Tree Trimming
The original project turned into an emergency project because of a storm that brought down two huge trees. Sage handled the removal of the debris of the fallen limbs and removed the trees. We were impressed with the crew. We will be contacting them for the original project in the near future. They left a very good impression.

I was extremely reluctant to install a drainage system to solve our backyard flooding issue but Ed convinced me. He was extremely knowledgeable and made me feel like our problem could finally get solved. A few months later we have a nice lawn for the first time since we bought the house!

I was extremely happy with the work. Lou and his staff were great. They came on time as promised and all work was performed to my satisfaction. They cleaned up after themselves once the worked was done. I would hire them again in future.

Lou and his team were outstanding. No slackers, and Lou kept them busy doing tree-work. I took the day off to be available in case of questions, and I'm glad I did because Lou brought up issues as he found them and we were able to steer the crew towards doing the things I cannot (cutting down trees) and away from the things I can do (raking up tree stump grindings, for example). By the way, NOTHING got in the way of that stump-grinder... stump... rocks... nothing survived it. <br> <br>They arrived at 8:15AM and stayed through 4:15PM. I'm happy to host their sign on my front yard for a while to let others know I'm pleased with the job they did. <br> <br>Thanks all! <br> <br>

We hired Sage landscaping to create a new backyard that involved clearing trees, regrading, and installing a retaining wall. From start to finish, I couldn't have been more pleased with the work and the end result. Ed Sage provided some very good advice in the design phase that really helped the project immensely in the end. The whole team that worked on the project was impressive and demonstrated a strong work ethic, competence, and a desire to do things the right way. No supervision needed, which is rare. I could completely trust the team. There were no slackers on the team and no one cutting corners. The whole team brought a "can-do" attitude which was a pleasure to deal with when changes were required from original project scope. They strived throughout to ensure that I was happy with the work. While Sage wasn't the cheapest upfront, I believe they were the best value given the quality of work delivered. I will certainly be using Ed and his team going forward for all my landscaping needs.

They were there bright and early. Removed a fence panel to bring in machinery. Put some kind of padding over grass for machine which avoided damage to lawn. Cut down extreamly large tree and all went well. Hauled away all debris and put fence panel back as previously. Was almost like they were never there. Been through some nightmares with tree contractors before. This was by far the most professionally ran company I have dealt with. I will not bother shopping around again and will call sage for any tree work I need done in the future.

The landscaping looks amazing. They took the entire day and completed the job impeccably. The back looks like a new place. The tree looks so much healthier and the front is amazing. They were very professional and left everything looking neat. When I came home from work I couldn't have been happier to see the transformation. Sage has done work for one of my relatives and we have always admired their professionalism and quality of work. While the cost may be a bit more than some landscapers the quality and dependability compensates for the cost. <br />

We contacted Sage as we used him in the past. He came in and provided an estimate on work mentioned above. The estimate was for about $7000 with an understanding that placement of mulch was somewhat open-ended and may have some over-run. Once the agreement was made the work was done pretty expediently. A large team of workers and equipment descended on the property and expanded the lot, cut trees, moved boulders and repaired the fence. No problems here. <br /> The shrub ( big one ) that had to be moved, was not in luck. They moved it and placed it was essentially above the ground making and mound around it. The shrub could not gets its roots into the soil as it was too high and promptly died. It was unfortunate, but overall not a big deal. <br /> Mulching however was a big deal. Keep in mind that the job was taking place in January when the sun rises at about 7am and goes down at about 4:30pm. So, you have about 8 hours of light. We were charged for 3 days of work with 3 workers working 12 hour days. According to Sage that included 1 hour of travel time to the site, 1 hour of travel time back and 1 hour for lunch. Why does it take an hour to drive 7 miles from their location to ours and why do we have to pay for their lunch time remains unknown. Overall, placement of mulch cost us about $7000 in addition to the original estimate which included mulching. <br /> We firmly believe that we were overcharged for mulching. However, it is hard to prove since based on prior experience with Sage we assumed that their charges are accurate. Let's assume for a moment that the charged were accurate. You have an original estimate of $7000, you (the contractor) see that the job will have a significant (100%) overrun. Wouldn't it be a good idea to call your client and tell them that? Otherwise, what is the point of even having an estimate? <br /> Needless to say, we wouldn't use Sage ever again, nor recommend him to anyone. <br />

Ed Sage and his team were excellent during the entire process. Ed spent a significant amount of time with us offering his ideas and suggestions on how to design our backyard space. He was able to share his past jobs and what would work best in our situation and also provided us with many options to help us manage to what we wanted to spend. They started when they said they would and completed on time. At all times they were professional and Ed would stop by regularly to ensure everything was on track and to see if we had any questions or concerns. We even had some shrubs die due to the hot weather despite watering and he came back to replace several with no questions asked. We have another project we would like to do and will certainly look to use them again. You can certainly find other contractors who can do things like this for less but having gone that route in the past and been burned we're glad we went with Sage knowing they are well established and have a great reputation for standing behind their work. We're very pleased! <br />

We have been using Sage for 11 years. Thanks to them, I have a showroom, manicured <br /> landscape. <br /> They show up, take care of the yard, and vanish, like the shoemaker’s elves. <br /> <ul> <li>We never call to remind them of what needs to be done. </li> <li>They accommodate our schedules by communing through email and SMS since we are hard to reach.</li> <li>The only trace they were here is is a nicely striped lawn from mowing (like a ball park), manicured shrubs, a lush lawn, and disappearing weeds.</li> </ul> <br />

Really good experience, excellent work they did. ED is very professional and responsive, his workers work very carefully and efficiently, especially staking the trees, they did their best to save the trees and make the trees standing properly, my yard looks very beautiful now. This company is easy to work with. They are very professional and respond quickly to requests for quotes. Though I have used this company in the past and was pleased with the work - I still showed due diligence and obtained other quotes from other companies for the same job. Sage price is industry standard - falling right in the middle of my highest and lowest quotes. The tipping point in my decision was that I trust the expertise of Sage when it comes to tree service. The company - from office to field staff, are top notch. I'm pleased with the quality of the work performed and the clean-up by the crew. <br />

- Ed Sage provided estimate the Tues after the Irene tropical storm weekend. We had made the appointment 2 wks prior and as busy as they were he still kept the appointment. He was extremely knowledgeable and provided recommendation not to do some things I was looking at that made perfect sense...although he could have just included in the estimate and provided me now advice. At the time he said it would be 1-2 wks before they could schedule the job due to large amount work in their queue <br /> - While at my house I asked numerous additional questions and recommendations concerning some lawn overseeding and sod work. Ed answered all my questions and provided me the steps to take if I did it myself. He also offered to provide me the sod by ordering some extra for another job he had. <br /> - I accepted the bid two days later and they told me they would call once they had scheduled the job to confirm it was ok for me. I also requested the sod he had offered to get and deliver for me at cost. <br /> - They delivered the sod (30 roles) a couple of days later <br /> - They showed up on the scheduled date first thing in morning and were on site until 6pm <br /> - They did everything included in estimate and also trimmed a large holly tree and picked up a large brush pile I had that were not in the estimate. They did this at no additional charge <br /> - They thoroughly cleaned up the yard, driveway, sidewalk and street <br /> - I was very satisfied with the work they did and professionalism of the crew <br /> - Ed was very helpful and direct in all his communications with me <br /> - I would highly recommend Sage and actually contacted them a couple of weeks later to due some additional landscaping work for me <br /> <br />
