My deck had developed some rotten places on the support beams. Steve described the problem, and offered a solution. They were on time, completed the repair quickly, and offered reasonable quotes. The damage was more extensive that originally thought, and they expanded the work to ensure a good job.

Steve and his crew were all very nice but there are a few things that I would have changed about the project they did for us. While Steve was nice and attentive, there are a number of areas in the texture and edging that are sloppy looking, despite going back to those places at least twice. I know that there is only so much you can do once the texture is set on the walls but I would definitely have preferred a cleaner finish. They also just didn't seem to care about the mess they made while texturing, I had to clean off a lot of things myself and I'm still finding items, that I was told were fine to store in the basement while it was being finished, that are covered in texture mud. TL/DR: Overall, Steve is a very nice and attentive person to work with, but the professionalism of his crew, as well as attention to detail and overall care were subpar.

I’m not sure where to start… Steve seemed like a pretty cool guy, but definitely does not care about quality in his work! He and his team of HS kids did a subpar job. You get what you pay for that’s for sure. Yeah he may be inexpensive compared to some, but I would have paid more to have the deck built correctly with better craftsmanship! Quality work and customer service! Used them to fix and paint my basement. Excellent job! Steve is very efficient and professional. Definitely recommend!

I am a retired General Contractor from the Midwest and these guys are excellent. They showed up quickly, great customer service skills, and fixed several items on my house perfectly. They will be my new "go to" contractor for the future.

Steve (owner of Builds By Steve) did a wonderful job on our basement. Steve is very talented and can build just about anything. He built a beautiful brick encased bar with a live slab countertop that looks amazing. The new basement has bathrooms with a lot natural stone in their design. Steve did all the stone work and they look like something out of House Beautiful magazine. This build was a huge project and like any construction project there were a few issues but Steve bent over backwards to make things right. We are so pleased with his work and would absolutely hire him again

The fence looks great and Steve was wonderful to work with! He torn up an old concrete slab in my backyard, built a fence, and put mulch down for me.
