Salt Creek Gardens, Inc. has been serving Maryland, Washington, DC and Northern Virginia for over 30 years. As a full service landscape design and construction company, we specialize in creating spectacular outdoor living environments. Our masons are true craftsmen, creating stone and paver patios, outdoor and indoor fireplaces, outdoor kitchens, and retaining walls. Our primary designer, Cindy Shuart, is a degreed ornamental horticulturist who has a deep understanding of plant materials and the environment, together with years of experience designing and overseeing installations of hardscaping of all kinds. We will arrange for a time to meet with you, discuss your needs and dreams, take measurements and photos, and then take time to prepare a professional drawing. Brian and Cindy are a 1-2 punch that literally had me jumping for joy. I was incredibly nervous about re-doing our entire front yard in one large project with a company I had never hired before. They were recommended by a neighbor who has used them over the last five years on two separate houses, so I had some knowledge of their final product, but I was absolutely thrilled with the results and surprised by how easy they made the whole process from beginning to end. I'm a project manager for a living, so I have a tendency to be a "tough customer." Beyond the impeccable customer service: multiple site visits, phone calls, texts, drawings, and both being on-site and hands-on during the actual installation, their prices beat out 4 (highly reputable) local competitors. I never felt nickle-and-dimed. In fact, quite the opposite. They made last-minute adjustments when I made special requests at no additional charge. He even treated my lawn and cut my grass when our normal maintenance folks didn't show up (needless to say, I'm now exploring a maintenance contract with Salt Creek Gardens). In less than a week, several neighbors have stopped by to ask who did the work, and despite torrential downpours, the french drain is keeping the lawn from having its usual pools of standing water. Brian was able to work with a long-time associate to negotiate a better deal for me on some large tree removal. Between the tree removal, solving my water problem, designing and installing 3 new beds, and re-gravling my front, Salt Creek Gardens ended up being the perfect one-stop-shop for all my landscaping needs. I definitely will use them again when it comes time to re-pave my front walk and re-do the back yard. <br />

Cindy Shuart is an award winning designer. The best there is. She re-did our front landscape with a beautiful mix of plantings and stone. We used her in the past for our pool landscape and patio. It include a fabulous waterfall, the use of river stone and a great mix of shrubs and perennials. That design is now 6 years old and it has stood the test of time superbly.

We used Salt Creek Gardens 5-6 times over the past year, so the cost estimate above adds together all the projects. Our back yard needed a complete makeover (starting with removal of forsythia which had taken over half our back yard, replacement of sod, and entirely new shrubs on 3 sides of the back yard). We also needed considerable work done on our front lawn (reconstruction of a slate walkway, improving runoff of rain water away from the house, tree trimming, and driveway resurfacing). They power-washed the house, sanded and resealed our deck, and did some window-cleaning. <br /> <br /> We were completely satisfied with the work done by Salt Creek Gardens. The owner, Brian Wiggins, was very pleasant to work with, always punctual, and kept a careful eye on the progress of his workers. He always had good reasons when he suggested specific improvements, such as planting only shrubs that did not attract deer, which are a problem in our Colesville (Montgomery County) neighborhood. His crew were always punctual, pleasant but never obtrusive, and very hard-working. They didn?t seem to take many breaks, and several times they kept working until nightfall to get the job done. (Many of his workers have worked for him for many years, which is a good sign). The quality of the work seems to be high, and our front and back yards and exterior of the house haven?t looked this good since we moved into the neighborhood almost 40 years ago.

We have been dreaming of a beautiful backyard since we bought our fixer upper home last year. After researching many of the landscaping companies in our area that did paver patios we did consultations and got quotes to evaluate the companies based on price, quality and design suggestions. I am so happy we used Salt Creek Gardens! They exceeded my expectations in every area. They were dependable and cleaned up after themselves after each day. The craftsmanship on the installation of the hardscape was impressive. We just had our first dinner out in the backyard on the new patio with the fire burning and the water fountain running!Thank you so much to Brian at Salt Creek Gardens. It’s been great. They’re totally attentive and responsive to our needs. We had a tree that was hit by lightning and he came out in no time to take of that.
