Do not under any circumstances use Sangre de Cristo Paving a/k/a Mike and Martin’s Paving. We hired them to pave our double width and semicircular driveways and to remove and replace broken sidewalk on October 12, 2018. In accordance with the contract, we paid $8077.53. The owner for the paving company, Mike Gorman, is the most unprofessional business person we have ever dealt with. He is dishonest, never calls when he promises to, and is so willing to shortchange his customers and workers (who we believe are paid off the books at a subpar wage of $150/day) that you are being warned not to deal with him. His business practice is to send crews to locations without sufficient supplies and without any supervisors. He also orders his crews to do multiple jobs on the same day. We expected professional results for the price we paid and, after multiple cancellations and promised repairs and numerous cancelled and postponed appointments, this never happened. At one point, Mike Gorman actually fired a crew member for going out to buy extra concrete that was needed for the portion of the driveway that extended to the street.

Mike and his crew went above and beyond to meet our expectations. Even though we had a few setbacks with weather, mechanical breakdowns, and family emergencies they were able to complete the job and we are very pleased with the product and will use them again for all our asphalt and seal-coating needs.

Couldn't be happier with the service, timeliness, cost and quality of the job. Mike from Mike & Martin's personally viewed the job site and together we negotiated and agreed on a plan, timeline and cost for the job. Mike's crew arrived on time, followed the plan exactly as discussed and completed the job as promised. The quality of work was exceptional and Mike took the time to make personal contact at the completion of the job and again after a couple of weeks to insure my satisfaction. I would highly recommend Mike & Martin's Asphalt Paving and Sealcoating as a reputable, conscientious, and quality business. Mike and his team came over and put asphalt down and did a lot of prep work for my driveway. His team was professional and did everything I asked. I would recommend Mike & Martins to anyone that has a need for a large project or a small project.

Due to inclement weather the crews worked extended workdays to complete all work on schedule. They picked up and removed all trash and excess materials daily. The actual work performed was exceptional. I am very pleased with the job and highly recommend this company.

When Mike paved the driveway, it looked sloppy in places and the seams weren’t even. So I gave him a grade of a D. I should have spoken with him directly. I was working through his salesman instead, with no resolution. Mike contacted me and was concerned about the job. To his credit, he came back out and refinished the areas of my driveway to my satisfaction.

unreal...Mike came out (super guy), gave me a very reasonable estimate...Mike sent his crew out the next day...cleaned and cleaned before they repaired anything...worked until dark and came back this morning and finished with the sealing of the driveway...and trust me this was a very long drive way...I am so happy with Mike's job that I am going to recommend his services to our homeowners association...thanks Mike and crew for an awesome job...and of course we have to thank Angie's list for the recommendation...

I cannot say enough good about the effort put in by this company and the amazing positive result. These folks were working on a steep grade and to a man they worked strenuously to accomplish a beautiful result. I recommend "Mike and Martin's Asphalt Paving and Sealing" without reservation.

Exceeded every expectation. Mike did everything he promised and in fact did more than was agreed upon. His crew was literally a well oiled machine .I conversed with each of the men and there seemed to be a universal viewpoint .These guys treated the project at my home as though they were doing the job at there own homes. Quite impressive in this day and age.

They came out and did the seal and it rained on it. From splashes the tar got all over the side of my building. They pressure washed most of it off and Mike said he would hire a painter to paint what hadn't been cleaned off. That never happened. He promised to come out and re-do the parking lot, which they did. They did a poor job of sealing the cracks by not cleaning them out before sealing. Now just a few months later the tar is coming out in certain areas. The Asphalt patches were also sub standard because they didn't pack them in well. The crew got asphalt sealer all over the sidewalks and street. They tried to pressure wash it off but it didn't work and it looks terrible. He stopped answering my calls after that. I've had my parking lot done 4 times in the last 15years. Mike and Martin's was the worst service I have received of all four. The only thing I feel he did right was to charge me half of what he quoted.

While we needed the driveway paved, we decided to only lay the base course and wait until the winter passed. M&M kept us informed about their arrival date. Once on site, they got the base course down. They did have mechanical problems with a piece of equipment, however the team stuck with the job, fixed the equipment. Impressive.

Mike was the lowest bidder. That often concerns me, but in the actual event, he worked around difficult weather conditions to get the job done before winter set in. His crew was professional. The repairs were done correctly and cleanup was excellent. At one point, we discussed a difficult driveway that had not been asphalted because this neighbor is recovering from a devastating financial setback brought on by health issues. This led to a significant erosion issue after every major rain. A trench had developed through the width of the driveway. Mike said he would add in a fix for her drive at no extra cost to the HOA that had contracted with him for the other repairs. I expected a few feet of asphalt to cover the culvert that was crushing and eroding. He actually created a driveway entrance about 30 ft. wide and extending about 12 ft. up the drive. I was stunned. See the included photo. He and his crew went far beyond our expectations both in the work we had contracted for and also in the work he offered to do for out neighbor. I would highly recommend Mike and Martin's Asphalt to anyone. I included photos of the drive way fix and one of four roadway patches.

Went GREAT! I got quotes from 3 different companies. Out of the 3 quotes I received Mike & Martins Asphalt & Paving was more professional, punctual and cost effective than the other 2. Another thing they did that stood out from the rest was the time they took to educate me on the whole process. Never having asphalt done before I had no idea what to expect. After meeting with Mike I felt very informed and comfortable moving forward with the project. The job is complete now and looks great! Mike called me a couple days after the project was done just to thank me one more time for my business. I don't usually take time to write reviews but these guys made a great impression. I highly recommend and would absolutely use them again in the future. Thanks

My asphalt driveway was replaced after careful consideration of other options, which Mike patiently explained. He is very knowledgeable, punctual, and does a great job! Further, he widened the driveway where is was needed at no further charge!!

Workers were courteous, pleasant, and professional. They started and ended on the days and times they said they would. Highway grade equipment was used. My husband and I are very pleased with the quality of the work done.
