SC Design And Granite

I have called him and emailed him and text messaged him since March 31st 2015. Ive made approximately 30 phone calls, all with limited response. He did bring out a marble top instead of the Granite top and i did not want it. Spo nopw he refuses to answer any message, text, email or phone call.

I had a disastrous experience with this company! They did not use a licensed plumber to remove the kitchen faucet. Instead, they did the removal themselves and didn't shut off the water properly when they pulled out the sink and faucet. I came home after being out for the evening and found my kitchen was flooded. I didn't think to check the downstairs bedroom until the next day, when I found the bedroom below was destroyed. <br /> <br />All my cabinets must now be removed, my ceramic tile floor must be taken out and the subfloor removed (couldn't dry it out). The downstairs ceiling caved in due to the water damage; sheetrock, carpet, and trim all had to be torn out. I've had Service Masters in my house trying to dry out the flooded areas, but much of the damage can't be mitigated. To date, I have at least $50,000 worth of damage (won't know full extent until all tear out is complete), to my home as a direct result of his botched work! The bedroom under the kitchen was my storage room for irreplaceable photos, artwork, personal files, book inscribed by Vince Flynn commemorating a dinner we shared, treadmill, other electronics... <br /> <br />Before this happened, I had other problems with the company. I selected the granite in June and we agreed to a 3 day installation window (for removal of old counters & installation of new). He failed to show up on multiple rescheduled dates and then went on vacation and left me with a mess for weeks & weeks. I insisted that they put the old counters, sink, and faucet (all banged up) back because I had a large party scheduled (long after the counters were supposed to be finished). I had to have running water in my kitchen and a surface to use for entertaining. <br /> <br />I read the other reviews on Angie's List which said that the company was unresponsive and didn't get things done on time. I was prepared for delays, but I didn't expect to be put off for two months and my home to be destroyed! This experience has been a complete nightmare!!

I would give them all around B. They did more. It was really good. The owner is a great guy. He supervised until they finished. They were great. They were just fantastic.

I found this company on Angie's List. I gave him a deposit in advance of $1,854 and he never did the work and never returned my calls. He just kind of disappeared. He was running a Big Deal through Angie's List, but I did not purchase that. My advice to others is to not work with him; he is unreliable.

Steve was late for all appointments, promised dates that he couldn't keep. When this project started, I told everyone I needed my kitchen back for Thanksgiving. It didn't happen. I would call Steve and more than once he wouldn't answer, I'd leave a message and maybe he would call back the next day. When he did finally call back, his response was "I'll get back to you. He promised the counter top would be installed either Mon or Tue before Thanksgiving. Then he changed that to Wed before Thanksgiving. At 4pm I called, no answer so I called again at 5pm no answer. He called be back after 6PM and said he couldn't do it that day. When I asked when it would be done he said his people were off until Mon. I told him that wasn't acceptable. He had someone out here Fri forenoon. The install went great. The installers got done and told me I could use one side of my sink. I washed some dishes, drained the water and it spilled all over the bottom of my sink. I called Steve, he said that he would take care of and get back to me. WHICH HE STILL HASN'T DONE, IT'S NOW SAT. NIGHT. I would recommend you drop him from Angies List.

The countertops are beautiful. Everyone on the project was professional and did a great job. The work was done on a timely basis and they did an excellent job. <br />

Steven is extremely personable and will go out of his way to do what is needed at the best possible price. We had some difficulties along the way - he was booked solid, and that resulted in delays on my job, but the work got done, and the price was fantastic. He replaced our kitchen countertop, and two bath vanity tops, and they looked great when finished. I believe that his work definitely helped us sell our place in record time.

It was a total disaster. I gave him a big down payment, I have to go to his house to find him twice, he took my money and he wasn't going to show up, he didn't show up several times and it has been pretty bad. He charged me a down payment of $1875 and I was supposed to pay him a balance of $1800 and as I said I had to go to his house to find him twice, he didn't show up maybe 4 or 5 times. The work that he did is shocking and crappy. I shouldn't have to chase somebody to their house again to do the work they are contracted to do. When I asked the person who is installing the granite, that 2 pieces are going on a different direction, that's a pretty bad thing. I feel sorry for the subcontractor who was with them for the house because I bet he didn't pay them either.

My experience was great. I haven't gotten my bill yet, he just did it two days ago but the granite looks great. It was very good, they're very friendly, very precise. I already referred them to two different people.

