Sam did a great job bringing our 100 year old floors and our house to life! Sam and his team were super flexible and were able to come earlier that we had originally agreed on so we could get moved into our new house a little sooner! Throughout the entire process Sam was quick to send a ton progress pictures and quick to text back to answer any questions. We look forward to having him and his team back out to complete the final room in our house, thanks Sam!

This company was great. They were easy to get in touch with (I reached out via Facebook) and did any excellent job. The owner did great work — I love the finished product — but, more than that, took great care with the work. He plugged holes that were in my floor, covered and sealed any of my belongings that were near by, sent me progress photos throughout the days he worked as new milestones were reached, etc. And the price was very reasonable. I would absolutely recommend this business & will work with him again if I have a need to refinish the floors in other areas of my house.

We hired Sam's Hardwood Floors to refinish the hardwood floors and install quarter-round molding in our living room, dining room and entryway/main hallway. The wood flooring in these areas had been hidden under some retro shag carpeting when we bought our home, and they appeared worn, dull and out-dated. Sam's business had some great reviews and all of his work exceeded our expectations. Our initial estimate was prompt and painless and we found his rates to be VERY reasonable. Sam was courteous, informative and responsive throughout the process. We received constant updates about our project (by text – with pictures) and Sam demonstrated his knowledge and interest in his craft throughout. Sam was excellent at answering our questions and providing the right information to help us make decisions throughout the project (which stain type, color, molding, sheen etc.). Sam and his team treated our home with the utmost care and respect and we could not be more pleased with their work. Sam is a true craftsman and he runs a model business which we would STRONGLY recommend to anyone. Do yourself and your floors a favor and contact Sam TODAY!

I would recommend Sams to anyone who asked. I know my ratings may seem unbelievable but if you are thinking about refinishing you must call him! His work and work ethic was above excellent . The best work and price was lower than any other competitor for same work.

Stop what you're doing and call Sam's Hardwood Flooring now. I can't say enough good things about the quality of the work, fairness of pricing, how great Loc is to deal with, and the responsiveness and professionalism of the team overall. We got quotes from a few different people and couldn't be happier with our choice. I hate millennial stereotypes, but my dream come true is a responsive contractor who primarily communicates by text. Loc responded promptly, was communicative throughout scheduling the estimate appointment and work, clearly communicated when he was coming and going each day, and would send update pictures at the end of each day's work - his pride in his work is incredible, and it should be. In a matter of less than a week, he stayed exactly on schedule and removed all of our old carpet and sanded, stained, and finished our 110-year old floors and they look better than we could have imagined. He even went above and beyond to fix a few loose boards and transition strips between rooms. You'd be hard pressed to find a better partner for the pride he puts into his work, the value, and finished product.

I have a rental property that desperately needed a hardwood floor facelift. Sam sanded and refinished the second floor and buffed the first floor. I decided to have Sam do the job because he clearly communicated what needed to be done and the price was reasonable. Before starting each day Sam text me that he was on the way to the property. He let me know when he arrived, what he completed that day, when he left, and even provided pictures. This was greatly appreciated since I do not live local. He was very professional and did a fabulous job repairing the bathroom floor that had been damaged from moisture. He is very conscientious and will not leave until you're happy! I'm very happy with the outcome and quick turnaround.

Sam's did an awesome job. They took out the existing carpet and refinished the floors that had been covered for years. Loc was very communicative - sending daily text updates and pictures and was helpful in choosing the stain color and finish. Our floors look amazing! So glad we went with Sam's. I would definitely use them again in the future.

Sam is fantastic. I cannot begin to say enough good things about him. He had great communication before starting, during the work, and even afterward. Our floors look amazing. His pricing was very reasonable. We selected Sam because his pricing was reasonable (in line with other quotes - a bit higher than another quote, but much lower than others), good reviews and pictures on Angie's List, and willingness to answer all of our questions (and we had a lot of them). The floors look like it is brand new wood. Sam was even able to help with another problem that occurred in our home while we were out. Sam sent several pictures everyday. He gave us several choices on strains and finishes - going so far as to stain the floors so we could see the color. His crew was very quick and efficient, but careful. His pride and craftsmanship was evident throughout. I would highly recommend Sam. In fact, I honestly recommend that you call Sam to get a quote. You will not be disappointed.

