<p>I contacted Sandwich Isle Pest Solutions for an estimate on treating termite in my home. I was contacted the next day by the Sandwich Isle sales manager. We met a few days later so that he could measure the size of the house and estimate volume of Vikane gas fumigant needed.</p> <p>I appreciated the attention to detail provided by the sales manager (timetable, checklist and nylonfume bags) needed to prepare the house and safeguard items left in the home. The sales manager was able to move up the fumigation a week earlier for me. I followed their checklist and secured the food in the bags provided. The fumigation crew showed up in the afternoon as promised (2:30 PM) to set-up the fumigation tent. The crew leader checked the bagging I had done. </p> <p>Per the timetable the house would be under fumigation and cleared by 2:00 PM the next day to accommodate turn on of the gas after the fumigation. I returned the next day at 2 PM and found that the tent had been removed on schedule, but, the doors were still sealed with warning signs. I had to wait another 30 to 40 minutes before the fumigation manager came by to unlock the doors secured with their lock boxes. This was a minor change to the timeline but I was anxious about meeting the Gas Company technician who was scheduled to restore and check the gas line after the fumigation. </p> <p>The only other minor disappointment was sagging rain gutters above the front porch and rain gutters above the back porch. The fumigation manager noted that the crew was unable to re-secure the front and back gutters to the eaves (screws on the back gutters had been pulled out) . I later had a friend help me reattach the front and back gutter to the eaves using new hardware (screws for the back gutter and new rain gutter spike for the front). </p> <p> Overall, Sandwich isle Pest Solutions did accomplish the major objective which was to rid the house of termites by fumigation. I felt their office staff and fumigation crew worked together to get the job done so that I could get back into the house per the projected timeline. </p> <br />

Requested three quotations, not all vendors responded. Sandwich Isles responded and gave us a quotation promptly. After our decision and booking, they delivered fume-proof bags for us to store our foodstuffs, and asked us many times if we had questions. An email prepared us for the name and phone number of the crew boss. The crew was polite and patient as we extricated ourselves from the house on tenting morning. The crew boss also telephoned us a status reports during the procedure, we felt no need for concerns. <br /> Sure enough, after the house had been aired out and we were allowed back in, the dry wood termites (and other buggies) were dead as hoped. We don't have any suggestions about dealing with the provider as that was fine, just give yourself time to deal with preparing for the procedure, including sealing all refrigerated or frozen goods in doubled bags. Look at it as a great time for cleaning out the 'frig, freezer and the medicine cabinet! <br /> <br /> <br />

We received a lower bid but S I's attention to detail inspecting our home won us over.

I contacted 3 companies to get quotes to fumigate my house. I did not necessarily want to go with the really cheap companies because I wanted to avoid problems if possible because I've heard complaints about some of them. Guy Matsumoto is Sandwich Isle's senior sales manager and came out to inspect my house. I knew my home would be a little more expensive to fumigate because of the extended roof line from additions to the house. Also, they had to deal with not being able to walk on some of the roofs because it would not support their weight. Guy was very knowledgeable and helpful in his suggestions. The quotes I received were close in price. I decided to go with Sandwich Isle because of two extra services they provided. They would spray borate dust in the attic spaces to help cut down on re-infestation and would do a perimeter pest control treatment around the house after the tent was removed to keep ants from outside going inside to seek out the dead termites. <br /> Kalani Kiaaina was the crew leader on the day of fumigation. I was impressed with his concern about minimizing damage to the fiberglass roof addition because it was old and fragile. He called his office to see if he would be on the crew coming back the next morning to remove the tent. He was not so he told me he would speak to the crew leader and tell him about the precautions to take in removing the tent. <br /> I returned home the following afternoon after receiving the call that it was safe to enter my home. I walked around the house to do an inspection. I was surprised at the minimal damage to the fiberglass roof. I expected some damage because it was so fragile but it was in pretty good shape. I found two of my ladders in the back had been used (which I didn't mind) but had been left in the backyard instead of put away back under shelter. It had rained on fumigation day so I guess the tents needed to be washed down because all the hoses around the house had been used. But the nozzles from the two garden hoses in the front of my house had been removed. One nozzle was left near the hose but the other all-brass nozzle was missing. I'd had it for a long time and now I had the expense and inconvenience of replacing it. <br /> On 10/13, I sent an e-mail about my good and bad experiences to the general manager, Ian Mateo. On 10/20, I sent a follow-up e-mail since I had not heard back from him. He responded on 10/22 and said he was out of town on business travel. If he had set up his e-mail to give automatic responses saying that he was traveling and would have limited access to e-mail, I would certainly have been more understanding of why it was taking so long for him to respond. He apologized and said they would talk to their staff about not using the customer's ladders. He offered to send someone out and replace the nozzle. By that time, I had been shopping around for a replacement and was surprised at all the choices available. I turned down his offer because I wanted to get exactly what I wanted and not let someone else pick it out. <br /> So I had good and not so good experiences with Sandwich Isle. I am not sure if I would use this company again. <br />

Service performed as described and expected. However, an attic access door was damaged and I was not informed until after the fumigation service was performed. Contractor replaced door a week later. <br />

Gil takes care of you like no one else does. He is very good at what he does and has done an excellent job.

I hired Sandwich Isles Pest Solutions to fumigate my home. In preparation for the fumigation I arranged to have my cats taken else where and also blocked the home from entry. I sought out an animal friendly company and expressed my concern for my cats during this process. This company assurred me that the fumigation would be animal friendly and the company also included this language of my concern in their work order and invoice. The day after the fumication, five of my cats were missing. Over the course of the next one to two weeks five of my cats were found dead from the fumigation. <br /> <br /> Clearly Sandwich Isle Pest Solutions is not an animal friendly business.

Sam the tech that comes out is fantastic, he is friendly, nice and always polite. He has helped with rat trapping as well. They do a very good job and use pet friendly spray.

I was overall impressed with them, and had a lot of different options that they discussed thoroughly with me.

They're keeping our house more or less pest free. Plus they're friendly, pleasant to work with and prompt.

They are very punctual and reliable. They are are long time local company. They are very precise about what thy do and I have had good experiences with them.

They are reasonable. Their technician, Gill, is the best I've ever had. I would use them again in the future if I needed to.

The serviceman is very pleasant and he always lets us know when he is coming to inspect.

The installer is very friendly and did a good job installing plenty termite stations around our house about every 6'. We have had it for 3 yrs now and the wood posts have not detected any termite activity around the house. I did find termites in my raised garden bed so I showed the serviceman and he installed two baits right outside the garden bed. I have not seen termite activity since 1 month after he installed this bait in this immediate area. I have not determined if there is new termite activity nearby. I am confident the system works if the termites find the bait, however I question whether or not the termites are going right past the stations to my house. I wish the perimeter was more continuous and not just every 6'. The only other complaint I have is that the serviceman hasn't been here for almost 5 months. This is the second time this has happened. Last time, they didn't know why this happened, I just fell off the schedule?

They are wonderful. He got rid of the ants without using any chemicals. He is really brilliant with what he does.

They are very good. I recommend them. Their service is great. I am very pleased with them. They are nice. They are reliable. They are honest. Their demeanor is excellent. They have no complaints against them. They are insured.
