They gave me a contract which I did not check, so they were not able to start the project on my preferred date. I would not use them again.

Responsiveness was prompt before the sale and an attractive design was proposed for both kitchen and bathroom. After a down payment was provided, service dropped off considerably. The quality of the work was mostly good, but seemed to vary among the work crew. Some areas had to be redone when workmanship was below par. Promises were made before the sale that were not honored afterwards. Any future customers should insist that any promises made should be put in writing using the same description as the promise. Otherwise, they should just assume it was never offered. All purchases for items used in project were purchased through the contractor with fixed allowances without ever seeing an itemized bill. Costs that exceeded the allowance were assessed as an up charge. Costs that may have been under the allowances were never used to offset the up charge, as far as I could tell.

Never completed the job, would not talk to us after signing and has his secretary in his office field calls and not say anything. I still don't understand why someone would work for him, knowing what he does to his customers.

The work was excellent. I like the final outcome. You need to find out if he's overextended or how many jobs he's involved in at the time. We started the project in May and it should have taken six to eight weeks and we just finished it at the end of September. There were some glitches along the way that were probably out of his control, but a lot of it was more that he was overextended. The quality was good. I would maybe use them in the future. The work was good, but we would really have to negotiate what was going on and the time window and stuff like that. We wouldn't do this again. I would consider it.

I used an Angie's List deal for design consultation with Ruxton, and the meeting went really well, and the owner, Frank Zeberlein, who is also an architect, came up with plans a couple of weeks later to redesign the first floor (later, we would increase the scope to include the upstairs bathrooms and master closet). Frank reworked plans upon request, and he did so various times. He was really nice and professional throughout the whole process and was doing his best to meet our needs and concerns. His pricing was awesome, so it was hard to turn down his attractive offer. Ultimately, I chose another firm, however, because I felt their design plans were a bitter fit for me (not to say he doesn't have good design ideas that would please many people). However, I could tell he was really very knowledgeable and experienced in his field, as he could tell me in our older home where the original homeowners had put the stove, this entryway used to be a bay window, etc.; it all made sense why our house looked the way it did. I saw this big album of past work he had done in other homes, including kitchens that turned out beautifully. I gave this company a "B," since we didn't go with them in the end, but my experience with Frank was overall very pleasant.

Took our money, did a terrible job and filed bankruptcy long before completion. Started new company called ardent home improvement.

I had Ardent come out to look at my very dated kitchen. I wanted a new kitchen but didn't know if I could afford it or what I could do with the space. The refrigerator was in an awkward place and was very dysfunctional. They took measurements and did two different design plans that included converting a pantry that a barely used into a new home for the refrigerator and and a tall pantry cabinet. I went with that design and them. They started roughly 3 weeks later and wrapped the kitchen up in under two weeks. They also at no charge installed a new granite top in my powder room that is next to the kitchen and painted my entire dining room all for FREE! These guys are terrific and my experience was great. In a day when most times as a consumer you are treated like a number they treated me like family. The workers were all very nice and polite. It was just a very good experience and I love my new kitchen and so do my neighbors!

I got a recommendation from a family member when I decided to redue my kitchen. I got other estimates as well but they came back with the beat deal for the price. The design was beyond what I expected and was very creative. I picked out almost all my finishes in their showroom. They were very courteous of my home when the work was being done. The work was completed in the estimated time I was given. My kitchen turned out beautifully and I wI'll definitely be using them agsin for any other future improvements.

I have been using these guys for years. They have redesigned and remodeled my kitchen and other projects throughout my home. Their ideas for my home are always very creative and work well. They most recently redesigned and remodeled my bathroom and it turned out amazing. As always the project went smoothly from the start. I met with them at my home and they took measurements and we discussed ideas. I then went to their showroom to review the designs, yes designs they gave me more than one option. This was very helpful as it's hard for me to envision things on my own. I decided to go with the second option which involved removing a wall and expanding the bathroom. I worked with them to pick out my tile, cabinets and granite right there after seeing the designs. It was very convenient. The job started about three weeks later, right when they promised and wrapped up earlier than expected. It turned out fantastic and I couldn't be happier. I strongly recommend these guys to anyone looking to have their kitchen, bath or anything else remodeled.