Sam was very responsive and able to schedule, then re-schedule, us with rather short notice. As stated by many others, his customer communications are outstanding. His price for the job was surprisingly lower than many of the other flooring companies. Our job was small (1st floor and 1 set of stairs in a rowhouse) so I think some of the bigger flooring guys didn't want to invest their time unless it was financially worth it. Nothing wrong with that; we met some great flooring experts along the way. But in the end, we couldn't afford to spend $3500 for this size of job. I'll be honest, I was a little nervous about hiring the more affordable contractor, but Sam and his workers came so highly recommended, we took the risk. We're so glad we did! They showed up right on time, with all kinds of modern sanding and dust removal / air cleaning equipment. They spent the first 30-60 minutes taping up plastic sheets for dust control throughout the house. The first day consisted of sanding the floor and stairs to remove old finish and uneven spots, and filling gaps or holes (some we pointed out, some Sam found on his own and took care of). Next was lots of air cleaning and vacuuming before putting down the wood sealer. When that was dry, it was buffed out, vacuumed again, and then coated with the first of two layers of top coat. On the second day, they returned in the morning and buffed/vacuumed again in preparation for applying the final finish coat. By lunch time, everything was done and we could (but didn't) walk on it. The job site was all cleaned up and they were gone. That's it! The floor looks beautiful with an even, soft glow, but with the grain and feel of the real wood still intact. We spec'd a satin-finish water-based polyurethane for our top coats. I've seen a number of friends' poorly refinished wood floors and many have missed corners or that thing where so much wood is removed, there a slope down from the baseboards to the center of the room. Not so with Sam and his workers; you can tell they know how to do this right and are real experienced professionals. We'll be hiring them back to do the other two floors in our house soon! Highly recommended.

The work that Loc and his team did is absolutely amazing! Hire this company for any of your flooring needs. Before we had work done, the floors were extremely loud as they flexed and creaked quite a bit. There were numerous gouges, marks and years of wear and sun damage. When he came out to give me a quote, Loc assured me everything would be great and he could reduce the noise by maybe 80-90%. I compared quotes with 2 other local companies and Sam's pricing was better by a drastic number. The work ethic the team displayed was phenomenal. The first day they ended up working nearly 11 hours to get the first stage of the work completed. They were on time, worked extremely hard and got the floors to where they needed to be for refinishing. They also re-nailed the floors upstairs and down to reduce (and in some cases, seemingly eliminate) creaking noises. Each day, Loc texted me photos of the progress made. As the job was finishing up, he gave us 3 chances to be certain of what we wanted for the final finish. It turned out, he was right to do so. We changed our minds on the final day from Semi-Gloss to Satin. It was like he knew that we needed the time to fully think on this and figure it out. Before arriving and leaving, each day I was given 20-30 minutes notice so I had plenty of time to prepare the house for their arrival. The week I had work done was unfortunately a week that had 2 days of snow but the guys showed up both days and got everything accomplished that they needed to. The floors have now been dry for almost 48 hours and look absolutely stunning. Picking a flooring company was one of the hardest decisions that I had to make as a new homeowner but I know that I made the best decision to go with Sam's Hardwood Floors.

First let me say I have never written a review before, but Sam did such a wonderful job that I felt it was the right thing to do. We have hired a number of contractors over the last few years and Sam's Hardwood Floors was the only company that did exactly what they said they would do in the time frame Sam quoted. We had purchased a new home and the floors were in really bad shape. Sam refinished all the floors upstairs, downstairs and stairways and they look great. When he arrived he had asked what color stain we were thinking about...we knew we did not want a light color. Without us asking he had sanded an area of flooring to the bare wood and set up four separate square taped out areas with different color stains. This really made it easy for us to make a decision. We had not yet moved into the house prior to the floors being refinished, every night Sam would send pictures of the work he had completed that day. Can you think of the last time a contractor has taken the time to do that? We cannot say enough about his work and professionalism. I am very particular and would definitely hire Sam again and highly recommend him to others.

