Great Job! Very professional and easy to work with. It's been 4 months now and it still puts a smile on my face every time I walk on my new driveway. A perfect job!

I had previous estimates for this work which I though were too high but Jeff provided a reasonable estimate and time schedule for the project. He started the work on time and finished it on time while providing a few extra little additions to the work, which I had asked for, at no extra charge and a smiling very pleasant attitude. I couldn't be more pleased with the outcome.

I needed the work done in time for a big event at my place. He communicated well, and finished the job within the needed timeframe for a reasonable price. I would definitely call him again for landscape, deck, or concrete services.

We decided to remove our front lawn to reduce water use. We selected Sacramento Valley Landscape after obtaining several bids. Jeff, the owner, worked with us on the price to help meet our budget for the project. Jeff did all of the work himself, including: installation of brick planters, a flagstone walkway, decomposed granite paths around planters, steel borders, rock stream bed, a small patch of low water use buffalo grass, irrigation system, and a beautiful redwood and metal grate fence. For the initial lawn and plant removal and other site preparation, Jeff worked with one assistant. All of his work was done with an artistic eye and an attention to detail that we've not seen in prior landscaping work (our back yard was re-landscaped by another company, where the owner was never present, and the work showed it). We could not be more pleased with the outcome! The quality of Jeff's work is really outstanding.
I have 3 issues as to why I did not rate this company with A's.
The three month plant warranty is not long enough to see if the plants will thrive. It should have been for a year and I should have insisted on this.
The water timing was off and some of the plants did not make it as it got warmer. As a result 10 plants died.
Jeff is a likable guy but his workers needed more supervision.

Several months later more plants died even though I have watered well. I will have to replace these, too.

Workers were skilled but pushed to speed schedule. This resulted in some compromises in quality.

Things started to improve but the landscape lighting was not working.

A few weeks ago I contacted the company.

I asked the owner to send someone over to finish the landscape lighting.

He came himself, which I viewed as a very good sign and in fact worked all day.

However, at the end of the day, he said that he did not know why the lights were not working.

I expected that he would send one of his men out to fix the problem.

I have not yet heard yet on what the outcome will be.

This company has a guarantee that all planted material will thrive.

Several smaller plants have died, which is to be expected and I will ask him to make good on his warranty.

If he does I will upgrade my rating.

From start to finish the job was done professionally. Jeff, the owner, has a great personality, is very knowledgeable of his craft, and is always wearing shorts no matter the weather. The job that was before was quite detailed, but it was no issue for Jeff's crew. Often I would come out and watch the progress, this being the first time my wife and I having our front yard landscaped. The crew ripped out old concrete to make way for the new path and patio. Along the border of the path and patio was to be a river rock border, I explained the design feature to Jeff and crew; Jeff explained how it would be done and why. The rocks being spaced a part to allow water run-off and preventing water pooling on the patio. The border turned out amazing.
Long story short, I was very happy with the results. What I am most happy about is that Jeff worked with us on the price, we itemized each phase of the project, figuring out things that I could do as to reduce the cost of the project. He was very willing and understood the reasons why; which we were very appreciative for.
I would recommend Sacramento Valley Landscaping to anyone...and will more than likely be hiring them again for the backyard.
Sacramento Valley Landscape (Jeff Abdallah) advertises as a landscape company but also does decks and porches. After an excellent experience with a small landscaping job, I hired Jeff to replace and paint a rotting deck surface. His estimate was competitive and he did the work perfectly in two days. He's very busy, so you have to be flexible with scheduling, but it's worth it! I recommend Sacramento Valley Landscape for both landscaping and decks. His landscape cost was less than half of other estimates.
Angie’s List Review, Sacramento Valley Landscape
What did the provider do?
Sacramento Valley Landscape removed all the existing plants and about 6” of native soil from a 192 square foot driveway strip, amended soil to a depth of 12”, and installed about 60 square feet of brick walkway on sand. They added pre-emergent herbicide to the soil and installed weed cloth and irrigation. They also graded the plot and re-installed the drain to the street, and installed a customer-provided arbor with concrete footings.
How’d it go?
Sacramento Valley Landscaping is great!
I got three estimates; the first from Solinsky/Windsol (these seem to be the same company) was based on a site visit and was more than $5,000. The second estimate was from Mogensen Landscape. This estimate was based on emailed plans and photographs and was also $5,000. Both these estimates were beyond my budget and I thought excessive for less than 200 square feet. I also got the impression Solinsky wasn’t too interested in what he considered a small job, although to me it was a “big” job!
Jeff Abdallah of Sacramento Valley Landscape helped me eliminate items to save money—buying and planting all the greenscape myself was a considerable cost savings (which is the most fun for me anyway). Some of the items I wanted he did not agree with (for example, 12” amendments for the whole area instead of amending only planting holes, and the irrigation scheme), but when I explained my reasons and he saw the style of the rest of the garden, he agreed to do it “my way,” even though it added some cost. However, I did appreciate his suggestions, as they would have saved me money. I was impressed with his consultative approach. His estimate was under $2,000, less than half of the other vendors. I provided plans and had already picked the bricks and stones for hardscape. I also provided an arbor, which Jeff set in concrete footings. From the time we negotiated the cost to the time he started work was one month. He completed the work in two days with his assistants, Luis and Adan. As the job progressed, Jeff consulted with me to ensure I liked the work, and made minor corrections. Luis was very skilled with the brick and stone paths, with a good eye for where to cut wedges and small pieces so everything was artistic and unified. I am delighted with the result and look forward to choosing plants to fill in the wonderful work from Sacramento Valley Landscape.
I was so pleased with the landscaping I hired Jeff in December 2013 to replace and paint the tops boards on my deck. He charged $3,500 and everything went great!

Job was completed within 4 days. Jeff was professional and small yard looks great. Jeff was in continuous contact from start to finish. He and his team worked hard. The yard was prepped and overgrown bushes and greenery removed. The concrete patio was removed. Everything replaced with new grass and woodchips for a simple, kid friendly new play area. Broken stone pieces for a walkway and a small herb garden completed the project. Overall the backyard looks great and is kid friendly which is ultimately what we wanted.
The experience went very well. They finished on time and on budget and I love my new backyard. I just employed them again to rennovate my front yard including a new driveway.
I think they stuck very carefully with the design and executed it in a professional manner. I could have had the work done a little less expensive but I would have had to purchase the plants independently. I would also have had to contract with someone to get the dirt and the rocks and the other stuff, but they took care of everything; so I didn't have to worry about that.
