Outstanding job from beginning to end. Wayne explained how they were going to do the job, showed up always on time and finished the job as promised. Very satisfied with this company and their painting service.

Wayne and his crew are great to work with. They patched and painted interior doors and walls, as well as a 3D wall. They also painted our decks, railings, awnings and trim. We are very pleased with the attention to detail.

It pains me to write this review with such a low mark and I will change and update the review if the owner contacts me and makes good on a breached agreement. A while back, the company painted the interior of my large home in Fallbrook. While on the job, the crew unfortunately caused severe damage to my hardwood floors that then required a $10,000 refinishing job. Although their original paint estimate from S&D indicated they were insured, it turned out the insurance had lapsed and therefore a claim could not be made for reimbursement of damages. The owner, Dave Deason, took responsibility for the damages and promised at a later date that his company would pay for the losses by doing additional paint work at my home. I agreed to this arrangement since I knew I could use some additional work later on in my remodel project. I felt bad for Dave and wanted to give him the opportunity to compensate for damages without out of pocket money or going the route of a surety bond claim. When the time came for the additional work to be done, Dave came to the house, agreed to the requested work and the arrangements and dates were set for them to begin in March 2018. When the day came for the team to show up and start painting, S&D Brushworks was a no show. I texted, called and left multiple messages for Dave to contact me and discuss the situation but there has been no response. This situation has caused me great inconvenience and expense as I had other workers scheduled to come in directly after S&D Brushworks and must now find and pay another company to do the job. I am really shocked that this happened. Something is not right and I hope this gets resolved. I will remove or update review when this is addressed.

Excellent job completed. S&D Brushworks sent out a work team—consisting of Giovanni Gomez who appeared to lead the work crew, Francisco, Jeremiah, and John Skalaba. Also Wayne, one of the business’ owners, personally installed the baseboard. The workers arrived on time and totally cleaned up before leaving each day. The business gave me an estimate of 7 days to complete the work, but they finished in 6. Also the workmen cordoned off what amounted to a “small apartment” for me so that I could comfortably remain in the house without being exposed to the fumes and dust. S&D Brushworks did a perfect, beautiful, extremely professional job. I totally recommend them without question!

I had hoped that the project would be complete after 3-4 days. Unfortunately, the painter became ill and we lost a couple days of work. That said, I would still recommend them to anyone looking for professional and what I would consider very reasonably priced painters. When I drive up my driveway, the color is very dramatic and, even the white trim pops.

Why S&D Brushworks is not the NUMBER 1 result in an Angie's List search for house painters in San Diego is beyond me. It should be. David was extremely communicative and professional. His team worked efficiently, arrived on time, were courteous and did a great job. They were able to start the work right away and finished promptly since I needed things done for a house in escrow. Their performance was fantastic. Trim painted neatly and the body of the house covered completely. On top of all that, their prices were reasonable.

They used rollers to paint the cabinets. This leaves them with a very rough feel and they look like painted cabinets which my husband could of done. Apparently if I would of selected the semi gloss coating the feel of the cabinets would of been smooth as a result when I need to wipe them down it is very difficult. Plus it would of preserved them longer. The point of the rough cabinet exterior was not mentioned at the time of discussing what we wanted. I am so unhappy with the outcome. They did come out to see what they could do about our dissatisfaction. We were told that for another $1000 they could put the semi gloss coating on. My husband asked if that was the best they could do. We have not heard back from them.

It was a big job, and the price was fair. They did a thorough job of prepping every area: moving furniture, protecting every surface with plastic or paper, well taped and sealed. They sprayed the ceilings and baseboards, and did the walls, doors and other trim with roller and brush. The men were all polite and friendly, and did good work. However, despite all the prep work, I've been finding splatters and spills in nearly every room--small and easy to clean up, but more than I would have expected. I also neglected to ask them to remove nails from the walls, so they painted over them all--though they cheerfully went back and touched up the spots I asked them to.

I thoroughly recommend this company. The painters and wood refinishers were all artists at what they did and we are extremely pleased with the results. The prep work was meticulously done, the finished products are better than hoped for, and the cleanup was as if it never happened. The men were very professional, worked as a team and caused us the least disruption possible. They showed up for work at exactly the days and times arranged and everything was finished well within the time frame expected. I will happily and confidently rehire them for any other paint or stain work we might need around the house.

Although I paid for 40 hours worth of work, the painters arrived late and wanted to leave early. Plus, some of their lunch time was factored into the 40 hours of labor I was supposed to get. I believe I probably received only 36 hours worth of actual work. They were only able to finish painting one 1/4 room, 3 wainscot panels, a window, and a trifold french door. The painters were extremely slow, except when it came to painting walls. It seemed like one of the painters did not seem to have that much experience. The window was not properly sanded and you can still see the brush marks. A section of a door was painted over without properly sanding or pointing out that the putty on the door needed to be replaced. They did, however, do a good job painting the walls of a room, so if I had to do it all over again, I would only have them paint rooms that do not require any prep work, since they do not spend much time prepping.

Company assigned a single painter for the exterior painting of a single level, 2000 sq. ft. home. Painting, including some minor stucco repair, was completed as scheduled in 4 days. Ray, the painter, did an excellent job. Would definitely use again. Highly recommend.

From day one, they explained to us what they would be doing. Wayne walked the house with my husband and they found the house had lead paint, so that had to be "treated" according to abatement laws. The Bio-suit and all, they took care of it. Each day the painter explained what he was doing. We unfortunately chanted our minds about one color we had him put on and he went back, without complaining, and changed it for us. He went out of his way to do a great job and even painted a door and safety screen without extra charge. Now I'm going to have them comeback and do the inside. They are amazing.