Poorly, is an understatement! Ruxton has not returned last two email messages in last two weeks made in June 2017. Signed contract in August 2016. It is June 27, 2017 and master bathroom project is not complete. We have found recent information showing Ruxton involved in bankruptcy filings. We have obtained the services on an attorney to assist us in finalizing this nightmare. Contract signed August 2016 with 30% deposit made. Work began January 3, 2017, demolition completed January 6, 2017 and another 30% paid. Weeks would go by with no additional work being done. Cabinets delivered and another 30% paid.... after 90% paid, no completion of tile shower or delivery of sink, tub, toilet, counter tops and lights at that time. In May 2017, 5 months after project physically started, 9 months after contract signed, $2,500 + tub not delivered and installed....no information from Ruxton indicating estimated completion. Our home (Master Bedroom & Bathroom) was in construction mode from January 3, 2017 through end of May 2017. Bedroom & bathroom constantly covered in drywall dust and paint splatter. Our master bedroom closet was used as contractor's staging location including paint mixing, grout & drywall materials, wood shavings, etc. Carpet had to be replaced by contractor, Granite sink was cracked while being installed and had to be replaced. Wrong bathroom sinks were delivered. Our kitchen sink was used to clean paint brushes / rollers resulting in our having to clean sink and granite counter tops. Wrong shower door was delivered and had to be reordered. Pipes to shower split and water damage was incurred including basement ceiling tiles destroyed and coffee table sustained water damage. Materials (light fixtures, toilet, tub) ordered and delayed due to "manufacture" / "distributor" delays. We contacted light manufacturer / distributor after being told of delays and were told material would be delivered in 2-3 days by manufacturer / distributor. When Ruxton was confronted with this information, light fixtures were delivered shortly thereafter. Subcontractors indicated they were not being paid. We did not discuss this issue with Ruxton. Would recommend all future customers require a lien waiver from Ruxton. Contract did not contain a specified start and completion date. This was a huge mistake on our part! We contacted Angie's list for assistance....and were told we needed to write a report. Here is the report. We will provide update as to what help we receive from Angie's list. We have a paid subscription with Angie's list. This has been a horrible experience.

They have been excellent to work with. Frank Zeberlein is a consummate professional who knows his business and ensures that only high quality work is completed and delivered. The kitchen is now a showcase! The guest bathroom is absolutely beautiful. They helped solve my water and mold problem in the basement family room with innovation and professionalism. And the exterior door they just installed is magnificent. I found their work to be so good I just contracted with them to completely renovate my master bathroom and totally reconfigure an adjoining closet.

I used Ruxton Design and Build to remodel my condo kitchen and breakfast nook. During the initial appointment I went over what I was looking to have done and the possible color schemes that I wanted to include. The design was very nice and there even included a bench seating area made out of cabinets for my breakfast nook. It was a great utilization of space. I picked out my cabinets and most of my selections from the showroom, including my backsplash tile, flooring, handles, and knobs. It made things very easy. The team was very easy to work with and answered all my questions. I was able to get everything I wanted within my budget. I would highly recommend Ruxton Design and Build and plan to use them again for my bathroom remodels.

Everyone that came to our home to work were very well mannered. They also cleaned up after themselves the whole time they were working! I was shocked with the quality of work/ attitude/ cleanliness.. Everything went super smooth. If an issue came up. Frank was right there to fix it! Although I hate talking price. I did shop around and the price we got from Ruxton Design and Build was a great value compared to others! Not to mention we got so much more! Franks ideas were priceless! He definitely stood out from all of the other contractors that we spoke with! I cannot recommend a better person/business. We will definitely be using him again! We are still amazed! Very well. At first I was confused about the color and they were very patient in helping get what I was ultimately happy with. They were very polite. Also I did notice they were very conscience about cleaning up after they were installed.

OMG it is stunning!! probably the prettiest room in my home!! The owner came once again.. Very prompt and professional. Designed a shower that is 7ft long by 3ft wide with a granite bench! A rain shower and jets! The toilet is raised as well as the sink .. I absolutely love my Bathroom!! Very professional,clean! Thank you once again!!

I had a kitchen that really needed updating. I called Ruxton and they came right out. Frank put together a new design. My kitchen is setup in a way that we were pretty much stuck with the existing footprints but we made adjustments that gave me a little more workspace. I picked out my cabinets, tile, & counters at their showroom in Cockeysville. The job started in October and finished right before Thanksgiving. We were able to enjoy the kitchen for the holidays. The process went very well from start to finish and I would definitely hire them again. We are planning to do our bathroom soon.

