Mr. Bill Schwenzer and his brother, Tom, demolished the bathtub area, removed the tile floor, installed new sub floor, removed the vanity top, raised the vanity a few inches, installed 12"x24" tiles in tub area with a niche, installed 18"x18" tiles on the floor, installed new baseboards and shoe mold, organized plumber for installation of new tub, toilet, sink and shower faucets. Bill and Tom always prompt and efficient. We had a few challenges with the location and size of the niche because of some electrical wires in the wall, but it worked out well after all. They were very meticulous in their work, cleaned up after themselves, and especially wanted to be sure we were satisfied AND happy with the job. Not only were they polite and friendly with us (and the family dog), they were also polite and friendly with each other. They are trustworthy and honest gentlemen, which is hard to find these days. Everything is GREAT!
Bill and his brother did a great job! First, Bill came out a week before our scheduled date to see what we were working with. He gave me advice how to remove the stairs myself. On the installation day, they went above and beyond with reattaching the stairs. The stairs are more sturdy than they were before, they are now even, and they corrected the height of the first step (before, the first step was too steep), he also installed a second hand rail to keep the stairs up to code. Again, he went above and beyond and the price was very reasonable. Excellent customer service, and Bill is an honest and upstanding guy! I will definitely hire him in the future if need be.
He was great, we had him refinish the floors of our bedroom, he redid the window dressing. I live in a house built in 1929 and we had him rip up the carpeting and there were beautiful hardwood floors underneath that he also refinished.

Purchased Angie's List special - 3 hours handyman work. Mr. Schwenzer faced a daunting task - due to severe foundation issues, one side of the upstairs bedroom door had dropped down considerably, preventing the door from even coming close to closing. He had to remove the door and all the trim and framing, cut away part of the drywall to square the opening, and then replace everything. He was able to do so without damaging any of the trim or framing, and the door now closes easily and perfectly. It took the full three hours and I could not be happier with the result. I found Mr. Schwenzer to be knowledgeable, detail-oriented, and the quality of his work excellent. I highly recommend him.
It was a Big Deal purchase. He was a little bit expensive but I'm not positive because I haven't had anything like that done in a long time but he did a good job. His price for what he did for me was okay.

Bill did an excellent job for us. He was prompt and explained why he was doing some of the work he did as the work on the exterior of the front porch was more involved then at first thought. Everything he did turned out well. There was another job on our list that he did not feel he could do the job as we wanted it done so he found us someone that could do the job and that went well too. We are very pleased with Bill's work and will definitely contact him again when we need more home repairs done. The job took most of a couple of days. Bill always cleaned up the area before he left the site.
We had purchased a Big Deal for 3 hours of handyman service. He did such a great job, we had him come back and knock out the rest of our list. We highly recommend him, he is very knowledgeable and very pleasant.
Bill stopped by a few weeks before the job to give me an estimate and to take a look at the work that needed to be done. He told me what materials to buy and how to prepare for the job. I had several questions and concerns and Bill did a great job responding to all of my messages. We also had to re-schedule our job date and time, Bill had no problems re-scheduling our appointment.
On the morning of the job, Bill was on time and ready to go. I gave him the materials I had prepared and he got right to work. The job went as well as can be expected. The trim looks great and I am very happy with the work that was done. I will certainly contact Bill again when I have another technically challenging project I need help with.
They cleaned up after themselves and arrived on time. There were no issues scheduling with them and the work itself turned out just fine.

Carl was terrific - we had originally bought a special deal for 3 hours of service, but came up with 8 hours of work - he replaced and secured several shutters which had fallen off, and noticed several were loose, so he fixed those too. He also secured a pedestal sink in the hall bathroom, fixed shorts in a light in the bathroom as well as in a coach light outside, reattached a downspout to the house and made a ceramic ring for the chimney flu in our attic so we could get additional insulation installed. He was very knowledgeable and very service oriented. He typically does more remodeling than handyman service, but does some handyman work in between other jobs. He is really good!

It went well. He called when he knew that he would be late. He had difficulty with the installation of the ceiling fan, but was patient and it did get installed. The other projects did not prove to be a problem. After he left, I turned the ceiling fan on later and it was making noise and the blades didn't turn when they should have. I called him. He came out the next day, looked at the problem and then informed me that the noise was a defect in the fan. He advised me to call the manufacturer. Which I later did. I found him to be courteous and professional.

Bill arrived at the pre-arranged time. It took almost 4 hours for Bill and his co-worker to complete the work. When it was finished, I noted that the threshold did not have the same appearance as the previous 50-year old one. He stated that was the way all the new ones were being done and that the door would not have closed if it had extended out. This is a 50+-year old home that should not look like new ones. Furthermore, it had closed just fine for all those years with an extended threshold. He also noted that I would have to have the security company come out and re-install their alarm. When it was time to write the check, he added $25 to the agreed upon price because of cans of insulation and the threshold. Neither of those things were unforeseen expenses and should have been included in the original estimate. Had I been satisfied with his work, I would have hired him to replace the other two entry doors on the house. Needless to say, I did not ask him to install those, but instead I hired another more expensive company to complete the work. I even paid them to reinstall the front door and to do the threshold as it had originally been done. I pointed out that the door did not seem to hang properly. The contractor's comment was, "We'll use a level." I was so upset that I had to pay twice to have the front door installed. Additionally, they were able to work around the alarm system, and no repair was necessary on the back two doors by the alarm company. The second company did an awesome job!
