Samuel Construction Group is a first class general construction and handyman company. They are not perfect, but they are very good. Mike, one of their field supervisors does amazing work. I asked him to design and construct a small but high quality wood patio/deck. I was totally pleased by the quality of his work and his attention to detail. He also did a myriad of other handy work for me. I was impressed by their reasonable pricing and quality work. He may not always get it right the first time, but he comes early and stays late and gets the job done. Pearl, their Office Manager, orchestrates most of the work, and is extraordinarily accommodating. She is very efficient and professional. I would highly recommend the Samuel Construction Group to anyone who wants honest, reliable and high quality construction and/or handyman work. Five Stars!!!

I had a great experience with Samuel construction. Mike did the initial consultation and quote and also came back to actually do the work. He was courteous and professional. Most importantly, the work was completely expertly. Mike repaired wooden boards on the gate of our fence, installed a new mailbox and mailbox post, installed a flag pole holder, sealed a hole in in the brick façade of our home by filling the hole with new bricks and mortar, and he repaired the rotting wood at the bottom of our front entry doorframe along with repainting the outside doorframe. All work was done with great quality. I plan to hire them for future work.

We used Mike, the owner of Samuel Construction group on several occasions, and finally, the lack of communication skills came back to bite us. If you read the other negative reviews carefully, you will see that this is a consistent complaint, and Mike's response is always the same, "he is a professional," and it's the customers' fault that he didn't understand. Yet Mike refuses to create even the most simple drawing to confirm he is on the same page. He also will not refer to plans when provided. In our last "misunderstanding," we asked Mike to build a double closet (which two other contractors understood as, and sketched out, two side by side closets with bi-fold doors). What we got after a full day's work and $780 was one, half-built, closet with a bi-fold door. Mike insists that this "double door closet" is what we had asked for. Mike refused to correct this mistake unless he charged us for the time and materials. I tried to find an amicable solution to this "misunderstanding," and this was Mike's response verbatim (his grammar and typos): "Complains, all companies always have them. You could have done better to hire that other Contractor you came back to us after been disappointed for the first time because you knew it was your fault. We treat our customers with care and respect. Why are you insisting we don't own you anything." $50 an hour sounds great until you have to pay twice to fix Mike's mistakes (that he, of course, never makes), and this will be the last time we are going to pay someone else to fix Mike's errors.

Actually cost was over 3x the estimated amount, and I'm now struggling financially because of their poor estimates. In addition, I had to have them return, because they did so much damage to my house.

Remember that we took times to explain you the time your project could take and you agree for. We didn't force you to buy our services. You had many options, but you choose our price, and you even said that it was good. You also sent us an email saying that our floor installation was perfect we still have those emails with us. But today we're confuse about your complain. If you think the price wasn't fair, you can call the company and request for a refund."

Poorly done; incomplete; wearing off already after only a week. Tried contacting the office on three occasions and have zero response.

"We apologize for the inconvenience. We caulked up to 4 bathrooms for you for $100. After more than 2 months, you called us saying that you need us to come over and and redo the work. Please, remember that we old you to wait up to 24 hours before using the shower. Now, we understand that you didn’t have any shower to use, and you ended up by using some of them. That is probably why the caulking didn’t stand up. You didn’t follow the instructions. We are sorry again for the inconvenience."

I needed to paint my home and do some handyman work to get the home in excellent shape to be put on the market. I called several construction companies to discuss the scope of work and receive quotes. I heard back within a few minutes from Samuel Construction Group. They reviewed the work on the same day, gave me a quote promptly, began the project at the agreed time and completed the work on schedule, which was critical given the tight timeframe. The paint job also made the home look like new construction and all of the handyman jobs were done with a high degree of professionalism. The peace of mind we felt with this project was priceless.

I was extremely pleased. I am not usually one to review people, but I feel I cannot go without saying how happy I am with the job that was done. I had a list of services that needed to be completed and fully expected that the technician would not be able to get to all of them in the one day that I had hired him for. He absolutely finished every one of them, did a great job and saved me money with his out-of-the-box thinking. Mike was very professional, on-time, efficient, and hard working. I am thrilled to know that there are service providers out there who will do such a great job!

We have used Samuel Construction several times, having been pleased with their work and price. As part of the sale of our home, we agreed to have the crawl space relined with plastic and asked Samuel Construction to do it. While they were here, an unrelated pipe leak turned major. They rearranged their schedule, cut open the pantry wall behind the offending sink, and found that the (30-year-old) pipe had never been glued! They purchased the replacement joint, repaired the sink and the wall, and finished (with the crawl-space, too) by lunchtime. They saved the day!

Caulking was fast and looks great, price was very reasonable. Had just a little trouble finding a time for him to come; it's the busy season for contractors. Will be asking Samuel Construction to do all future recaulking at our house.

They cashed the check for more than what was owed and refused to return the excess. I had to go to the bank to make the adjustment. They are dishonest. Plus, they did a bad job on the floor.

"What this customer is saying, is not true. People don’t want to take responsibility for their mistakes. She paid for the good job we did, but she made a mistake by writing $800 check in number instead of $500 and $500 in letter. Then, the bank decided to make an investigation which was supposed to take many days. But, she didn’t want to wait for the investigation; instead, she asked us for immediate refund. In the meantime, our bank advice us to not make any refund because it was still investigating. After 3 business days her money was returned to her bank account."

Mike arrived timely and completed the work within the allotted hours. He was very professional in his approach to the work. He discussed the work with me and suggested an approach that would facilitate completing the work efficiently. He exhibited exceptional skills in resolving problems when some of the doors need to be planed or otherwise adjusted because the existing frame wasn't level. I will definitely hire Samuel construction group to perform future work for me. I highly recommend them without any reservation.

Hired Samuel Construction for several odd jobs around the house - replacement of bathroom floor, changing bathroom faucet, painting an outdoor porch ceiling, and several smaller jobs. Mike came to do the work for all jobs, had a helper for the larger jobs. Very efficient, polite, professional and did good quality work. Seemed to know what he was doing. Very satisfied overall and with what I paid. Would hire again for other work we need done!
