Second City Hauling is a Chicago-based, firefighter-owned junk removal company built on a donation-first, landfill-last standard. First-responder roots ran by husband and wife Chris and Melissa. We serve homeowners, renters, landlords, real estate professionals, and small businesses with fast, dependable service and clear communication from quote to sweep-up. We remove unwanted items from homes, apartments, garages, basements, storage units, offices, and small commercial spaces, while prioritizing donation of usable items whenever possible. Our services include full and partial cleanouts, furniture removal, appliance removal, estate cleanouts, eviction cleanouts, garage and storage unit cleanouts, donation pickups, light demolition, and small moving jobs. When possible, we offer same-day or next-day scheduling. Shout out to EVERYBODY!! They were extremely nice, from beginning to end! They came out to take down and remove my bed, mattress, box spring and an old TV and they were AWESOME! Not only that, they were very efficient! Chris, Damien, Melissa (and there were a couple of others whose names I did not catch), you guys ROCK! I plan on not only using you all again, but I will definitely be letting everyone know all about you guys! I appreciate you so very much! :)

Second City Hauling finished getting these extremely heavy sofas out of my apartment in about a half hour. They were careful not to ding the furniture against anything. Much appreciated!! The fact that they work with charities to give unwanted furniture a second life only made the experience that much more meaningful.

What a great experience. Chris and Melissa scheduled me quickly, showed up on time, disassembled my king size bedframe and removed it, along with my mattresses, box springs and nightstands, in 30 min. And they made sure the floor was swept up after. They are priced well and so dependable. Don't go to anyone else until you check in with them! Will use them, again, for sure. See the attached before and after (I did mop the floor, but that was nothing).

Building Materials Removal Service
Needed a very large dresser removed from our basement with a large mirror attachment. Second city Hauling came in and were extremely professional and courteous. Very quick and efficient with removal. This is the second time I have used their services for furniture/junk removal and both times have been very quick and efficient.

They showed up on time, worked incredibly fast, and were impressively organized and professional from start to finish. What could have been a stressful situation was handled seamlessly. I’m genuinely impressed — this was easily one of the best service experiences I’ve had. Highly recommend.

Couldn't be better! Chris was able to give an estimate over the phone after submitting a picture of a bed that I needed removed. He was able to come the next day. Other places want to come into your home and stare you down into an agreement after asking a hundred questions. Great communication and professionalism. Thanks!

Second City Hauling did an excellent job with our furniture removal. We had a couch, a few mattresses, bed frame, and coffee table we no longer needed and they removed everything quickly and for a reasonable price. The guys came in and were friendly, efficient, and very respectful of our home. We also love that they donate as much as possible. I would certainly book with them again and cannot recommend them highly enough!