Ruxton design was so easy to work with. They worked around our schedule, gave us ideas we hadn't even thought of and was very courteous, polite and professional. They finished within the timeframe they originally stated, they left our home clean of debris and dust each day and did a wonderful job. We would cal on them again and will recommend them to anyone. They did whatever they could within the time of day we were comfortable, worked late hours and came in throughout the day as they could and the job was finished and is beautiful. Would definitely recommend they to anyone.

My husband and I were looking to sell the home that we raised our children in. We had been there for almost 20 years. The house had taken some abuse over the years and needed updating. We decided to update the kitchen and two of the bathrooms. We had gotten estimates that were all over the place but Ruxton's estimate included more and we felt like we were getting a better value overall. This was a very invasive project and we were living in the house at the time but they guys were clean and took care of our home. The project ran over on time a bit largely due to our schedules but we are happy with the services provided and plan on using them to renovate the bathroom in our new home.

We previously used Ruxton for our bathroom remodel a few years ago and they did a wonderful job. We recently called them back to help us with improving our kitchen. We weren't sure if we wanted a complete remodel or just a refresh. Frank came in and gave us some great ideas and made it worth going with a complete remodel and design. He spent a few days doing the design and we met with him at his new showroom. As in the past, he did not disappoint. His design and ideas for our kitchen were great! My kitchen looks amazing! The work was completed on time and at the budget we were aiming for. The workers were on time and very polite. We would definitely recommend Frank and Ruxton to anyone interested in a new kitchen or bathroom. Thank you for another great job Frank!

I needed a new bathroom in my condominium. A neighbor had used Ruxton for there kitchen here so, I decided to give them a try. I called them and they came out right away. They were on time and friendly. They measured the space and provided me with two separate estimates to do the work. One was a higher end bathroom but I couldn't afford that option and went with the estimate that was a bit lower. They were familiar with working in this building which made the process go very smoothly. It is very difficult to work in this building due to utilities needing to be interrupted and the times of day that work is permitted to take place. The men were very respectful of my home as well as being courteous to our neighbors. We installed a new airbath tub and walk in shower with custom glass tile that I picked out from their showroom located very close to my home. They made the entire experience as stress free as possible and I am very happy with my new bathroom.

I have a new home. It was finished a little over a year ago. The builder did a fine job and the kitchen was very nice for what I could afford at the time of construction. I love to cook and do so often for my family so after being settled in I decided to give myself a new gourmet kitchen with all the modern conveniences and bells and whistles. I called a few different contractors/designers and went through their designs and bids thoroughly. I decided to go with Ruxton Design and Build because their design was by far the best and it seemed I was getting more of those bells and whistles at a more reasonable cost. We began the process of selecting all my finishes back in November. I worked with their interior designer Michelle picking everything out, she made the process fun and exciting. The work began right after the Christmas holiday and finished two weeks ago. The work went smoothly and all the men arrived on time and ready to work every morning. They were there later than I expected some days in attempts to keep the schedule on track but I didn't mind because they were very pleasant and respectful. Frank was always available to answer any questions I had and came by often to check on progress. They exceeded my expectations and even did some extra's for me at no extra charge. I could not have asked for a more and would honestly recommend this company to anyone needed a new kitchen.

We were extremely pleased with the entire process and how well it went despite the size of the job. There were some delays that were not in his control (sub-contractors not showing up on time but did show up) but he handled them in a professional and urgent way and ultimately did not cause the job to run over. Quality and control really stood out to use because his level of quality and expectation of each stage was much higher then you would see from most in this industry. This was especially important because much of the project changed/evolved through out due to wanting upgrades with cabinets and appliances that needed to be replaced through out. Pricing was fair and right in line with 2 other bids we received for the job (Of course it went over because of the upgrades and changes we requested outside of the original estimate). Overall the entire job turned out great and I would and will use Frank and his company for future work. I would highly recommend him and his business to anyone looking for renovations and/or upgrades to their home, I was skeptical due to some of the reviews listed but very happy I focused on the overall consensus of Ruxton.

The owner met with my wife and I, took notes on our concerns and preferences, and came back to us with a great design that renovated and opened up the kitchen into the family room. The project took longer than expected, but that was due to some design changes we made along the way that delayed the appliances. We really appreciated their attention to detail and their effort cleaning up after the job.

They were prompt and courteous. Scott did an excellent job. The only negative I have is that the floor guys didn't show up until 11:00 or 12:00 and were here very late one night. However, they did a great job.