We found Steve through his ad placed on Angie's list and made the call while already evaluating some other granite shops. <br />   <br /> Steve made an appointment to come our to our home the same week and as a result our re-model adventure became a better experience. We had struggled with decisions on colors and Steve offered some "gentle" opinions with reasoning behind them based on his experience and the fact that he was actually standing in our kitchen being able to visualize. In addition, his suggestions for shaping the island piece went into the final design and turned out great. We were really pleased with this part of our engagement and believe it to be a critical part of the service that we found challenging to get other places (trying to bring in photos and diagrams just can't convey the same as being at the home). <br />   <br /> After the initial consult, Steve also met us at the granite warehouse to make the final selection of the slab... and also made an extra trip out to our house to pick up the sink we had ordered separately for the granite cut. <br />   <br /> The day of the install Steve and his team came out and did a nice job with both the bathroom and kitchen. All were very professional, courteous and took care to clean up all debris after demo and install. I can tell you from a day being with Steve that his phone never stops ringing and he is handling it all, so I was impressed with how promptly he always returned our calls (contrary to some of the other reviews on AL). He is a hard independent owner/worker and he has very competitive quotes that had me prepared to be more patient than I needed to be, so very pleased. <br />   <br /> The only issue experienced was a small gap where the granite met the stove, which I noticed during the install and asked for it to be corrected. Steve addressed it right away by shifting the slab, which ultimately resulted in a slightly wider than desired gap on the wall side. Steve offered to add a granite backsplash for free, but we went with the tile as planned and all is history. <br /> Overall, we were very happy with the experience and would recommend SC Design and Granite! Overall, I was extremely disappointed - not with the end product, but with this company. Things started off fine and Steven returned calls & met my husband and I at the warehouse to show us the products & he is indeed very knowledgeable in that regard.  Once the job was booked, however, the issues began.  Steven was extremely difficult to get ahold of, be it a CONSTANTLY full voicemail box or failure to respond to emails which he attributed to being very busy.  Really?  You are a business & you need to take care of and respond to your customers.  Period.  There is nothing more rude to do to a customer than ignoring them.  Installation also did not go as planned.  Without our knowledge or consent, Steven changed the design of one of the main pieces of countertop from one single piece of granite to two.  We were shown the drawing from the installer/fabricator where they were advised to make this change.  This was unacceptable & should never have happened.  We were offered a discount if we chose to leave it as is or the option for them to make it right.  Why should doing things right even be negotiable??  After the job was finally completed, Steven did give us a discount on our outstanding balance due which was appreciated, but did not make me feel any better about how the whole process went overall.  My new countertops and sink look great, but if I had it to do over again, I would not have been swayed by the appeal of an Angie's List discount and clearly should have paid much more attention to the prior negative reviews and BBB rating rather than counting on the great reviews that others gave on Angie's List.  Fool me once. <br /> <br /> <br />

It took me some time to connect with this company and even more time to schedule the actual installation.  However, once they arrived, the work was done quickly and professionally in less than one day.  The workers were very professional and did an excellent job of cleaning up when they were through. <br />

I was referred to Steven through Roger Kelly from Affordable Design and Remodelers. I was very impressed with the ideas that Steven had for our kitchen, and the rest of our dining area. He gave us a wonderful idea that increased the usefulness of our peninsula. The price was by far the best we had seen. He took us right to the warehouse and led us smoothly through what could have been an overwhelming experience. His design ideas helped narrow our choices of granite. The installers were very professional, and cleaned up very well at completion. I absolutely love the kitchen, and I don't know how I ever lived without the deep undermounted sink that was also installed! We just purchased another house, and I will be using Steven again for the next kitchen.

After Shopping around and having 3 other estimates, I was referred to Steven at SC Design and Granite.  What a difference.  He came to my house, and went over my kitchen in detail, and took the time to explain everything involved in the process.  He talked about how things would look when it was to be finished, and he was right on.  He really is the most personable, honest, and down to earth professional that I have worked with.  His bid was hundreds of dollars less than the other estimates I received, for the exact same product and services.  He is very passionate about his business and his quality.  He showed up on time, and his installers were extremely courteous and professional.  They left no mess, and were very focused on the task at hand. <br /> I can't imagine getting this type of service anywhere else.  The customer is so important to Steven, and I would highly recommend using SC Design and Granite for any counter top needs!

The entire process was great!  <br /> <br /> Steven took time to understand our style preferences and the application of the slab. He thoroughly explained the entire process and costs and showed us a variety of slabs that met our needs. <br /> <br /> Steven was open and honest diplomatically answering our questions ensuring structural integrity versus just trying to sell granite. I especially appreciated the guidance Steven provided about slabs variations, colors and, in our case, how the larger slabs provide more design cut-out options saving us from buying 2 slabs. <br /> <br /> We selected Neptuno which has a variety of creams, greenish-grey, with a hint of red and splotches of clear quartz. It?s really quite spectacular. Steven confirmed the colors would complement the floor tile and cabinet colors in our kitchen but also tied in the river rock in our adjoining great room fireplace. <br /> <br /> Steven was meticulous taking his time creating a template and ensured the layout was not only efficient in using the granite it also highlighted the natural design of the granite. <br /> <br /> When it came time for installation Steven and his team were very careful and respectful of our walls and cabinets as well as cleaning up but my highest installation complement are the seams   We've all seen beautiful granite with crummy seams - not Steven's; the pattern within the seams align perfectly! <br /> <br /> If you are looking to add granite anywhere in your home I highly encourage you to include Steven in the process.