Sam's Hardwood Flooring was extremely professional and helped us achieve the look we wanted with our hardwood flooring. He answered every question we had, was very punctual and worked with us to attain the color we wanted. With a baby on the way, Sam's Hardwood Flooring worked diligently during the weekend and made sure they got the floors done in time for us to move everything in before the little one came. They sent us pictures of the floors and progress at the end of everyday as we were away. I would highly recommend Sam's Hardwood Flooring for anyone looking to refinish their wood floors.

I cannot say enough good things about Sam' Hardwood Floors! Every aspect of the job was perfect. They were right on time to give an estimate and start the job. We bought an older home and had some big renovations done. As we're are hurrying to move in, Sam started the day after our remodeling contractor finished up and worked on both Saturday & Sunday to get the floors completed so we could move in on schedule. Communications were excellent, Sam would text each day as he was on his way to our house, and text again when he had completed (with pictures of progress each day). The team was courteous, clean and efficient. The price was very competitive. The floors look FANTASTIC! The character of 65 year old floors with a top notch refinishing job look far superior to new floors. I recommend Sam's Hardwood Flooring to anyone for any refinishing job.

Integrity, artistry, and honesty -- we love Sam!</p> <p>My boyfriend, Peter, and I had just closed on our new house on the Friday and wanted to refinish our hardwood floors before we moved in. Weeks earlier I had scheduled someone to give us an estimate the day after the closing (to start the following Monday), but when that contractor arrived he told us that the floors were irreparably damaged because the previous owners had painted them rather than stained them. He said we would be better off installing new floors, which he would be happy to do for about 4 times the cost of what he told me over the phone. He also told us that the flooring that we did have was not nice enough to sand and polyurethane, anyway, and if we still wanted to go that route, we would have to find someone else. We told him that we would have to think about it and waved goodbye.</p> <p>I immediately got on the Internet and found Sam's Hardwood Flooring (Loc Pham). He came out the next day (Sunday) and said that he could do the job despite the black paint. He also cautioned us that the floors might be a little damaged by the paint; we wouldn't know until after the sanding. We assured him that we like "character" in hardwood floors. In fact, we were hoping that the floors would be heart pine with lots of knots and variation in the grain as well as nail holes and age, but it turned out that the floors were a soft pine (less interesting but old enough to still have character.) Anyway, Sam and his team started work on the Wednesday and were done Friday afternoon, a week after we closed on the house! He sanded the floors to their original 1878 beauty and put down three coats of polyurethane (satin finish).</p> <p>Since Peter is very busy at work (in Philly), and since I live and work up in Boston, we were glad that we felt very comfortable giving Sam the keys to the house for the three days. He, Peter, and I stayed in communication via text and telephone throughout the process. Peter stopped by before the finishing to see if we wanted to stain or just polyurethane (a debate that Peter and I had for months before we even bought the house). I was FaceTimed in to the discussion. In the end we decided the floors were simply so pretty that we would just do the poly to emphasize the old country charm of the wood. I mean, the floors look F'ng AMAZING! We are beyond thrilled. </p> <p>That first guy obviously thought he would upsell us. The other day I ready a quote in a design magazine, "Only in America would a person rip up high quality 150 year old hardwood flooring worth $15 - $20 per square foot only to install inferior and flimsy modern flooring worth $3 per square foot." I laughed. In the end our project was affordable and we got the real deal.</p> <p>I wish you all the best with your projects!</p>

Took 3 days (due to the drying to the stain). They did a great job and the team kept us up to date on the progress of the project and sent us photo updates! They worked efficiently and the floors look wonderful!
