"This is precisely why I am finished with Angies List. A customer can spew lies and have the potential to harm a contractors business, and in some cases even EXTORT money, even when the customer is in the wrong. Angies List "arbitration" is a joke as they will print the customers grievance, even if proven wrong. (It's in your contract) they tell me. This guy [ member name removed] wanted his exterior porch railings to look like interior woodwork to the point where he wanted us to fill in the screw holes with wood filler. The proposal stated one primer coat and one finish coat. He received two finish coats and we not only scraped but sanded with orbital sanders most surfaces. The "bubbles" [member name removed] is referring to were probably created when he admittedly took a putty knife to work I had just completed earlier in the day. I still sent a crew back to try and make this guy happy, and he still wanted his porch railings to look like banisters from out of Playhouse Square. My crew finished up (no charge) and no mention of an additional charge for the second and third coats we applied on this $685 job, and he still called, and text messaged, and emailed several more times. I still went back personally to look at the completed job. It was fine except for the one piece of wood(exterior mind you), that had bubbled up. ( probably where he had messed with my work). I sanded the wood again, primed it, and finished coated it , only to get multiple more contacts by [member name removed]. I take great pride in the work I want to put my name on and for the houses and businesses that trust in us to complete their work. Every attempt to make this guy happy was made, even when it cost me additional monies and time."
"I was warned by several other contractors not to take this job and I should have listened. All that I would like to say is that the claims made against myself and my company are completely false and if you wish to see a true reflection of my company, read the other reviews on the Angie’s List site. I could defend myself by going on and on but I will only say this…please pray for this member and their family."
