Work on the bathroom remodeling has not been completed after nearly 11 months.  Problems: <br /> <strong>**</strong>There is a 2 inch gap between the top of the shower panels and the frame <br /> **Vanity top arrived without backsplash on the side <br /> **Shower head leaks <br /> **Hot and cold water was reversed when they put in the sink <br /> **I have been without a towel ring in the guest bath for almost 11 months <br /> **Incidental damage was left with no plan to repair it - including the pocket door in the bathroom (won't fully open of close and was obviously knocked off the track or something) <br /> I have written a letter, made numerous phone calls, and have not had a reply. <br /> I have asked Sears for a plan for repair of the incidental damage and for 10% off the cost for every month over 5 months that the work has taken to be completed.  I felt that giving them 5 months was generous.  No comment from Sears. <br /> All these things do not include other problems, e.g., arranging to be home for a day so that the shower doors could be installed, but the installer sent had only done sliding doors and was not able to install the panels, asking workmen to correct the leaking shower head and the hot and cold water - not done, having one of the light fixtures arrive broken and waiting 3 months to get a new one, etc.   <br />

You call Sears Home Improvement Products but somebody else comes to do the job but he did a really good job. He came and we had to take everything out of the refrigerator and he took the back panel off and there was a hose that was not connected any longer which was probably due to the move and he connected all that and he cleaned up all the ice. They guy was professional and he took his shoes off which really surprised me because it is not necessary in our house and he said it was just one of the things he does. He was very thorough in what he did and he was very knowledgeable in all the products and he fixed the problem. He was very respectful of the house and the whole refrigerator.

First salesman gave me a very high price. After the offer expired they called me back to see if I had acted yet.  The offered to have a different sales rep give me a better offer.  He did, and since I liked these windows the best I took the offer.  <br /> As they put the windows in, I did watch carefully to make sure there wasn't any hidden damage to the walls or sills of the house. <br /> They cleaned up everything, and left me with clean new windows. <br />

I was not happy with them. I thought it was the heating element but it was not. The timer on the stove was out and he did not tell me. They are over priced. I would not recommend them for service repairs.

The reason I used them was the sales they were having.  The prices were good.  They were pretty good.  I got what I wanted.  Nobody makes the refrigerator that is exactly what I needed.  That was my only frustration.  I did go out there a lot.  It took me a while to buy it, mostly because I needed a fairly small refrigerator with features.

We got a new motor for our dishwasher and it didn't cost anything more, since we had bought the service plan.  This will cover us for the rest of the year and we can renew it when it runs out.  It makes a lot of sense for older appliances.  Sears gives you a time frame that covers several hours, like 1:00-5:00 pm.  You have to wait there until the repairman shows.  At 4:45 I called Sears and they said he would be there in the next 15 minutes.  They were right.

THERE WAS DIFFICULTY GETTING A RESPONSE INITIALLY WHENEVER I CALLED THE COMPANY TO ASK QUESTIONS. I LEFT SEVERAL MESSAGES AND DID NOT GET ANY RESPONSE BACK. I FINALLY GOT AHOLD OF THE REPRESENTATIVE WHO CAME TO MY HOUSE, AUTIE MCCLANAHAN. AUTIE WAS ALWAYS PROFESSIONAL, AND WHEN I WAS FINALLY ABLE TO TALK TO HIM, HE TOOK CARE OF THE PROBLEMS IMMEDIATELY. ON THE DAY THE FURNACE WAS REPLACED, THERE WAS ONLY ONE PERSON TO DO THE JOB. JUDGING FROM THE SCOPE OF THE JOB, IT SEEMS TO ME THERE SHOULD HAVE AT LEAST BEEN ONE OTHER PERSON TO HELP. TIM ARRIVED TO DO THE WORK AND DIDN'T LEAVE UNTIL 10:00 THAT NIGHT, WITH THE JOB STILL NOT FINISHED. HE SAID HE WOULD COME BACK THE NEXT NIGHT TO FINISH (INSULATION, HAUL AWAY OLD FURNACE) WHICH HE DIDN'T. HE ALSO WAS SUPPOSED TO CALL ME ON THAT WEEKEND TO GET OUT AND FINISH THE JOB; HE DIDN'T. FINALLY, 4 DAYS LATER HE FINISHED THE JOB. FORTUNATELY, THE NEW FURNACE SEEMS TO BE WORKING GREAT.

SEARS SENT OUT A TECHNICIAN AND HE WAS ON TIME AND VERY SPEEDY WITH HIS REPAIR. HE CLEANED UP HIS MESS AND ALSO VACUUMED UNDER MY FRIG. HE HAD THE PART ON HIS TRUCK AND OUT IN LESS THAN AN HOUR. THE PART WAS EXPENSIVE BUT IT STILL SAVED ME MONEY.

THE OVERALL EXPERIENCE HAS BEEN WRETCHED. THE WORK DONE CAUSED DAMAGE TO MY HOUSE- THEY COVERED THE BATHROOM FAN VENT, CAUSING IT TO BUILD UP MOISTURE AND GROW MOLD IN MY BATHROOM, THE GABLE END VENTS THEY RECOMMENDED CAUSED A BUILDUP OF COLD AIR AND MOISTURE IN THE ATTIC AND NOW WE HAVE TO REPLACE OUR ROOF. (THIS COULD HAVE BEEN AVOIDED, ACCORDING TO AN ENGINEER FOR OUR INSURANCE COMPANY) BY SIMPLY SUGGESTING WE INSTALL AN ATTIC FAN, BUT THEY DIDN'T DO THAT. WE ARE STILL, 9 MONTHS LATER, TRYING TO GET SEARS TO TAKE RESPONSIBILITY AND FIX THE DAMAGE TO OUR HOUSE. THIS WAS JUST THE END TO A VERY FRUSTRATING PROCESS OF EVEN GETTING THEM OUT THERE TO DO THE WORK IN THE FIRST PLACE, AND THERE HAVE ALSO BEEN PROBLEMS WITH THEIR BILLING DEPARTMENT.
