This was awful. It began with me purchasing the "Angie's Deal" for the room and paying up front. I thought I was getting a good deal, but was reminded of "NEVER PAY BEFORE SERVICE IS COMPLETED" rule. Alas, I didn't have a choice. He came to see the space. Said "No problem. Should take 1-2 days." I told him I felt bad that the coupon was not adequate payment for a room that size but he said, "Oh it's ok. Don't worry about it." I offered to pay more. I asked it be completed before Easter...which was over 2 weeks away, and he said he could do that. A few days later he arrived with 2 other guys and set up. It took them most of the day just to set up...easily 3-4 hours due to them stopping often and leaving for large periods of time. They were there for at leat 6-7 hours the first day and not even 1/2 way through. The next day they arrived 4 hours past the time they had said they'd be there, but was only 2 men. Jim, the business owner, was constantly leaving. The 2nd day I could tell they were working hard so I gave Jim a check for $80 to thank him and because I felt the project was worth more than I had paid. BIG mistake. They were there until after 7pm. I was always agreeable with them leaving their stuff there and dealing with the huge mess they had created in the space (I work from home so I was always there). Another day came. Again arriving hours later than agreed on. They stayed until 10:30pm that night, my husband had already gone to bed and I needed to remain available while they were still there. It seemed they were done. They "cleaned up," said that if I noticed anything to let them know ASAP and they'd fix it, I thanked them, and they left. A day later I noticed the spots around the recessed lights had been missed and a few spots on the ceiling. After many failed attempts to get Jim to come, he finally agreed to 8am one morning. 8am came and went. It was 10am and I texted him asking where he was. He responded "I'm on my way." 10:40 and nothing. I called him and left a message that if he couldn't be there in 5-10 minutes to forget it. He responded saying he'd be there. I wish he hadn't. IT GOT REALLY BAD HERE... He arrived as I was needing to leave for my appointment. When I came back he informed me he had spilled some paint. Now, they had already been there for over 2 hours for "touch ups." I went to the kitchen to eat lunch and heard them sanding wood. I was afraid to look. Lots of banging... I cringed. I went back to work and a few hours later they were getting in the truck and just left. Didn't say anything. I went to check the work and about died. The paint they had spilled wasn't even in the room they were painting in. It was in my dining room. Paint all over my expensive wool rug, plants, antique stuffed bench, and another rug. Not to mention, all over the hard wood floors and spatters of paint on my walls. Where he had GOUGED and hit the woodwork of my railings and trim, he had taken CEILING PAINT and tried to cover it up. So, chalky ceiling paint all over my railings, door trim, etc. It looked AWFUL. There were holes in the floor from his scaffolding. He had even splattered white paint on the gray walls he had already painted. It was a MESS. He had set his paint bucket on another rug and leaked thick paint all over that. When I tried to contact him about it he blocked my texts/phone. There was no getting through to him anymore. I spent 4 hours scrubbing the ceiling paint off the woodwork/trim, floors, repainted the wall spots he ruined, repainted the trim/railings, and TRIED to get the paint out of the bench fabric and rug to no avail. What he did was absolute vandalism. He left my home in shambles. I'm considering small claims and also to get my insurance company involved to manage repairs. I will NEVER use Jim again and his lack of professionalism was incredible. Someone like this should not be in business. I learned my lesson...YOU GET WHAT YOU PAY FOR.
