I am giving all sections 1 star To begin let me identify the owner of the company who committed multiple violations of codes and Tennessee law on my property in case he changes the name of his business and attempts to clean his slate and find new clients. Josh Cole the owner came out to my property I started flipping about two months ago to bid on rebuilding the framework of the property as it was not in a livable condition. After having accepted his bid we discussed permits, since rebuilding the entire framework of a house would be huge undertaking by him and the codes inspector. Josh assured me that he was in the process of acquiring his Home Improvement license and would have it before the start of any work requiring a permit. Even if he was not able to acquire it he claimed to have friend with a General Contractors license that would allow him use of his license for this project. Through my searches using state government sites I do not see any evidence Josh Cole has ever had a license for any kind of contracting work; which is a violation of TCA 62-6-136 relating to his unlawful representation as a contractor. For those unfamiliar with Tennessee law, many of the contractor statues are considered class A misdemeanors and each violation is a separate offense; and as a single customer i have plenty i am currently reporting to the codes depart, state licensing board and Attorney Generals office. The pictures submitted to Angi paint the picture that he has done a lot of permit level work in the past without a permit. As per TCA 62-6-512 that license requirement is still in effect even if a permit is not required. Josh, as far the code departs e-permit system, has not acquired a permit for my property or any property in their records system. This is significant because TCA 62-6-137 requires a permit bond submitted to the codes office in order to obtain permits. Since Josh is refusing to reply to my requests to furnish any information on whether he has a bond; I can only assume this another violation exposing me and the rest of his customers to financial loss. We are now six weeks into this project after Josh Cole himself told me through text that this was a two week job. I am not typically the kind of person who is going to stand over the shoulder of a professional, but in this case it may have been to my benefit. Josh Cole has also mislead me to the amount of work he did in any particular week. I have caught him in multiple lies, where, he claims work that I saw was completed days ago, was just finished that day. He also has made claims to have been working on certain days; when in reality he was not there until I announce to him through text that I am coming over. I then leave the property and come back later to him pretending to have been working the whole time. Hiring Josh has been a disaster to my flip and may have cost me everything I have and my future renovating properties. I have currently reported him to the Metro Police, the States Attorney Generals office, and the District Attorneys office for Davidson county for grand theft. Hire at your own risk. I would not use again.
