864 SC Maintenance

I contacted Shawn Crisp of SC Maintenance through Angi in January 2025 to replace the roof and ceiling of my sunroom. Shawn came to my home and gave me a written estimate of $5000 to do the job and asked for $2500 upfront as a deposit. He stated he needed to first shore up the ceiling right away because there was a snowstorm coming, and he was concerned the roof would cave in under the weight of the snow. I signed a contract and wrote Shawn a check for $2500 (ck # 1127). Shawn put up some temporary framing to support the ceiling and put down a large tarp to protect my tile floor. After the snow, Shawn admitted to me that he did not believe he could replace the roof. He agreed with me that it would be better if I hired someone else to do the job. I asked if he would refund me the deposit. He said the framing and tarp cost $1500 (which was extraordinarily high), but I agreed to it if he would work off the remaining $1000 doing another project. He agreed to remove an old storm door frame from my front door and install a new storm door for $1000 (l provided the door). He said he would come on Thursday, Feb 27, to do the job. Shawn called on Wednesday and asked to reschedule for Monday because he had to babysit his grandson. I agreed for him to come on Monday, March 3. On Monday morning, Shawn called and told me he could not do the job because he had applied for disability. Furthermore, Shawn admitted that he owed me $10000, but he didn't know when he could pay me back. I told Shawn that I didn’t trust him anymore and I was going to file a complaint and seek redress.

They were so nice and helpful. They hauled off some trash I couldn't do because I use a cane. I will be using them again. My bedroom is beautiful. Now to order the living maroon And dining furniture. I can't wait. Very happy and highly recommend.

Shawn was great -- reached out as soon as I posted my message and proactively came out to replace my mailbox sooner than originally agreed due to the hurricane forecast for our area. He had the project assessed, materials purchased, and work done all within a matter of hours! Then, when I asked for an estimate on what it would take to fix my broken downspout, he fixed that on the spot!

He came on time and completed the work in a timely manner. I would definitely hire him again and plan to do that in the future.

It all went well. Shawn has been such a help around the house. He was able to complete my 4 season room. There was an issue with the first ac unit, but he dealt with that. It's my favorite room in the house now. He has planted plants and taken down trees. He is my go-to guy for developing and maintaining my property.

They did a super job but didn’t return when I reported a problem. They also insisted on full payment and they hadn’t completed the work. They were supposed to seal the wood on the porch and said it should be done in the Spring. Against my better judgment, I paid in full. Due to a family emergency on their part, they haven’t returned. Not sure if they will. They do respond when I text but don’t seem to be able to come to a resolution. They built a fence for me too and one side of the gate won’t open. That also needs repair.

Great work for a variety of small projects that were above my level of DIY experience, and needed an array of tools that I neither had readily available or wanted to purchase. Attention to detail and expert ability are outstanding.

Shawn and his team did a great job. I felt that his pricing was fair and that his employees were very clear about the work they were performing and provided some expert advice on a few other things I asked them to look at. I really try to treat anyone who comes into my house as a guest even if I’m technically paying for them to be there, and Shawn’s crew were just so darn nice I almost hated to see them leave after the work was done. In turn they were courteous and respectful of my home and property while working which was extremely important to me personally as someone who works from home. As for the outcome, his team of experts were very thorough and did an outstanding job. Everything they did, I was pleased with the quality and timeliness of the work performed. These guys are smart, talented, and capable and I hope others will consider using them for random home updates and repairs as well.

Shawn and his team delivered as promised. They were all very friendly, professional, and the result is terrific.

These guys went above and beyond to make sure our job was done perfectly. Punctual, honest, nice, and thorough are words I would describe them as. We have already hired them to come back to do our backsplash.

I needed a shed assembled as well as a Gazebo . Shutters painted and installed.

I’d like to give a 5-star shout-out to SC Maintenance. We had a variety of repairs to be done on our mobile home and was looking for a “one call gets all” company and we found one. I was contacted within 5 minutes of sending an email, and arrangements were made, and met, for a walkthrough. After agreeing on a start date, Shawn and his crew showed up to work. This group of guys are delightful, knowledgeable and quick to offer options that allowed us to weigh in on the repairs and costs. The work was exceptional. We have plans for other repairs and I look forward to seeing all of them again.

Shawn Crisp came to assess our project and got back with us the next week when he said he would. He arrived at the appointed time with Howard ready to install a design of pipe rails that fit the need perfectly without interfering with maintenance that may need to be done. Now we can change our filters easily and is also a safety measure for anyone needing to enter or exit the attic space. They also securely rehung a 35 lb decorative mirror in our dining room without any damage to the wallpapered wall. They were professional, congenial and fair. They did a wonderful job and we would recommend SC Maintenance to anyone that needs a job well done.
