We hired Mark Ruffner to remodel our second floor bathroom in our 1933 home. The work he did was high quality, the price reasonable and the communication was very good. Mark always showed up when he said he would and once the job started kept it moving along to completion.

We added a bedroom and a bathroom in our basement, and my wife and I were absolutely thrilled with the work that Mark and his crew did. The bedroom and the bathroom both look amazing, and Mark was an absolute pleasure to work with. Everything was easy with him all the way from the initial discussions to finishing the project. Mark and his team redid our existing bathroom and added a half bath to our home. He provided a very detailed quote and gave us his expertise when creating plans. The bathrooms turned out beautifully! They fit the house perfectly and meet all our functional needs. Mark and his team were excellent communicators during the process and helped answer all our questions as well as accommodated some changes we made during the process. The team was detail oriented and easy to work with. We absolutely recommend them!

Mark with Ruffner Remodeling was wonderful to work with. Redoing the bathroom in my St. Louis Park home was something I planned for a long time. I had quotes and in-home consultations with three different contractors. I was comfortable with Mark immediately. During the entire process he was upfront, straightforward, flexible and kind. The entire bathroom was gutted and redone with the exception of keeping the old tub. The window was also removed and a new (different size and spot) window was flawlessly installed. Mark gave detail to my exact hopes for the end look. It’s been about a year since the bathroom was completed and I couldn’t be more pleased. The fixtures, flooring, and tile all turned out exactly as I hoped. Mark (& Matt) were wonderful to work with and have in my home during the summer remodel, it’s definitely worth you time to consider Mark for your next project!

We needed a partial bathroom remodel to prepare a home for sale. We probably met with six contractors – most of whom never even bothered to provide an estimate. Mark provided an estimate, a realistic timeline for completion, and made suggestions that ultimately saved us money. Matt, who did most of the work, kept in regular communication throughout the project, was experienced, professional, and personable. The project finished on time and on budget.

We could not have been happier with our choice to hire Mark. He is very responsive, met with us on several occasions before the project, and is very transparent about costs. There were no delays with or project and no surprises along the way, which great for us as first time home owners. Mark listened to our input and helped steer us in the right direction with certain matters that we knew nothing about. Matt, his co-worker and tiler, was just the same way. No issues or delays in getting permits and approval from the city. Both the electrician and plumber on his team did a great job as well. Couldn't recommend the whole team enough.

Mark was professional from the initial bid to the completion of the bathroom. He was available, even after hours, for a text or phone call and made sure to reach out with any issues or additional costs. We elected to purchase all of the hardware relating to the remodel and were not as timely as we should have been. Mark worked with the subs and made sure everything got completed as early as possible due to the delay in receiving those items. I have two dogs and Mark did a great job of getting to know them and advising me of when a sub-contractor was coming in and whether or not it would be ok to leave the dogs at the house during the day. Overall, I have had a great experience with Mark. He is a trustworthy and reliable contractor. Shortly after our bathroom remodel we engaged Mark to complete our basement, which he is currently undertaking.

We were immensely pleased with Mark and his crew, and the work they did was of extremely high quality. We needed a remodel of our bathroom in our 1930s south Minneapolis house, and they offered the best bid for what was clear to us would be the highest level of professional services available at our price point. We also were instantly set as ease by his professional but personable demeanor and general all-around nice-guy personality. Since we have only one bathroom in the house with three people (including a six-year old), we were concerned about the length of time it would take to complete the job, but Mark and his crew did everything possible to expedite the process without compromising quality -- including making sure we were without a toilet for only one day, which was quite a feat given the extent of the work being done. Mark had great suggestions for our needs and his team came up with consistently creative solutions. His choice of assisting tradespeople was top-notch -- not only did they do outstanding work, but we even enjoyed getting to know them as they worked because he clearly surrounds himself with decent people. He was always easily accessible and super responsive for answering the many questions that come along with this type of project. Finally, the end result was beautiful. The tiling job was exceptional, especially given the quirks of working with 80-year-old surrounding walls that have settled into all manner of non-plumb angles. He didn't stop until things were up to the highest level of quality and we were totally satisfied. We would, and likely will, work with Mark and his team again. He's a great guy who does great work.

I hired Mark for a complete remodel of my basement after a flood. Mark was easy to communicate with and always responded immediately. Things ran right on schedule and everything was kept clean. He was willing to reuse materials where possible to keep costs down. Other than the drywaller, subcontractors were excellent and easy to work with as well. Very happy with the finished work. I would recommend Mark to anyone.

Although the kitchen remodel took longer than we hoped, we were very satisfied with the outcome. The delays were beyond Mark's control and he attempted to address them and resolve them promptly. One was for a door that was defective and another was due to his usual plumber being overbooked. Some of our favorite things about working with Mark were his willingness to incorporate design ideas we had and be flexible about meeting us outside of usual business hours, on Saturdays, early mornings or evenings. We really wanted to use some barn wood from a grandparents' barn for shelving. He worked with a colleague of his to make metal brackets that would hold the heavier wood and the items we were hoping to display there. They were really beautiful, in contrast to the other more delicate design features. We loved the connection to our roots and how they made the space feel personal. Some of our favorite subcontractors that Mark worked with were the tile professionals and painters. They were not only very skilled in their craft, but also very personable and thoughtful about being in our space. We look forward to using Mark again, on perhaps a smaller project. :)

We did a complete bathroom remodel of a small bathroom, with tile going all the way to the ceiling, and replacing bathtub with shower. It was a pleasure to work with Mark and his tile guy Matt from start to finish. Both are very meticulous and honest. As my wife said when she saw the finished bathroom, it is "100% perfect." We plan to hire Mark again when we redo our kitchen. He is a real find.

Great. The bathroom turned out fantastic. Mark was easy to communicate with and always had that "can do" attitude. I had a picture in my head of what I wanted and Mark was able to translate it into a finished bathroom right down to a custom vanity. Mark asked my opinion on every step of the way like which direction I would like the tile to run, where the soap, towel hangers or insets should be placed. The bathroom was on our main floor and after the work day things were always cleaned up so that we were able to live in the space without the product encroaching into our living space.
