiled, graded, and seeded all disturbed areas. Rick and his crew were professional in every way - punctual and respectful. Their work ethic and skills were topnotch. He also educated us in the proper care of the new concrete to ensure years of durability. Although the highest bid we received, I would use them again and recommend them highly.</p> <br />

They really know their stuff regarding concrete. I had a couple of estimates from other contractors and they just talked in very general terms about how they would do the job. Widdoes was very specific in everything they were going to do and explaining why that was the best way to do it. They cost a little more than other contractors, but I have confidence in the quality of their work.
