Safeside arrived right on time and got to work right away. They answered all my questions and did as I asked them to do. They explained the damage to the the chimney liner and showed me video of my chimney which included my property below at the same time so I would know it was my chimney and not someone elses. The only unfortunate part was that they never vacuumed out the trap door on the deck that leads to the wood chimney. They had several other jobs to do and were maybe just a little to much in a hurry.

The technician arrived on time and performed an inspection of our gas furnace flue. We were informed there was some build up in the stack, not enough to cause faulty furnace performance, and gave us the option of whether or not to do a cleaning. We had him clean it, and the price was what we were quoted over the phone. No surprises!

I would recommend them as the actual work that was performed was good...but couple of issues. The person that quoted me insisted that the chimney was required to be taken down to the roof line and that pointing was not possible. I had asked for a quote to point and to re-do the cap area as well as install a SS liner. So inital quote was $2989.00 The crew showed up and informed me that in no way did the chimney need to be taken down. They pointed and performed the other work and obviously lower the cost to $2100.00. On the administrative side, these people are very prompt at billing our credit card on time but lousy at providing correct receip

Safeside Chimney was one of the worst contractors I have dealt with. I have praised the ServiceMagic site to others for some contractors I have used. Not Safeside. They were not timely with responses, sometimes 2 or 3 calls to reach someone named Dale. Dale was unorganized and unresponsive. When they finaly finished the cleaning, the work was shoddy at best. I advise that you take Safeside off you recommended list. They certainly don't deserve the # of stars they were rated for. Thanks, Ron Trottier
